“I’ve never heard Turock complain so much in my life.” Luke said shifting uncomfortably in the truck seat beside me. “He’s really worried about the she-wolf, in the back of the van.”
“All the more reason she needed to come with us.” I said perkily, “She doesn’t know anyone back there, that we know of.”
“Joe said she could wake up as soon as this evening, but then again she might need a couple more days.” Kyle interjected; I think he was trying to give me hope. “She should make a full recovery.” His hand moved to rest on my thigh giving it a soft squeeze as he drove.
