Chapter 69.5: Death

Nyx wanted to use his sword intent to make the array broke as he was now trapped in the forest for a day and has been eating the nearby magical beast that attacked him and Nyx of course roasted them or fried them in his cooking oil and had a good relaxing day but he remembered his parents were most likely trapped in this forest the same as him because of this stupid array.

"[One Sword s***h]" I then muttered this same words I always used to say to fight back then, my ultimate move it has only one move but it was enough for anything to be sweep and swallowed by the strong chaotic abyss energy in this one s***h.

'This was the ultimate technique I made my self when I got my first heavenly level technique and from there used it as a reference to make my own sword style but, I still lack the power and body to fully bring out it's true power but this should be more than enough a sword intent is not that easy to cultivate and comprehend even though I have the experience of a lifetime I'm still having trouble trying to gain my original power back then...'

Nyx then looked at his Katana swallowed up by a dark sword intent that radiates a green color outline and slashed the forest ruthlessly.

As Nyx slashed his sword releasing a giant wave of dark clored intent with a green outline that looked like a giant wave that swallowed the trees that were in the way of the sword s***h that was as tall as the nearby trees and soon enough it destroyed the trees and even made the massive magic circle shake and become unstable and finally Nyx broke ten percent of the magic circle but it wasn't enough to destroy it because the core was still intact and that was the mutant zombie slowly evolving to it's final form.

The hordes of zombies was now everywhere in the forest roaming in order to gather more undead but it was not that easy as the low level zombies will just be slaughtered by the higher ranked magical beast, but it was not like it wasn't working the undead army were slowly growing in numbers and even some zombies roamed around the Grannar village.

A day has passed since Nyx broke out of the forest in laid with an array but it was more difficult so because of the magic and the spell it used has a core in the center in order to work properly and Nyx haven't found the core of the magic circle yet.

"Have you heard..? undead monsters are roaming the forest lately... and there were even rumors that villages scattered around the forest are being actively attack and wipe out..! A middle age woman said.

"Really..? I thought it was just story to scare off the kids so they won't dare go to the Primeval forest to play... but I can't believe the Kingdom aren't doing anything about it!" Another middle age villager said.

"Haiz... that's because the Grannar village is pretty remote and the village doesn't offer anything other than some exotic foods like fruits and vegetables and the main attraction for adventurers and mercenary, the rare ores in the desolate mountain surrounding the Grannar village..!" The two conversed as other people listening in the streets under the gaze of the sun as the Guards and the hunters now actively guarding the Grannar village after what just happened to them a day ago and now Terran and Zira were not back yet.

"Sir, the people are already talking about our current situation... the undead monsters are coming day by day and we can't always hide it from the people and sir Terran and ma'am Zira are still not here at the moment..." A guard in a ragtag suit of armor and a Katana as a sword.

"Could it be... that sir Terran and ma'am Zira are caught up by the undead creatures..?" Another knight said.

"Hmm... that is also possible, and it is possible that they are dealing with them swiftly as they can for the people's safety..." Kenny said.

"..."

The guards went quite as they slowly walk in the roads insuring the people's safety and hoping that what captain Kenny said was true, but the demon who was now controlling the mutant zombie and the magic array has swiftly used the magic array to lead Zira and Terran away from the undead creatures

Although the demon was angry that a human child broke the magic circle a bit but it still function as it was intented to so Zira and Terran were now trapped for two days in the Primeval forest.

While Nyx was busy making a plan to break the magical barrier but for that he needed the heart confusion vanquishing talisman in order to not get lost, but it was easier said than done Nyx had to gather the right materials in order to make one.

The mutant zombie has already gathered undead monsters as his army now it almost reached in three hundreds as the stench and the aura of the undead slowly arose from the forest and making more undead creatures as they move on and s*******r the living beings, but not all the villages outside of Grannar village was wipe out some managed to escape while some managed to survive and run away while bloodied and injured

Some got safely to the Grannar village but only after a day because of the roaming zombies and some managed to be lucky and found the broken part of the magic circle and got out safely.

Another day passed and Nyx was still gathering the materials, for that he needed a spiritual wood which he found quickly because of the past village festival and they used spiritual woods that has been enriched by the five elements and Nyx only need to make a paper talisman and use a rank two blood of a magical beast in order for the talisman to properly work and write the runes using the blood as for that Nyx already had the level three magical beast the demonic ape as for writing the runes Nyx already has an experience of a lifetime so Nyx only needs to make enough for everyone and he needed all their help but as for the rest Nyx wasn't sure of the dangers so he made pills for enhancing ones blood and strength for a short period of time and healing pills to heal any injuries and made weapons for everyone but as Nyx did this in the following three days the undead army grew stronger and the mutant undead was now at it's final evolution.

Four days in total has passed but Nyx has barely have everything ready, but the talismans are all set and the magic circle in the forest would not affect anyone who have the heart confusion vanquishing talisman.

"Everything seems to be ready, good thing I have killed that ape back then and only need some blood of it be delivered here in time and for that I asked Helbert for safety in going to the forest and making sure he doesn't step foot in the magic circle... the only problem now is that finding the core..." I looked at the map I in laid in the small room in the tree house as I have readied everything.

'I don't know why but the demi humans seems to have not gone and go to their homelands... and why are they helping me, but it's a good thing they are here to help me... I hope my mom and dad are okay, this time I have a family to protect and I must protect them this time with all I have..!'

"Yosh! Everything's good, Paul call Helbert and gather everyone at the foot of the cliff" I then rolled the map to my hands and told Paul to come with us this time

Ayesha and Lisa were still back in the Grannar village, they are the last line of defense in the village if something happens and sister Maria learned healing magic from me with science of course and teaching her basic healing techniques resulting to her now being a good support to the team.

"Alright... *yawn*" Paul walked out of the room going down the stairs and jumped down like a monkey from branch to branch.

"Hmm... Paul seems to be giving his best this days, but it isn't always good to push your self always like this... and wait his cultivation technique has a stupid flaw that when he will complete his body refining to the basic level and create a energy only those from the race of Asura had... and it's called Chaos QI they were the one of the first race to be born and some humans have a special Asura psyche and created this cultivation method but once one has reached the basic body refining level he will undergo into a berserk state for the first time... I hope Paul will be alright that time and I also hope I can bring down my friend without a though fight" I sighted as I looked at the trees and flew out of the window using my mana to fly with my cultivation realm and soon reached the cliff face in around five minutes and saw Paul dashing like a cheetah on hunt with his beast like speed.

"Flying spell..? young master I didn't think you could fly?" Helbert asked as the other demi humans present were also shocked and curious.

"Nope... it's because my cultivation realm has reached the Sky rendering realm and has grasped the law of heaven and earth and was bestowed the ability to freely fly using my mana and speed up" As laughed as they asked such obvious thing to me.

"Whoa... you... you are here first than me... Nyx you are really fast" Paul arrived and was surprised to see Nyx arrived before him.

"Hahaha, you can also be as fast as me when you reach my realm and work harder" I laughed as I encourage them and use this moment to draw their attention to my great cause, and that's spreading cultivation.

"Cultivation is really mysterious..." A Racoon beast man said.

The others murmur and said the same thing, but as Nyx felt the mana in the forest he felt Zira's mana slowly weakening and Terran's mana far away from his mom and felt the death in the air

It was the stench and the undead mana that lingers in the forest and one particular mana that was even stronger than Zira.

Nyx felt a sharp pain in his chest as Zira's mana completely dissappeared and her mana spread to the surroundings as it disperse Nyx was shock

He was so shock that his anger bloomed from his first life as a trash son, and his second life as a naive man, and now as a son Zira and Terran he failed to protect their family even with his knowledge.

Nyx knew this very well, the only thing that a persons aura and QI disappears is when a person dies and his spirit goes into the cycle of reincarnation and go to the heaven and his power goes back to the earth from where it originally came from.

"... Mother f*cker..!" I went into rage as I released my killing intent and used all my might to dash and ran along the cliff and flew as I float up in the sky I used my every means to clearly see everything.

As Nyx floated upwards Helbert, Paul, Flora and Elena couldn't breath for a second and the immense pressure was still there even though Nyx was now five hundred meters away from them it was just how strong Nyx killing intent was

Nyx's eyes had shown it's vein as he used his blood to enhance his vision and used his mana to cover his eyes and soon enough it worked now Nyx's eyes were like a telescope and finally saw a horde of undead in a single area and saw a man fighting them but the undead creatures were being pushed back by that man and it none other than Terran but the giant tree's where in the way and Nyx couldn't see properly but he saw Terran was alright.

But the next scene Nyx made his heart shake and felt it broke in a million pieces as he saw a body being slowly crushed by a giant undead that towers at least forty meters tall and the human that was being torn apart by it's own hands

Nyx was enraged by thus scene and exploded in anger as his mana burst from his body a deep blood red mana surge out and the surrounding air swirled as his overwhelming mana was released and coupled with Nyx's killing intent the nearby mountains with giant cliffs that was being the home ground for the Wyverns were suddenly went to chaos as the Wyverns flew in different directions as they felt the intense mana they only thought it was an unbeatable enemy and panicked and the dragons that had their lair nearby felt danger for the first time since they were born.

"Don't f**k with me..! this f*****g bastard I'll take your soul and t*****e you in the next tens of thousands of years slowly burned by spiritual flame! I'll freaking s*******r all your family..!!!" I went enraged as I flew down like a meteor and came crashing ro the trees razing them to the ground like they were made out of twigs and slaughtered hundreds of undead creatures as I took their soul and ate them to further strengthen my self.

'For hundreds of years I have accumulated hundreds and thousands of techniques and the sky soul devouring technique is one of them! This technique allows my to absorb souls directly and digest them to become my own spiritual power and absorb their ghost QI to further strengthen my self... with this many undead I can easily s*******r them and become stronger but the problem is I'll have a backlash and my spirit would be wounded that was for the normal case, but for me now with my supreme level cultivation technique that uses the secret of the gods a body that has integrated with the flesh and soul to become stronger and close to immortality, I can eat all I want and s*******r all I want! I'll kill all of you stupid undead and zombie's I'll also be visiting your master soon enough!'

Nyx went into a rampage as he slaughtered his way to Zira and the mutant zombie as the hordes of zombies and undead monsters has created a gap between them, but Nyx has already gain strength enough to s*******r ten thousand of army alone and this thousand of ragtag zombies is not even a warm up to Nyx's full strength

Nyx used his hands to fight like a beast and rampage and created a huge commotion as the undead flew with every movement of Nyx's hands with his dark red b****y colored mana and his eyes focused as he fought all he undead without a blind spot the veins in his eyes showing as his hard refined well toned body was slowly covered by the stagnant blood of the undead as his eyes turned b****y like a beast and as the zombies looked like twigs in front of the storm the Wyverns saw a rising opponent and wanted to just who startled their slumber and the dragons watching from their layer as Nyx slaughtered all those zombies and the limbs flying and the guts and eye balls flaw past the trees Nyx cried out in anger and dashed with all four limbs like a wolf on a hunt Nyx's gaze locked to the mutant zombie ordering the zombie horde and holding a human girl in it's hands.

Nyx felt the intense mana and the oppressive undead mana in the air but Nyx's mana was enough to drive this lowly pressure away any normal human would succumb and kneel in front of such a pressure

But Nyx went into rage as he saw his mother with injuries and blood slowly dripping from her body as her clothes were torn apart, Nyx took too much time preparing for the rescue mission but he didn't think there would be a monster who could go up against his mom and let his guard down.

Nyx wanted to cry but his emotion triggred an unknown power as his mana slowly diminished but his hair slowly turned darker like when he was still Xiao Rong the dark jet black hair and his eyes had the ember mark color as his face turned pale and his fangs grew longer.

Nyx was very familiar with this feeling, it was the vampire transformation but in order to do this he needs intensive training and need different pills and blood of beast to succesfully have a strong vampiric body but now he has achieved this with only rage and sorrow as he felt the sky came crashing down to him.

'Not enough...'

Nyx only saw the mutant zombie as his enemy as he slaughtered all the zombies around him like flies as he slaughtered every last one of them.

Nyx looked at the mutant zombie with bloodshot eyes as his mana surge like a storm and teared through the army of undead, a giant ape magical beast tried to sneak attack Nyx but Nyx has divine sense and can easily detect any attack that is just brute force and nothing to it so Nyx just slapped the giant undead ape and it's body burst open like a balloon full of water as Nyx tap it with a slight motion

But the mutant zombie felt it, he felt Nyx's deep power and the killing intent was enough for it to tremble in fear as he was locked in space.

The mutant zombie had suddenly realized that he couldn't move even an inch, it tried to struggle that it burst open it's own back as black blood jetted out on the open wound but he can barely move himself it was as if a giant invisible hand was holding it.

"Space lock..." Nyx casually said this words but the law of space he was using was in the fifth level and without Nyx noticing he used his original power that he had back then, but it was not like it didn't had any draw back his spiritual power wasn't enough to fully control this power and his mana was running dry because of the Vampire transformation.

'I got to kill this bastard first while I locked the space surrounding his body to make sure not even it's finger can ever hurt my mom!'

Nyx wanted to finish this all at once and the only thing that came to mind was a spell, a spell is created when chanting or memorizing that certain spell to a degree that one can chang with only one word

But Nyx was different he knew many arrays and how the natural things works both in heaven and earth as his past lives has both Science and Cultivation his first life dove in the knowledge of the universe and it's unknown mysteries and his second life he has known how those unknown mysteries were made and was happened making Nyx's array comprehension and knowledge in the past broad.

"Divine chess array..!" I then waved my hand as I poured my every last breath of mana in my three elements.

'I don't know if elemental mana will work but I hope this works and I can turn this around with this level of undead, their intelligence and consciousness I can easily control them using the Divine chess array'

Nyx waved his hands and the surrounding area has turned into a giant chess that was formed by his red blood mana as a giant chess board and the hundreds of meters of a forest full of trees was enveloped by a giant array the mutant zombie saw this gigantic spell and felt something was wrong but his pride as a once noble and a high ranking demon clouded his thoughts.

"Human... attack... him..!" The mutant zombie said as it struggled to even move it's mouth from Nyx's bindings.

The undead creatures, humans, pack of wolves and even small creatures such as birds became a zombie as they all rushed towards Nyx they suddenly felt an intense pressure and the giant floating Divine chess array suddenly slammed their way the trees the leaves and the small creatures such as bugs got blown away by the sudden intense air pressure and the zombies kneeled before the great array as they were suppressed the array controlled their mind but in that instant they saw their memories from being a human and turned all their gazes to the mutant zombie as each and every one of them growled in anger as they no longer knew human language and Nyx controlled the array perfectly and was barely holding on.

A certain zombie remembered what has happened and remembered his son and daughter as he let them flee and tried to protect his wife he gained his sentience once again and his body was suddenly enveloped by the mana of the Divine chess array and gained strength

His once bony arms now grew with flesh once more and his face that was wrinkled by death was once again revitalise by this new power.

The hundreds of meters of woods was suddenly gone in an instant and was replaced by a giant chess board that spans to hundreds of meters that Nyx has full control of some zombies gained sentience and was crowned as Dark Knight by the System and the normal zombies only remember a fraction of their memories and formed an army of undead in a chess formation and Nyx was the King that was controlling all of them, the demon was surprised and got intimidated as he saw Nyx's performance and didn't think a human child can pull such a feat meanwhile the mutant zombie was in rage as it saw how this lowly human turned his army against him.

"Against a lowlife like you... I actually used this array that I painstakingly created back then to help my self survive in a war..! Normally this is used to control puppets or corpses and just my luck that there are about thousands of zombies present here... Eat him!" I then waved my hands towards the gigantic Mutant zombie as the hordes of zombies in a chess board formation ran towards the mutant zombie like crazy.

Unlike the normal sixteen chess pieces you get Nyx had an army of undead but some evolved due to the Divine chess array that Nyx had created and looked like a Knight with a black bone armor and it's face has half the normal armor and the other half was it's original face now revitalised.

The first row has normal zombies in it and the second row had many different evolved zombies that has different appearances and sizes but Nyx watched everything play out as the zombies approached the giant mutant zombie that was frozen in place by Nyx using the Law of space and unable to move the mutant zombie was massacred alive as the zombies slowly eat the mutant zombie like what he did to their families.

The mutant zombie cried in pain as he tried to struggle and break free his body started to c***k and crumble by the sudden strong pressure of the space force he saw the human controlling everything, his plans was ruined by a one human like what happened in the past he was killed in an instant but now it was worst he was being slowly tortured till he dies.

"Damn... you..! Humans..." The mutant zombie said with both heads saying at the same time making a creepy voice out of it.

Nyx crushed the mutant zombies giant body with his last remaining mana.

'Agh... I really am stupid casting a giant array just to control this measly zombies... but it worked but now my mana reserves are out both my wind and earth element was drained only my darkness element has a little bit of mana left...'

"As I thought... crushing that giant zombie was harder that I thought..." I then panted as I collapsed besides the zombie hordes but I never lose my consciousness as I made sure to have a little mana left to sustain my own body.

The mutant zombie's body got ripped in shreds as the giant thirty to forty meters tall zombie it's body suddenly burst open, it's limbs got turned around effortlessly as his ugly body with his internal organs that was swinging around got crushed the mutant zombie felt and saw it's own body get shredded to pieces

It only thought, this is the real power of a being stronger than death. The mysterious demon was also surprised and was angry at the same time, his plan to kill all the two humans that could potentially be connected to the mysterious black figure has failed

But it was not like he could not kill Zira, the mutant zombies heads were still intact and it's limbs was scattered around but Zira was still in one of the limbs as zombies barely feel pain but the mutant zombie has evolve and got back a portion of his sense of pain it's arms were still holding Zira and the four limbs that were scattered around suddenly moved and lunged towards a certain arm as Nyx saw this, he knew that that was where his mom was and this bastard was still trying to kill his mom.

Nyx wanted to rush out but his lack of mana made him unable to do so, but good thing a Dark Knight zombie suddenly moved on it's own and blocked one arm as the two clashed the air swirl around the giant limb and a Dark Knight that blocked the giant arm soon another Dark Knight like zombie's started to gather, Nyx only thought of one thing he wanted to save his mom and didn't think that the Divine chess array was still working normally the undead would only roam and not attack any living beings for a couple of days but in this situation the zombies moved for him.

The giant arm was like a spider crawling with it's fingers and the Dark Knight zombie only had a dark bone sword in it's right hand as a weapon and tried to fight back but it only prove the lack of the class and power the defense of the mutant zombie was on par with a Dragon, an SSS class magical beast that is treated as a calamity level monster and the mutant zombie was almost at it's level and the defense was as hard an iron the skin itself was hard that it made an iron sound whenever a Dark Knight swing it's sword fending off the rest of the arms but the arm with Zira on it didn't moved but instead tried it's best to crush Zira but as Nyx saw this he felt a very heavy feeling he felt that death was always near him, both to him and to his loved ones

Zira was very kind and gentle to Nyx even when he was a weird kid and did nothing normal like any other kid, his mother loved him without a second thought Terran also took care of Nyx when he makes troubles and mistakes to Zira it was a warm feeling but now that feeling is about to be robbed by death.

"I don't... f*cking agree to this shit..!" I used the rest of my mana to strengthen my body and activated the vampire transformation again but saw the two heads of the mutant zombies acting weird.

'It is as if... No..!'

"They are trying to blow up their undead crystal and die together with my mom..! I gotta hurry... faster..!" I gritted mt teeth as I saw the two heads started expanding and the mana around them started to get chaotic.

*BOOM!*

A giant explosion occured when Nyx finally stood up and rushed the arm that was holding Zira was about thirty meters away but the mutant zombie's heads moved using it's vertebrae to move and grow a small tentacles that was used to moved closer to Zira and as it closed in to Zira it exploded with all of it's power and an explosion that swallowed twenty meters of the area making a giant crater was made Nyx wanted to save Zira but he got blown away by the shockwave making him kneel in order to make himself stable and the rest of the four limbs were blown away to the hordes of zombies and was attacked by them and dissappeared in an instant and the Dark Knight that were closer got blown away and broke their dark bone armor some even got their body separated but Zira on the other hand was missing.

Nyx didn't want to believe it but his mother died in front of him, he felt that he made the wrong decision and not killed the enemy in one blow

He wanted to save his mother this time with his knowledge and current realm level was enough to do so as he thought, but he was being slowed down by the undead and the mutant zombie was already fighting with Zira for god who knows how long it could have been a whole day and Nyx regretted his decision once again.

"I just wanted to live with my family... why... why is... "
