Bronze Magic

612 Words
A loud knocking broke me out of my stupor. "Is everything okay son?" I heard mom's voice. "E-Everythings fine," I replied. I turned my gaze to the bronze card. [CHRYSANTHEMUM BURST] RANK - BRONZE TYPE - MAGIC [At the cost of 20 MP, explode the target chrysanthemum, causing initial silver rank damage at the radius of 10 meters] I instinctively clenched my butt when I saw the card name. First the S&M whip and now this. I couldn't help but think that the [WRATH OF LIFE] card pack was full of weird fetishes. In any case, this would be a great trump card. The enemy would never see it coming. **** [MUDBOAR LAKE] RANK - COPPER I stared at the stele near the copper gate. Other than the name and rank of the gate, there is nothing else. Makes you wonder how the government has a budget for a stele but no gold to spare for a public restroom. Shaking my head, I entered the gate. Mudboars are low-rank beasts that drop cores. They are the main source of income for any hunter below iron-rank. It wasn't long before I found the mudboar herd, it was one of the reasons why I was here. First, they come in groups and second, they have buttholes I can burst. Ten minutes later, I was running for my life. Behind me was a stampede of hairy pigs. This was why hunters go in parties. Even though mudboars are weak, a charging herd can easily leave a person on his dying breath. "Pant. Pant." Discerning that it was the right moment, I turned around and aimed my right hand at the mudboar in the center of the group. "CHRYSANTHEMUM BURST!!!" Although I didn't need to shout, a loud voice is a definite indicator of spell casting. Especially when there's no special effects when casting magic. Yeah, it definitely wasn't because I want to look cool. Definitely. Boom. A violent explosion ensued and a miscellany of s**t, guts and fluids scattered around the crater it left. The 10 meter radius explosion almost took out the entire herd, leaving only a few stragglers which I then took care of with my whip. Few seconds later and the gory scene vanished in specks of light. Decks of cards started popping out everywhere and card after card enter my book. I received a total of 57 copper rank cards. 39 of which was [BOAR RUSH], 14 was [MUDDY FANG], 2 [LEATHER CAP], 1 [LEATHER PANTS], and lastly a [LEATHER VEST]. [BOAR RUSH] RANK - COPPER TYPE - PHYSICAL/ACTIVE [Rush forwards causing peak copper rank damage to enemies in your path. Range - 3 meters. Movement speed doubles when charging. Uses 5 MP/charge] [MUDDY FANG] RANK - COPPER TYPE - WEAPON/PHYSICAL [Can cause mid copper rank damage. When two MUDDY FANGs are equipped, damage increased to peak copper rank, attack speed doubles.] [MUDDY FANG] was a copper rank dagger, it was only natural that it gets a boost when paired with another [MUDDY FANG]. The last four cards where armor cards that can block damage below mid copper rank. As I only have two equipment sleeves for armor/accessory, I went with [LEATHER VEST] and [LEATHER PANTS]. In a flash of light, a leather vest and pants appeared over my clothes. The pants were very uncomfortable since I was wearing jeans. All of the cards were physical type. This was no surprise as mudboars weren't magical beasts to begin with. 39 [BOAR RUSH], enough to fuse a bronze rank card and 14 [MUDDY FANG], equivalent to 2 iron rank daggers. The remainders after fusing is equivalent to one iron rank card pack.
