Aaron heard the TV blaring from inside the garage. He listened closely but couldn’t hear his family above the noise. He opened the door to the house and still couldn’t hear anything except the voices from the TV. They were singing something.
He toed off his boots and hung up his jacket. Setting his briefcase on the bench and unwrapping his scarf, he tried to listen again for sounds of Lizzy and the kids. Usually Sam will greet him in the hallway, but she still wasn’t there. He worried something was wrong.
