The clumsy fall. Laurette sat on the beautifully craved wooden chair quietly. She wondered how big Peggy's workplace was as well known business man and women were around and not only them too, celebrities also. She was greatly surprised but remained calm,sitted in a corner sipping her juice. Well,she heard from the people at the party that it was a welcome dinner party for the son of the dead business tycoon,he died few weeks ago and his son had come to manage his business. Laurette also sighted some journalist of famous station with their cameraman,she concluded the man they all were waiting for must be a popular and wealthy man. A sleek black Jeep pulled up in front of the party gate and a door opened,a tall man whose back was turned to the party stepped out. Immediately, the journalists ran to him as the gate opened with their cameramen flashing lights here and there with their cameras. Laurette didn't get the chance to see him as they were obstructing her view, Peggy came to her looking all gorgeous in her long gown. ' Come on,old lady. He is here! ' She declared in excitement. Laurette looked at her in confusion. ' So,what if he's here? You only brought me here to take some juice. Am even out of here, everything here is just boring.' She replied as she stood up. Peggy, astonished asked ' Boring?are you serious right now?.' ' Of course, when you're done seeing your prince charming, meet me at home.' Laurette replied giving her a tone of indifference. She took the glass of juice,drank it and dropped the glass on the table. She then took her purse and bid peggy a friendly goodbye, though peggy looked away in annoyance. As she passed through the happy crowd welcoming whoever the man was,a man running from her back hits her unintentionally as it seems he also wants to see the wealthy man. Laurette lost her balance and unexpectedly fell into the pool beside her with a splash. Few of them laughed but Laurette didn't find it funny at all. Peggy ran to the pool,she was embarrassed and stared at her friend in the pool. ' What are you doing? come out! ' She said quietly and Laurette tried to come out but the stairs was slippery which made her tried to fall back the second time but a long hand from nowhere grabbed her hand swiftly. Everyone was stunned at the sudden turn of events. Laurette eyes which were closed as she thought she was going to fall back opened slowly. She widened her eyes in shock,it was the face had longed to see for a long time. She didn't know what to say,words were lost,her thoughts was left with nothing but vengeance. This same face that helped her had caused her so much pains....... ' Seems you are having a good time in the pool, ma'am' His baritone voice said and and some "foolish" people as Laurette described to be laughed,she wondered if they were normal. Peggy also chuckled and Laurette could see how clearly she was trying to flirt with him,what a pervert! She thought. He pulled her out with force that she came forward to his body,she tried to stop her body but the force was too much. She was very drenched and it was already making his dried suit wet. She never expected her head resting on his beating heart, this was the man she hated with all her life and soul. She was about to stand on herself when he suddenly took off his jacket and covered her with it. ' I understand you are cold but I have used something to cover you, don't lean on me like a leech' He said with sacarsm. Laurette became angry and immediately pushed him away,the dumb cameramen taking pictures continuously.' Will you stop that or should I break your camera?' She asked and the men slightly frightened, stopped taking pictures. She turned to the arrogant man in her front and removed the Jacket,then threw it to his chest angrily. ' I don't need your jacket,u can have it.' Everyone was amazed greatly at how a lady could talk rudely to the business tycoon,they all watched to see the results of her actions, obviously the securities would bound her out of the party. The securities came forward but he stopped them, he wasn't surprised by her actions. She bent and picked her purse which fell, thankfully it has not fell in the pool with her. She faced the smiling man confidently ' Don't act like an hero whereas you are the opposite of it.' Everyone looked at the confident woman as she walked away freely,they all continued their partying as the man wore his Jacket back. Peggy was confused,she didn't know whether to beg him or follow her adamant friend. ' Well......sir,am sorry....she is actually my friend.....' What's her name?' He interrupted,his eyes still on the gate Laurette had left. She became surprised at his question,she thought he would warn her never to attend any of his parties again or he would arrest her anywhere he saw her. ' She is Laurette, Laurette Johnson.' She replied, happy for the fact that he seemed interested in her friend and surprised at his reaction. ' Interesting name,Are you a member in the company?' He asked. ' Yes sir,...I am actually a typist.' She replied curtly, quite excited Laurette had given her the chance to speak to the handsome man. ' Good,is she also in the company?.' He asked and Peggy knowing fully well,where he was heading. ' No sir,but I can make her start work in company. she always listens to me.' ' Good! If she starts work,I will add to your salary thrice.' He replied looking at her closely. Peggy became speechless,she felt like jumping and hugging him but controlled herself. ' Thank you sir! Thank you.' She said and walked away from him, thanking her stars that Laurette came to the party with her though she forced her to but her efforts paid off.
