I am looking at the window while Mattho is driving. He hurt me by his words. I admit that it's my fault but he don't need to shout at me.
After I heard his story, I feel the guilt. If I only know his story, I will treat him nicely even before.
"I'm sorry!" I said while still looking at the window.
"Huh!" He said.
He's driving so I didn't disturb him.
"I said, I'm sorry for everything." I added.
"No, I am the one who will say sorry to you. It's my fault! I shouted on you. I'm sorry for being rude to you. I'm so distracted at the moment. Because of what is happening right now, my head is aching." He said.
I look at him but he's looking straightly to the road.
" I was the one who needs to say sorry to you, Mattheo. Since we met, I didn't treat you nice even before. I don't mean to hurt you! It's just happen that, I don't want to make friends with boys but you proved to me that you deserved my trust." I said while looking at him.
I'm waiting for his reaction.
"I won't blame you. I know that it's difficult for a girl to build her trust because of different boys who just hurt her." He said then look at me at the moment then smiled at me then returned his eyes at the road.
I heard his deep sigh.
"You know what, Collin? We are lucky because there is no house here so maybe we are safe from the zombie attacked at this moment." He said.
I just look at him. Everytime that I think how he treated me so nicely even if I'm rude to him, I conscience didn't stop me.
I beat the silence when I talk to him
"How did you know that this is the right way to that hidden place?" I asked.
He turned his head to me.
"I remember this way. And I'm hoping that we will not get lost and that place will allow us to see him again." He said.
"Are we still far away in that place?" I asked.
He just look at me.
When I look at the window again, all the things that happen when we go to that trip, sinks in to my mind.
That trip! That trip who ruined all the plans that I created.
"Wait, Matth!" I said.
I hold his arms caused him to stop.
"What?" He said while he's looking at me.
"I think we are already here." I said. I opened the door and go outside the car.
I heard he said wait then he go beside me.
"Wait a minute. I just look at the flashlight." he said while looking for flashlight in his bag.
I just nod at him and look at the place again.
Nothing change. I still feel that unexplainable feeling that I felt just like before.
"Are you okay?" he said while looking at me. He gave me a flashlight.
I just nod at him.
"You know what, Collin. I know that you had a bad feeling about this place. Yeah! I admit that I also feel the same way but, I just don't want to scare all of you." He said.
I smiled at him.
"I thought you can' feel it!" I said.
He smirk.
I caught him smiling while he's looking at the big tree.
"Is there any problem, Mattheo? Why are you looking at that tree? Did you see something?" I asked while looking at him.
"Nothing! I just remember something in there." He said while he suddenly turn his sight at me.
He gave me his hand and I hold it.
We started to walk.
"Hold that flashlight. I need to take care of you." He said.
Wow! Why he acts like this.
"You don't have to take care of me, Mattheo. I can do this on my own." I said.
"No! I have to. We don't know what dangerous things are waiting for us, here." He said.
He holds my shoulder and my hand while I'm holding the flashlight.
Oh! My heart. It melts.
Why is he treating me like this. Are he planning to make me fall inlove with him. If that was his plan, then I will try my best to not fall inlove with him.
"Ahm, Mattheo, May I ask you something?" I said.
"What is your reason why you are doing this?" I said.
He looks at me, "Huh? What are you talking about?"
"I don't get your reason why you're doing this. At first, when we go to that trip last time. I feel that you are taking care of me! You never leave my side. You always assured that I'm safe. Then the second one, you go to my house and save me from my mom who wants to hurt me. You are always making sure that I'm safe. Then you are always making me secured from the zombies." I said while looking at him.
I take a deep sigh.
"I know I acted like a rude all this time since the first day we met. I treated you badly but I don't understand why you still choose to save me and take care of me." I added.
I saw he smiled.
"You don't need the reason. It's not that important now." He said.
He is still holding my hand and my shoulder.
Yes, I admit. I'm happy because when I'm with him, I'm not in doubt because I know that as long as I'm with him, I know I'm safe.
I just really want to know his reason.
Something came up to my mind. Those what if's that bothered me at the moment.
What if he likes me! What if he do something bad to me and this is his way to say sorry to me. But, I don' t remember anything! In fact, I am the who's treated him badly so, therefore, instead of him, I was the one who supposed to do it.
I shake my head and trying to erase what's going on to my mind.
I always to this everytime I am overthinking about so many things.
"Why did you do that? Are you okay? Do you have a headache? We can go back so you can take a medicine and then we will continue this walk." He said while looking at me.
He touched my forehead and neck.
"You are not sick. In fact, you're fine." He said.
"I'm okay. I don't need a medicine. I don't anything but to go back all the things just like before." I said.
I take a deep sigh.
We continue to walk.
"Where are we going? Please stop for a while. I'm tired." I remove his hands to mine and I sat on the root of the tree.
"Sir Manolo!" I heard he shouted.
"Psst!" I said then he looks at me.
"Who's Manolo?" I asked.
"Do you remember when I told you that there's someone who help me to bring you to the car? The one who told me about the history of this place? He's Manolo." He said.
"Ahh!" I just nod at him.
He walk near me and then sit beside me.
"How will we find him? Did he even told you where we can find him or whatever his location? Or, is he left his number for us to call him in case of emergency?" I said.
He just says, no.
"So, how will we find him." I said.
"I remember the place that he said he's always staying. It is beside the trees." He said.
I raised my eyebrows to him.
"Can't you see that all we can see here is trees? So, why is that possible?" I asked.
He stand up and give his hands at me.
"You have to trust me, Collin. Come on! Let's go." he said.
He helped me to get up and we continue to walk.
He old the flashlight and he's holding my hands too.
Is guy is so abusing my weakness. Chancing!
While he was holding his hand, I feel the shock between me and him.
I just can't understand that feeling.
"Don't walk too fast, Mattheo. We don't need to hurry." I said.
"No! We need to hurry, Collin. It is not the right time to be slow. We need to find him immediately so that we will find the solution for this problem. This f*cking problem that destroying our world and the society." he said.
He looks at me as if his asking for appreciation.
We continue to walk while he's taking a flashlight in every trees that we passed.
I just can't believe that we're so lucky because this place is away from people so we wished that we can't found zombies here.
