Chapter 20 : A being in the Darkness.

Ray entered the Deadland without any trouble. Deadland occupies a vast region, no one had ever fully explored this land.

Even a Venerable doesn't dare to be careless here. There was a rumor about Astral Cloud Venerable visiting this land but after his return he never expressed anything about his journey to the world. People can obviously guess a few things. Deadland was filled with snow white miasma which can lead to all kinds of illusions. The weaker your heart is the stronger its effect. A weak hearted person can never leave this land alive, of course he has to be extremely strong as well or else they won't be able to survive the danger that would come. As soon as a person enters the white miasma it'll block all of his sensory abilities, he can only show half of his spirit weapons power because his spirit strength will also be affected. If that person is extremely strong then his sensory abilities will only be suppressed to an extent.

As soon as Ray stepped into the land he saw extremely thick miasma covered everywhere, preventing anyone from observing. Of course this kind of miasma couldn't elude his eyes. He chuckled slightly while looking deeper into an unknown location. His gaze was like a torch in the dark. He walked leisurely as if it was his own courtyard. For him there was no danger to speak of. It was like everyone knows the arrival of a death god and could only hide in their house to escape from its clutch. Ray looked under his feet, bent his waist slightly looking down, he penetrated his hand inside the soil with lightning speed,dragging something out of the soil. Its size was huge with a shape like human but without any flesh on its body. No matter how much it struggled desperately but all in vain, Rays hand was like an iron grip grabbed its fleshless skull tightly. He dug out its heart with another hand and squeezed it hard. A black liquid full of vigor slowly dripped from its heart. Ray looked at the black liquids for a while and threw both the monster and its heart away.

Ray walked deeper as he arrived infront of a bottomless black pit. Howling noises came from inside, anyone would be scared out of their mind. Ray directly jumped into the pit without any hesitation.He finally landed into the ground with a 'plop' sound after falling for an unknown amount of time. Ray was relaxed without any worries as if nothing in the world could ever faze him. His surroundings were full of deep darkness. The darkness was so deep that one couldn't even see his own hands let alone moving forward.Ray looked around slowly and finally said.

" And here i thought you were dead, but here you are still alive even after that, living the life of a cockroach. "

" Humph.... " A cold snort came from the darkness, it was so loud that the land beneath trembled, shaking the entire forbidden land.

" I knew it, you wouldn't die either , after all you were the best test subject among all the others." An ancient voice sounded as if it came from directly traveling through the vast river of time.

" I won't deny it. I was young and weak at that time . " Ray didn't get angry but said with a smile. " Look at me now, I destroyed your fleshy body, dragged you down frome high above. Aren't you angry? Come on, take me down i'm infront of you. " Ray mocked it.

A terrifying and vast aura exploded from inside the darkness. What venerable? Even in Celestial world where Heavenly Paragon's reign supreme, infront of this aura Heavenly Paragon's are just ants that's all. There's only one word that could describe its horror 'Immeasurable'.

Currently this being was extremely weak but it could pinch a Heavenly Paragon to death. Then how horrifying was it when it was in its prime.

Ray stood there calmly without any ripple in his eyes. This being knows that if he attack Ray right now then it means only one thing for him ' Death '. He didn't dare to attack, he hasn't even recovered three percent of his previous strength, even after devouring the essence of those people who came to this land for treasure or to explore since millions of years . He was trapped and suppressed in this world from the very beginning . This world won't allow its escape. Ray was the true master of this artificial world. This world represents Rays will and thoughts. If he tries to fight with him here then the consequences would be disastrous.

The being in the darkness withdrew his aura and spoke in a low tone. " What do you want? Surely you aren't here just to mock me."

" Don't you already know your worth? Why ask again? Ray said with a smile.

" I don't know much. " The being said flatly.

" Let's hear it. After all it has been a long time since we had a chat like this. " Ray said with a friendly smile on his face.
