Chapter 1- Novah
Pulling the silk fabric onto my body I am shocked as I look in the mirror. The dreamy emerald green dress clung to my skin in all the right places, gold embroidery around my chest and at my feet. It was absolutely stunning. My curly red hair was spun into a handful of elegant braids, my golden brown eyes sparkle with a desire I've never seen before. I take a deep steady-ing breath, knowing mother has invited all 6 of the werewolf clans, and has even reached out to the lycans, they should all be here by mid day, Alphas always arriving much later the the rest of the pack, boys will be boys.
I stand in front of the mirror, the eyes looking back at me, brighter than ever, staring at me, curious, as if it isn't me at all. At that moment I knew I was about to meet my wolf.
"Torvi." I heard my own voice in my head.
"Novah." I say out loud, staring back at my reflection. I close my eyes and get a glimpse of a dark red, almost maroon wolf, slender and elegant, she had the eyes I seen in the mirror moments before, mine but hers. My body instantly fills with adrenaline, I can hear my heartbeat through my chest, I can taste the cold crisp air, leaves crunching beneath my feet. I am running uphill beside Rainy lake, till I reach the top of the peak. The lake glistening in the bright white moonlight. I feel a sensation rumbling deep within me as my mouth opens and I howl at the full strawberry Moon. I open my eyes, seeing myself standing in front of the mirror, but in the reflection of my eyes I can still see Rainy lake and the moon in the distance.
"I'm so glad to finally meet you Torvi, I have felt your presence ever since I can remember"
"We have met before, you just pass them off as dreams, I have been with you since birth, in this brilliant head of yours, little wolf, our souls are entangled." she says. A knock on the door makes me loose focus, " come in!" I yell.
My mother enters my bedroom, more like a suite. I've never felt comfortable having such a big room, fit for a queen, as Aivery and I like to say. Its always been too fancy, too lush. She takes one look and me and almost breaks out in tears. "oh... my beautiful baby girl...." she trails off, not able to contain the tears as she pulls me into her arms. At first I was going to pull away, but I sink right into my mother's embrace, breathing in her distinct earthy smell, it was like rain and freshly dug dirt. No wonder we call this planet mother earth. And we just hold each other, I can feel my wolf as well as my mother's. A happy reunion. I cannot let myself cry at this moment. I break the embrace taking a few steps back, "what do you think?" I ask as i pick up the bottom of my dress and twirl around. "Absolutely stunning my beautiful daughter, absolutely gorgeous." Her warm smile beaming as she opens my door and gestures for me to leave the room. It was already dinnertime and I can hear the commotion as soon as she opens my door, I take a deep breath in, and one big step out.
