Chapter 7: The Final Decision

Lauryn had just finished eating her lunch when she heard a knock in her room at Isabelle's clinic. A moment later, Lauryn realised that Isabelle had come with Ettienne and his beta too.

Inside her mind, Lauryn was a little worried about what would happen to her, because she was sure they had come here today to talk about her fate in the Ruby Moon pack.

"Damn, I didn't expect them to come this fast. Am I going to be kicked out of here soon?" Lauryn was a little afraid to hear Ettienne's decision as Alpha from the Ruby Moon pack.

Isabelle greeted Lauryn kindly, “Good afternoon, Lauryn. How are you feeling today?" Isabelle asked while checking Lauryn's condition like a visit she usually did. Even though Isabelle came with Ettienne and Simon, she still had to do her job as Lauryn's doctor.

Hearing that Lauryn chuckled nervously, she was quite worried when she saw Ettienne and hid beta standing behind Isabelle, “Good enough. Is there something you'd like to say to me?” Lauryn asked then, glancing at Ettienne.

Ettienne only smiled slightly in response to Lauryn's words. Ettienne waited until Isabelle finished examining Lauryn before he said what he wanted to tell Lauryn about her whereabouts in the Ruby Moon pack in the future.

While Lauryn was getting worried about her fate when she saw how Ettienne smiled at her, for her that smile contained many meanings that she didn't understand, "What if they really kick me out of here?" Lauryn thought with a racing heartbeat at the moment.

Not long after, Ettienne spoke up after confirming that Isabelle had finished. "As you said before, my arrival today has something to do with your presence in our pack," said Ettienne then began stringing words to inform Lauryn of his decision.

Unknowingly Lauryn held her breath a little when she heard Ettienne's words, she still hoped that Ettienne would pity her enough and allow her to stay in the Ruby Moon pack for a while.

“Given your current condition, I will allow you to stay here for the time being.” Ettienne sticks to her previous decision, not listening to Simon's advice, who still suspects Lauryn's arrival.

Of course, Simon was surprised by Ettienne's words, he didn't expect that Ettienne would actually allow Lauryn to stay in their pack. Simon thought before that Ettienne was just joking to piss him off and would not allow Lauryn to stay in their pack. Simon, who has an explosive nature, immediately conveys his words.

"Alpha, did you not consider what I said before?" said Simon quite hastily at this point for he was very surprised by Ettienne's decision in this matter.

Meanwhile, Lauryn, who saw this, could not breathe easily because she realised that there was a contradiction in Ettienne's decision. Although on the other hand Lauryn feels that she has a hope to stay in this Ruby Moon pack.

It's just that Lauryn really understands what Simon is worried about, who looks against her to stay there. Even though Lauryn didn't really know the conditions in the Ruby Moon pack or the outside world at this time, it was indeed very risky to let strangers like her stay in their pack.

Back again to Ettienne, he only sighed softly when he heard how Simon questioned his decision again, he then turned around and tapped his beta's shoulder lightly and gave him a sharp look.

“I told you that I have my own reasons for letting him stay here.” Ettienne emphasised every word he said, not forgetting he gripped Simon's shoulder quite tightly.

Still feeling that Ettienne wasn't thinking clearly, Simon tried to speak again, although now he was even more nervous because of the pressure Ettienne put out. “What exactly is your reason for making she stay here? Aren't you suspicious of her coming at such an inopportune time?” Even though Simon was feeling pressured right now, he just wanted to make sure that their pack could stay safe.

Unexpectedly, Ettienne fell silent when he heard Simon question his reasons for allowing Lauryn in the Ruby Moon pack. Simon, who saw this, hoped that Ettienne could reconsider his decision. However, Simon's hopes were immediately dashed when he heard what Ettienne said next.

“The reason? Of course I won't tell you." Ettienne didn't seem too concerned about Simon's reaction when he heard that answer, he ignored Simon and looked back at Lauryn who was staring at him in surprise at this time.

"I have made my decision. So, you can stay here for a while, I hope you won't do bad things while you're here,” continued Ettienne to tell Lauryn that she could stay in his pack.

Because she was still shocked by what was happening, Lauryn could only nod her head as a sign that she understood what Ettienne was saying. Lauryn is still curious about what reasons Ettienne has for maintaining herself to stay in this pack.

"Then I'll return her to you, Isabelle." After finishing his business there, Ettienne dragged Simon to leave the room immediately.

After Ettienne left, Lauryn was finally able to breathe freely again, she looked up to look at Isabelle with a confused look, "I still can't believe that your Alpha allowed me to live here," said Lauryn, still unable to believe what had happened to her.

There was a small chuckle from Isabelle when she heard what Lauryn said, “It's not just you. Simon and I were very surprised when we heard Alpha's decision, even though he usually wouldn't act like this. Consider yourself lucky right now, so don't let down the trust he has placed in you,” Isabelle explained with a smile, although she was still suspicious of Lauryn's arrival, she was quite happy that she could stay here.

"Thank you, I'm very grateful to be able to live here." Lauryn was finally able to breathe a sigh of relief because finally she could stay temporarily in the Ruby Moon pack and not have to worry about the bounty from Sebastian.

Because her business there was finished, Isabelle said goodbye to Lauryn and left the room to continue her work.

While Lauryn herself was still confused, she still didn't understand the reasons Ettienne had for being able to keep her living there. Actually Lauryn was very curious about Ettienne's reasons, she felt that there was something Ettiene was covering up about this decision.
