Finding the Missing Gemini Twin

I wiggled my toes so my feet would sink deeper into the sand, grounding me to the beach. The water now cool as the summer ends slowly crept up to my ankles then pulled back to the ocean. "Maze! We are ready to go!" Britney shouted from behind me. I glanced back to look at her but didn't move, so she ran towards me with her icy blue hair bouncing in the wind with each stride. "Did you hear me? The boys finished packing up the truck, we're all ready to go! Are you?" Her Pale blue eyes almost matched her hair as she stood there waiting for a response. I smiled and took a step toward her but froze after taking one step.  She frowned as she saw my face darken. The pressure of gravity holding me down seemed to have grown stronger and felt like it was pulling half my soul to Hades. I reached a hand to my chest as if it would help keep me afloat. Gone. He's gone, how? I could see Britney's mouth moving but I heard nothing. I can't breath, where is he?! Britney's hands reach out to me but it's too late I'm already going down. Right before everything goes black I see Britney scream out for her mate's help.  "Maze." A low husky voice called out to me into the darkness of my unconsciousness."DAMIAN!" I woke screaming his name as I sat up on a couch. What the h*ll, how did I get here? I looked around the familiar living room of my dad's house and saw Britney and her mate sitting on the floor next to me. "Ssshhhhh, it's ok" sensing my confusion Britney continued, "Josh carried you to the truck as soon as you went down and we took you here as fast as we could." Josh was her brother who stood at the edge of the couch looking at me with concern in his eyes, as all three of them were. My father walked around the corner with a glass of water and brought it to me, as I reached for the glass our eyes locked. His face looked as grim as I felt, HE KNOWS. "You need to go home now" My father spoke not breaking eye contact, his eyes were a dark emerald green just like mine, but right now they were bottomless pits of black. "W-what, home? What's happening?" Britney stammered looking at both my dad and I confused.  I answered without breaking gaze with my father, "Blackwater, it's a small town up north." Turning around and walking away towards my room my Father turned around and walked towards my room, to help pack my stuff so I could explain to my werewolf friends what's going on. Britney and her mate Andy looked up at me from the floor waiting patiently. "As you know I'm a Gemini twin, what many people don't know is that on our 17th birthday something bad is fated to happen to one or both of the twins if not separated until their 18th Birthday." Pausing, I took a deep breath and looked at the faces of my friends, supernatural creatures, such as werewolves, don't know much about Gemini Twins, probably due to the fact that they are very rare. "You turn 18 next weekend" Andy spoke up with worry on his face, he knew how much his mate Britney cared about me which meant he cared too. I nodded then lowered my head to look at my hands that rested in my lap. "The bond between Gemini Twins is extremely powerful, before we turn 18 we can sense where the other is without being with them, and sometimes we can feel each other's emotions. After our 18th birthday our power only grows; communicating telepathically, appearing to one another without physically being there, and in even more rare cases telekinesis is achieved." My eyes started to tear up so I kept looking at my hands while I spoke. Britney chimed in when I took another deep breath so I could prevent myself from loosing it, "So If you aren't with your brother right now he and you are safe right?" She looked at her mate then to her brother who didn't move since I came around. "That's the thing," I could feel the sobs ready to escape my throat so I let my head fall into my hands so my dark brown hair fell to cover my face as I let the first tear finally shed, "he's gone, I can't feel him.." Crying and shaking, I couldn't hold back anymore "Maze" all three of them said at the same time so I would look up at them all. Britney reached out to wipe the tears from my face "What can we do?" she asked. "Nothing, he's not here. He's in the Unseen, the realm of darkness and nothingness. I'm the only one who can save him." Britney and Andy both stood up and helped me up as well "Then go find him Maze, you can do this! We all believe in you." Pulling me into an embrace all four of us stood there what seemed like forever, goodbyes sucked, but finding my brother was all I could think about. BlackWater was different from my father's house, half the town were human while the other half was supernatural. Werewolves, vampires, fairies, you name it, but Damian and I were the only Gemini twins there and all of the supernatural part of town knew it.  The flight up to BlackWater was only an hour but it felt like years, I haven't seen Damian in almost a year and now I don't know if I ever will again. My mother picked me up from the air port, we shared a silent hug before I threw my bags in the trunk of her car. After getting in the car I spaced out looking out of the window wondering and reaching out to see if I could feel Damian here at home. I could but it was faint, he's definitely in the unseen, now how do I pull him out? Where do I need to be to do this and bring my other half home. My eyes started to water again, NO I need to be strong for the both of us, I wiped my eyes of the unshed tears and looked out the window of my mom's car. We were both silent for almost the whole car ride home until she softly spoke up almost as if it were a whisper. "Can you feel him now that you are home?" We passed and old wooden sign on the right side of the road that had painted on it in black 'Welcome to BLACKWATER'. I looked over to her and slowly nodded "But it's faint, probably because he is in the Unseen..." She gasped and looked over at me horrified, Her blood line has the Gemini twin and she was a Gemini twin before my brother and I but her parents didn't believe in the separation at their 17th birthday, probably because her father and brother didn't have anything bad happen the year after they turned 17. Lucky them. My mother on the other hand had a brother, but because her twin was a different s*x than she was the bad omen attached to the Gemini twins are more probable. My mother absorbed my uncle that I was never able to meet. She doesn't talk about him, I don't even know his name, but I think he is within her still able to communicate with only her and I think she blames herself and refused to let that happen to her own kids. "Rhage is at the house waiting for us, he's pretty shaken up about Damian's disappearance" My mother changed the subject, Rhage was a werewolf who was my brother's best friend and Guardian. Gemini Twins are the only ones who seem to get Guardian's, they are always werewolves due to their loyalty and strength. Finding a Guardian has been described similar to a werewolf finding their mate. The bond and pull is so strong between the two they are almost inseparable, the need to protect their Gemini twin keeps them at their side almost 24-7. The only thing that can release a Guardian from their bond to a Gemini twin is finding their mate. Which is what happened with Britney and I, when I moved to my father's house I met Britney at the beach and we were inseparable until she found her mate Andy. "Will he be staying with us to help me find Damian?" I always had a crush on Rhage but I knew he would soon find his mate after he turned 17. Thankfully I left before that so I wouldn't have to watch him with another girl. My mother nodded "He been living with us since you left to stay with your father, so yes."
