Over the next month, Lizzy threw herself into planning Sam’s birthday party and figuring out her life. She looked into online college classes and considered what she would need to do to go back to college. With the separation moving forward and a divorce pending in eleven months, Lizzy knew she had to figure out something. Aaron would only support her for so long.
Lizzy also doted on Mikey and made sure to spend time with Sam whenever she could. Sam asked what was going on with Lizzy and Aaron and Lizzy tried to explain it to her, but every time she started talking she cried. After a week Sam quit asking.
Jenny came over early before the party to help Lizzy get ready. Lizzy insisted everything would be okay, but Jenny knew it was hard to throw a party with two kids hanging around.
