Chapter 12

Davina

My first week at work went amazingly. I was able to get into the rhythm of things quickly and I loved my new job. Kevin was still giving me a ride to and from work. Itze offered, but I think from the look of things, he was using this as a way to see her. I don’t think I have ever seen him smile this much.

It was nice to have him happy having some small talk with her whenever they crossed paths. It was finally the weekend, and I was at my apartment tidying things around when I saw a call come through my phone. It was Itze.

“Hello?”

“Hey! First question, did you happen to give Kevin my number?”

Uh oh, was I wrong to do that? “Well, I gave him your business card. I am so sorry if that was wrong of me.”

“Oh no you are completely okay! Thank you! He called me to ask me out on a date. I am so excited and nervous! I was going to ask you, since my date is tonight, let’s go to the mall? I want to get an outfit that screams I’m classy but I’m sexy at the same time.”

“Oh I don’t know. Melody is with me right now and I am not sure if Kayla is available right now.”

“Please bring your daughter. That’s fine if your babysitter isn’t available.”

I sighed, “Alright, let me call you back.”

I walked out my door across to the other door and gave it a light knock. I heard footsteps walking up and Kayla opened the door with surprise. “Hey Davina! What’s up?”

“I was invited to go out and I wanted to ask if you wanted to watch Mel for a couple of hours?”

“Yes absolutely! Are you going on a date?” She asked while wagging her eyebrows.

“Haha no. More like some girl time with someone I work with.”

“Oh Davina, you have already made a friend, that’s great. Don’t you worry about anything. Take all the time you need.”

I grabbed my purse from my apartment to look for some cash but Kayla placed her hand over mine. “Like I said, don’t worry about it. Go enjoy yourself.” She reassured me with a smile. I gave her a hug and walked back into my apartment.

“Hey Melody, sweetheart. Mommy is going to go out for a bit, you are going to be hanging out with Kayla.”

“Can Miss Kayla make me my favorite pancakes?”

“Hmm, maybe, if you asked her nicely, she might. First, I am going to get ready, and I’ll walk you over there.”

I texted Itze back saying *Okay, childcare is covered*

She replied *YAS! Send me your address! *

I texted my address and she responded *I’ll see you in about 20 mins! Smiley Emoji*

I wore some high-waisted dark blue jeans and a black top. I decided to let my waves down. I put some concealer under my eyes to hide the dark circles and mascara to make my eyes pop. I put on my converses and wore a tan, orange cardigan that was in the bigger size. I got Itze’s text saying she was here, and I walked Mel across the way. I gave her a hug and a kiss and made my way outside.

We made it over to the mall and after 6 stores later, Itze decided on an apricot plaid criss cross suspender skirt that was cute and sexy with a black solid scoop neck blouse that went under the suspenders. She knew her style because it hugged all her curves at the right spots.

We sat in the food court eating pizza. She was going on about how she was thinking of curling her hair and wearing some heels that weren’t too sexy, something more with a wider heel. As I continued to listen to her ramble away, someone in the background caught my eye. He was a tall man with dark black hair and his eyes almost seemed gray. He had a full-on beard and you can tell he gets groomed regularly. Something strange was starting to come over me when Itze interrupted my thoughts.

“Hey Davina, you okay?”

I didn’t realize that I was starting to breathe faster. I looked at her and tried looking back, but the man wasn’t there any longer. She looked over to where I was staring at but didn’t see anything.

“What’s wrong?”

“Uh…Nothing. I am going to use the restroom.”

“Okay, I’ll be here. I’m just going to text Kevin where we are.”

I made my way over to the bathroom. I was looking at myself in the mirror to ground myself. Taking my breathing exercises and closing my eyes to remind myself that I am not in any danger. I am at the mall with Itze having some girl time. After taking a few breaths, I washed my hands and went out of the women’s restroom. I was fine until I walked into the man I was just staring at. He wore black jeans with a dark grey shirt and had a black jacket with a grey hood. He looked down at me and smiled. I noticed his dimples coming through. And he finally spoke.

“Hi, sorry about that. I didn’t mean to bump into you.”

“Oh…I. No, it’s okay completely my fault.”

“I’m sorry if I may have come off as too much when I saw you earlier, you just have the face of someone I knew.”

“Well, it happens sometimes, I guess.”

“What’s your name?”

“Uh…Davina.”

“Davina. That’s beautiful. My name is Tom.”

“It’s nice to meet you.”

I felt uncomfortable because of his intense gaze. So I used it as a way to leave. “Well, I’m going to head back to my friend.”

He grabbed my arm gently and sent chills down my spine. “I was wondering if you would let me take you out sometime?”

I don’t know this man, quite frankly, he gives me this feeling of uneasiness. Luckily, Itze made her way to us. “Hey, is everything okay?” she asked.

I took my arm away from him. “Yeah, everything is fine. Let’s go.”

She grabbed my hand protectively and we rushed our way out to her car. We left in silence, but Itze couldn’t take it anymore. “Davina, did you know that man?”

“I don’t know him.” But deep down I feel like I do. I just wasn’t ready to admit that to her.

“What did he want?”

“He told me that I looked like someone he knew.”

“Eww, creep status much? I had this feeling that you were gone for a while, so I decided to go check on you. Good thing I did because he was staring and holding you like you were a piece of meat.”

I am so thankful to the woman. She saved me from an awkward encounter.

“Thank you for that. I didn’t know how to break away from him.”

“No worries, I will cut a dude if I need to. Just from now on, we will go together to the restroom, okay?”

“Deal!” I replied.

She’s alive. That omega is alive and she’s living like a human. Her scent is completely gone, but she doesn’t have the scent of a human either. No wonder it took 10 years to find her. It was rumored that she was dead, and I began to believe in that but, I saw her. She has grown into a woman. Her curves are thicker and plump. She has a bit of a tummy, but it still does not take away from all her assets. Her eyes are different now. They are dark, almost black when before they were yellow. It may be someone different, but after touching her, I knew it was Eliza. Her damn friend interrupted our moment. f*****g humans cannot manage to stay out of other people’s affairs.

I made my way to the SUV where I had my Beta Derrick sitting waiting.

“What happened?”

“I finally found Eliza.”

His eyes widened “What are you planning to do?”

I smirked “I wasn’t finished with her all those years ago. She also escaped my grasp, meaning that she is now a traitor to the Mountain View pack. Before anything, I want to be able to relive a moment that happened to us.”

Derrick gave me a questioning look but started the SUV. In time, gorgeous, I will mount myself over you and make you scream again before you die.
