Chapter 6 - The Magazine

THEIR LAST DAY here in the resort. 

Naiwan siya sa cottage habang naglalangoy sina Jordan and Georgie sa dagat. 

He never talked to her again.

She avoided him too. 

Georgie just simply thought it was because of the fight they had in the kitchen the other day. Sanay naman kasi ito na nagkakatampuhan sila ni Jordan.

She opened her twitter account to update her status.

Four day vacation is almost over, great things that happened will always be cherished

Jamila, her cousin from US tweeted back to her post .

Care to tell me about it Cuzbee?

She just smiled and logged out from her tweeter account bago pa siya kulitin ng pinsan.

HANGGANG sa muli silang makarating sa Maynila ay hindi parin sila nag-uusap ni Jordan. Si Georgie lang ang kinakausap nito, when it comes to dealing with her, he would always turn serious. Hinatid lang nito silang magkapatid sa bahay nila at pagkatapos ay muli na itong nag-drive pauwi, ni hindi na ito pumasok sa loob. Why was he acting like that towards her? As if she's the one who took advantage? Can't he remember that it was just an accident?

"Hey, I think you should say sorry to Jordy..." Georgie said habang papasok na sila ng mansion. How would her sister react kung malalaman nito ang nangyayari sa kanila ni Jordan? She felt guilty again.

"Ayoko ngang makipag-usap sa kanya!" If you only knew, Georgie

"Come on little sis, you should do it for me, afterall, ikaw ang maid of honor ko sa kasal namin."

Marriage. That word made her cringed in panic.

"Why are you getting married so soon?"

"Why not? Mahaba na ang six years na pinagsamahan namin, it's time to settle down."

"But Jordy is taking over his father's position, don't you think it's too early to get married when one is still coping up with a big responsibility in his own company?" She hoped she didn't sound so eager to oppose their wedding.

"You have a point there pretty, but Jordan wanted to rush the wedding."

Why is Jordan rushing so hard to get rid of her? Did he blame her sa mga nangyari sa kanila sa cottage?

"You sounded like you're not yet ready." She said seriously. Hoping na tama ang pakiramdam niya na hindi pa ready si Georgina magpakasal.

"Oh don't get me wrong. My greatest wish is to be Jordan's wife. It's just that the modelling offer in Paris is an opportunity I don't want to miss...pero kaya ko naman isantabi ang mga pangarap ko basta't para sa kanya."

She was about to say something when their dad interrupted.

"Oh! my two beautiful ladies has arrived! How was the vacation?"

Napalingon sila sa kanilang ama na masayang  bumababa ng hagdan. Two gorgeous ladies are trying to hide on his back and both giggling like crazy.

"Hi daddy!" Nauna na siyang lumapit sa ama at hinalikan ito sa pisngi.

"Your cousins arrive today,  Jamila and Jax." Her father announced.

"And so, why are they hiding behind you as if we didn't see them?!" Natatawang sabi ni Georgie na lumapit din at humalik sa pisngi ng ama.

"Hello cousins..."

It was Jamila's voice, she appeared first habang nagtatago parin si Jax sa likod ng daddy niya.  Napatili siya at tinakbo ng yakap ang pinsan. Best friend niya ito samantalang si Jax ay close naman kay Georgie.

"Cuzbee!!!" Tili niya. Tawagan nila ang cuzbee. Matanda lang sa kanya si Jamila ng isang taon.

"Oh-em-gee you haven't change, you still squeak like a trapped kitten!" Tukso ni Jax na lumabas na din at niyakap siya.

"Kelan kayo dumating? bakit di kayo sumunod sa beach?" Georgie asked while hugging Jax.

"We just arrived yesterday 'insan!" Sagot ni Jax.

"Are you with tita Blanca?"

"Mommy will just follow in 2 days."

"Alright ladies, just continue chatting, titingnan ko lang kung  nakahanda na ang lunch natin." Amused na sabad ni Armando nang ma-out of place ito sa chickahan ng mga bagets.

"Where's mom, dad?" Tanong ni Celestine, she suddenly missed her mom.

"She's in the kitchen, helping Nana Matilde for our lunch." Armando already walked towards the kitchen. There was a urge to follow her father to check her mom. She felt so vulnerable and she wanted to feel comforted by her mother.

"So how was the vacation?"  Hinila siya ni Jamila palayo kina Georgie at Jax. Busy din naman ang mga ito sa pagkukwentuhan. The two were of the same age kaya mag bestfriend din ang dalawa.

"It was great!"

"How's Rohan?" Mapanuksong tanong nito

"O we're good" Nakukuwento na rin niya kasi si Rohan kapag nagvi-video call sila sa skype. Their family migrated to US this year kaya sa Skype na lang sila nagkakakwentuhan.

"And Jordan?"

"Huh?"

"C'mon cuzbee, you think you can hide it from me?"

"Cuzbee?" She repeated absent mindlessly

"Cousins and best friends! you're so slow and floating!"

"Ah yeah..." Wala sa loob niyang sabi, her mind was with someone else.

Jamila rolled her eyes, kinuha nito ang isang magazine sa loob ng body bag at itinaas sa ere.

"Look what I got from you..."

Nanlaki ang mga mata niya nang makita kung sino ang cover sa isang business and finance magazine. It was Jordan Dean Lavega and Jordan Leveste? Napatili siya.

"Seriously?" Her heart was filled with excitement and joy.

"So kanino ka ba kinikilig? Kay Jordan Lavega o kay Jordan Leveste, waa pareho pang J.L. ha!" Natatawang tukso ng pinsan.

"You knew I've been crushing on Jordan Lavega eversince childhood Cuzbee, ang gwapo gwapo niya kaya tapos siya pa ang CEO ngayon ng isang reighning TV network sa bansa natin!"

She's a great fan of Jordan Lavega, lagi niyang inaabangan kahit dati pa ang kung ano mang latest news tungkol dito dahil bibihira lang naman itong lumabas sa TV. He seemed to be a very private person.

"Oh-oh! And you know what? He's now engaged with Sherry Yulo, Angelina Yulo's younger sister." Patuloy ni Jamila, abot tenga ang makahulugang ngiti. "What a coincidence right? Your sister's real name is Georgina Angeline, whereas your nickname is Sherry...siblings both involve with the same man named Jordan Leveste. Oh di ba si Jordan Lavega dating fiance ni Angelina Yulo? Look at them now, Jordan Lavega is marrying Sherrilyn Yulo instead!"

"What are you talking about Jamila? I'm not involve with Jordy" Asar talo niyang sabi. Although, bumangon din ang curiosity niya sa kinuwento nito.

"I told you, you can't hide anything from me Cuzbee, we grew up together! Why don't you just appreciate the magazine I bought for you?"

"Bakit nga pala nakasama diyan si Jordan?"

Tumaas ang kilay nito. "Para namang hindi mo alam? your Jordan is a good looking businessman, the camera spotted him in a business occasion he attended months ago with Jordan Lavega, at siguro kasi pareho silang Jordan na may malaking pangalan sa business world, it will bring attention to everyone, specially women, most specially you!"

"Stop it! Baka marinig ka pa ni Georgie!" Saway niya na pinandilatan ito ng mga mata.

"Guilty as charged? What if the same scenario happens to you? That Jordan will marry you instead of Georgie, huh?"

"Jamila, do you remember what I did to you when we were just ten?"

Banta niya. Noong mga bata pa sila ay daig pa nila ang aso't pusa kung magbangayan. Sa sobrang pagkaasar niya sa pinsan at inimudmod niya ang mukha nito sa swimming pool. Tumawa ito ng malakas pagkaalala sa eksenang iyon.

"Ang mean mo parin hanggang ngayon Celestine!"

"Alright ladies the food is ready!" Tinig iyon ng mommy niyang si Tanya.

"Cuzbee, itago mo muna 'to sa bag mo." She pushed the magazine on Jamila's bag, agad naman nitong ibinalik sa bag iyon. Sinalubong niya ang mommy niya na lumabas mula sa kitchen.

"Mommy I miss you..." Niyakap niya ito.

Her mom hugged her tight and caressed her back.

"I miss you too baby..."

Nakatitig si Celestine sa front cover ng magazine na bigay ni Jamila. Two gorgeous men standing straight, both hands inside their pocket, slightly facing each other but their eyes focused on camera. Jordan Lavega was wearing a dark blue slim fit suit while Jordan Leveste was wearing a black one button suit. Both are handsome in different ways. Jordan Lavega appeared to be the formal and stern type while Jordan Leveste have playful aura. His eyes are so alive and so...inlove?

So inlove with your sister....

There's that sudden pain again. He haven't seen him for five days now. He's clearly avoiding her, she miss him so much! Namimiss niya ang pagiging protective nito sa kanya, ang pag-aalaga nito na tila siya isang paslit na bata.

She turned to the next page. It was a picture of Jordan Lavega and Sherrilyn Yulo. 

Sherrilyn Yulo is now the new fiancee of Jordan Lavega, replacing her older sister's place.

She got curious. So it's really possible that the older sister's boyfriend will fall to his girlfriend's younger sister? How did Sherry do it? Strange...at magkakapareho pa talaga sila ng pangalan.

Just six months ago, Angelina Yulo was Jordan Lavega's fiancee. But things started to change when Angelina's ex boyfriend, the multi awarded Hollywood film director Jaq Montero came back to the Philippines to shoot his latest movie. The old s*x video of ex lovers (Jaq and Angie) hit millions of viewers when it was uploaded in youtube which made her relationship with the media mogul Jordan Lavega on the rocks...

Guess who leaked the video that marked a shocking scandal in the elite society of The Yulo family?

It was Sherrilyn Yulo! Angie's younger sister who is now  engaged to be married with Jordan Lavega.

"Believe me It wasn't my intention to hurt my sister or humiliate her in front of the whole nation." Sherry answered in an interview. "But I knew that somehow, it was worth to leak that video because my sister was back to where she really belonged...to Jaq Montero and...and I know  that someday Jordan will fall inlove with me too..."

Celestine smiled at that words from Sherrilyn Yulo. Wow! She was superb!  brave and amazing! She was not ashamed to admit  to the public of how she betrayed her own sister and how much she loved Jordan Lavega. She felt the words from this gorgeous woman na para bang iyon din ang sinasabi ng puso niya.

She scanned the next page but it was all about Jordan and Sherry followed with all about business and finance articles  hanggang sa wakas ay nakita niya ang mga larawan ni Jordan Leveste sa mga sumunod na page. Jordan has a lean and muscular body, an expressive playful eyes, thick long lashes and a full sensual lips. He is sitting on a cube shaped wooden bench, his upper body inclined to support his elbows above his lap while intertwining his palms and his legs widely opened as if he was inviting every women to hop in.

She couldn't help but kiss his picture. Remembering how they kissed passionately many days ago...she closed her eyes dreamily...

"Oh my my my Cuzbee...told yah I was never wrong!"

Muntikan na siyang mapatili nang makita si Jamila sa pintuan ng silid niya, nakakaloka ang ngisi nito nang unti unting lumapit.

"Aminin mo na kasi sakin na may gusto ka kay Jordan!" Naupo ito sa kama niya.

She blushed. Pano ba siya tatanggi e huling huli na siya nito?

"Well?" Muling pangungulit ni Jamila.

"E ano naman ngayon?!" Mataray niyang sagot at inilagay sa ilalim ng unan niya ang magazine.

Tumaas ang kilay nito. "You have to kill that feeling Cuzbee, you can't betray your sister right?" 

"I can't." She answered

To her surprise, Jamila started to rant over her. "So you must stop that! You should avoid him! Don't talk to him again ever! How could you betray your own sister? She doesn't deserve it! You can't fall inlove with your sister's fiance, it will be the most hateful thing you will commit in this family! " Tila nanay na ito ngayon kung manermon, akala pa man din niya susuportahan siya nito sa nararamdaman niya. Urgh!

Shocked lang siya na nakatingin dito, napanganga mode pa nga siya. She's seriously reprimanding here right now?!! 

After a few minutes, Jamila laughed very hard upon seeing her shocked reaction. Napahawak pa ito sa tiyan sa sobrang pagtawa.

"Are you crazy?!" Sigaw niya dito.

"You should see yourself in the mirror! nakakatawa kaya ang reaction mo! ha-ha and as if you didn't know na matagal na akong baliw!" Patuloy parin ito sa pagtawa.

Natatawa na rin siya dito. Kahit kelan loka loka talaga ang pinsan niya.

"I almost forget how crazy you are."

"Hindi mo kayang gawin ano?" Bumalik ang mapanuksong ngisi nito.

"Ang alin?"

"Ang iwasan at layuan si Jordan." Jamila turned serious now.

Pabagsak niyang isinandal ang katawan sa headboard.

"Bakit naman hindi? nakaya ko na iyon, kaya nga ibinaling ko ang atensyon ko kay Rohan eh ang kaso, sobra naman siya kung makialam sa buhay ko, mas mahigpit pa siya sakin kesa kina mommy at daddy."

"Hmm..what do you think? maybe Jordan is just blinded of what he truly felt for you! he has this mind set na kaya ka niya pinuprotektahan dahil halos kapatid ka na niya, but the fact was, hindi niya lang maamin that he's starting to feel jealous to Rohan at sa mga lalakeng umaaligid sa'yo kaya siya nagiging overprotective!"

"Oh! It was a music in the ear."

"I'm serious Cuzbee! Why don't you try the Sherry Yulo's tactic? Make Jordan realize that you meant for each other!"

"Ours is completely a different story, nagawa lang ni Sherry na paghiwalayin si Angelina at Jordan Lavega dahil alam niyang mahal parin ni Angelina ang ex boyfriend niya! But in my case, my sister loved Jordy so much, how can I ruin that?"

Nagkibit ito ng balikat.

"Looks like you're not really making the move Cuzbee?" She challenged.

"Because what you're suggesting is so selfish! It would hurt everybody, specially my sister, I love her!"

"Okay, basta pinayuhan kita ha...don't get me wrong, I love Georgie too...but I love you more, I care for your happiness, alam mo ba kung bakit naghiwalay sina Angelina Yulo at si Jaq Montero noon?"

"Why?" She asked curiously.

"Well, according to my resources, Angelina's twin brothers and her father were all against her relationship with Jaq Montero, kasi nga si Jordan Lavega ang gusto ng mga ito para sa kanya. Kaya itinanan ni Jaq si Angelina noon."

"And then?" Her curiousity became stronger.

"Pero si Jaq ay nagpakatino at isinauli sa pamilya nito si Angie, hoping he did the right thing but it turned out to be the worst decision Jaq made."

"Bakit naman?"

"Jaq was shocked that one day, he received a complaint from Angelina accusing him of rape."

"Huh?"

"And he was jailed because of that."

"No way!"

"Jaq suffered a lot thinking that Angelina really betrayed him."

"But she didn't really betrayed him right?"

Umiling si Jamila. "She will never do that, she loved Jaq so much, but Jaq saw her own signature under the complaint filed against him that's why he was very hurt. Their famous old s*x video actually brought them together. Jaq believed Angie betrayed him with her ugly lies kaya nang muli silang magkita after 8 years pagkatapos na kumalat sa internet ang old s*x video nila, Angie asked him if he was the one who leaked the video dahil sila lang namang dalawa ang may kopya nito, Jaq didn't admit it directly but he made Angie believed that he was the one who leaked it. They then hated each other, but the hate can not be overpowered by their sizzling desire for each other, would you believe? they were spotted together again entering a motel!"

"Geez, they did it again? In a motel?!" Bulalas niya.

"Ah-huh, imagine that, two famous personalities entering a motel? Gosh! Hindi pwedeng sa Hotel nalang para mas private? In an interview prior to that, they clearly implied to the public that their s*x video was just part of some youthful mistake, tapos bigla bigla after 8 years may makakakita sa kanila na pumapasok sa motel? Gosh! how ironic right? Their love was never gone and unstoppable throughout the years despite of the fact that they hated each other!"

"Gosh, it was a breathtaking love story..." She said dreamily

"If you want some breathtaking love story, you should accuse Jordan of r**e too!" Biglang sabi nito.

"Huh?"

"Or maybe, you could upload your s*x-y video! Goodnight cuzbee!" She said meaningfully.

Patakbo na itong lumabas sa silid niya.  Naiwan siyang nag-iisip sa higaan. Ano na naman bang gustong ipahiwatig ng loka loka niyang pinsan?

Jaq Montero and Angelina Yulo's story is one of my favorite creation of Eve Montelino. Sweet downfall yata ang title. At  ikunwento ko lang dito sa pamamagitan ng usapan ni Celestine at Jamila. 

Btw, the next chapter will somewhat heavy and stressful. But the secret that Jordan and Celestine shared on the next chapters of this story will bind them until they're back to the present time.
