Chapter 8: What is Your Secret?

After previously it was decided that Lauryn was allowed to stay in the Ruby Moon pack. Then, this morning Lauryn received news that she was allowed to move into one of the guest houses in the Ruby Moon pack.

Because previously Lauryn didn't have much luggage, all she had was a pair of clothes she was wearing and also a mysterious package that her father gave her when she ran away from the Amethyst Moon pack.

When she saw the strange package, Lauryn quite wondered about its contents, she was confused about what her father actually wanted to tell her. However, since now was not the right time to open the package, he just hugged the item and carried it away.

"One day, I'll find out what's in this package." Lauryn muttered to herself, restraining herself from opening the package like what her father had said to her.

Currently, Lauryn was escorted by someone who seemed to be Ettienne's subordinate to the guest house that had been prepared for Lauryn to stay while she was in the Ruby Moon pack.

"Miss, you can stay here as long as you are here, if you need anything you can tell me. You can find me at the entrance gate of this pack," explained the young man who looked friendly to Lauryn.

"Thank you very much, I will remember it." Lauryn nodded her head understanding what the young man said to her.

After that the young man immediately left Lauryn alone there, he had to return to his duty.

Lauryn, who was left alone there, stepped into the house that was prepared for her. Lauryn felt that the house wasn't too shabby, although when she went inside there were visible traces of dust.

"It seems that no one lived here before." Lauryn grimaced sadly when she saw the condition of the house, considering that a guest house like this would be occupied when there was a big event that needed to bring in people from other packs, Lauryn couldn't help but have to understand the condition.

Lauryn would not ask for more than this because she knew that she should be very grateful to be allowed to stay here.

Actually, Lauryn intended to clean the whole house first because there was indeed a lot of dust around the interior of the house. However, Lauryn, who was not in a very good condition, then decided to clean part of the house and leave the other half for tomorrow.

For the past two days Ettienne's room has been constantly visited by people, to the point that he himself is very upset because of this, but he can't deny the fact that this happened because of his own fault too.

"I didn't think they would continue to haunt me to explain all of this, it's really troublesome," said Ettienne on his throne while massaging the tip of his head which was starting to throb with pain.

Once again Ettienne heard a knock on his door this morning, how many times he had heard it. Ettienne wanted so badly to blow the door that had been bugging him for the past two days.

Finally, Ettienne sighed tiredly, then allowed the person who knocked on his door to enter this room.

And sure enough this time Ettienne saw Simon and Isabelle enter his room. Even though Ettienne was annoyed when he saw these two people, he still needed to ask the two of them about Lauryn's condition.

"What else do you want to tell me?" Leaning his back, Ettienne matter-of-factly questioned his two loyal subordinates.

"Isabelle said she wanted to tell you something," Simon answered, pointing at Isabelle who was standing next to him.

Hearing that Ettienne immediately turned his gaze to Isabelle, "You want to report something to me?" asked Ettienne curiously, considering that Lauryn was currently under Isabelle's care, he suspected that something had happened to Lauryn.

"Did something happen to Lauryn?" Ettienne continued at his own words, not allowing Isabelle to raise her voice.

Simon who saw that rolled his eyes lazily, still didn't like anything related to Lauryn.

"That's not about it, Alpha. I want to report that Lauryn has been transferred to the guest house," Isabelle explained quickly, afraid that Ettienne would misunderstand what she wanted to say at this point.

There was a sigh of relief from Ettienne when he heard that, "Good then. Then, what else? It's impossible for you to come to see me just to talk about this, right?" Ettienne replied, feeling that they both still had something they wanted to tell him.

"Regarding Lauryn's injuries, what should we do?" asked Isabelle asking for orders from Ettienne, of course she did not dare to act carelessly about this, so she asked Ettienne.

"That's right, I almost forgot about that. Just do what needs to be done to heal her wounds, tell me if you need anything." Ettienne didn't look the least bit hesitant as he ordered Isabelle to do whatever it takes to heal Lauryn.

"I will do it, Alpha. I will look for herbs that can help heal Miss Lauryn wounds." Isabelle also bowed her head as a sign that she understood the order given to her.

Meanwhile, Simon, who had only watched from the side, finally decided to talk about something that really made him curious.

"Seeing that Alpha values ​​Lauryn so much. I really wonder about this, what exactly happened that made you willing to do all this for her?" Simon also smoothly issued this question.

Seeing how stupid his subordinates were, Ettienne couldn't help but chuckle lightly. "Oh god, are you seriously asking me about this?" asked Ettienne still with a laugh on his lips.

"Of course I'm serious, Alpha. Don't you realise that there are a lot of people who are curious about what you're doing and keep asking both of us about it." It was now Simon's turn to be annoyed at seeing his Alpha behaviour.

To be honest, Ettienne did not expect that there would be so many people curious about this decision he had made. It seemed that Ettienne really had to say his reasons for allowing Lauryn to stay in their pack.

If Ettienne didn't do it, then he was afraid that people would misunderstand and make Lauryn's position difficult here.

"Actually, I don't want to say this, but it looks like you two really need to know." Ettienne sighed tiredly, thinking that this was the time he needed to say it.

"I feel that Lauryn is my mate," continued Ettienne with a faint smile on his face.

Suddenly a look of surprise appeared on Simon's and Isabelle's faces, they never expected that those words would come out of Ettienne's own lips.

"But, I noticed something strange, she doesn't seem to feel the same way I do. So, for now it's enough for you two to know about this." It didn't stop there, Ettienne continued his words which he felt were still bothering him at this time.

Even though they didn't really know what was going on between Ettienne and Lauryn. As subordinates, Simon and Isabelle could only obey the orders from Ettienne and no longer question the decision of their Alpha.
