Chapter 1 fell for him
“Lucy, look that way,” Jessica smiled and looked at the corner of the bar. There sat a man, holding a glass of wine. But he didn’t drink. He was just watching the dancing floor and so many beautiful girls were dancing. Some girl noticed his sight and started to flirt with him. She was touching her body and asked him to join. He sat still and liked to keep it that way.
Lucy was busying offering wine to guests. She was the bartender here and she really needed money. But hearing Jessica’s words, she gave a glance and couldn’t help stopping for several seconds to observe him.
He was so handsome. Maybe he was a model. Or at least he should be. He got dark hair and brown eyes and just by sitting there casually, he already attracted many women. Then Lucy looked away. She needed to focus on her work and the most important thing was she needed money.
When Lucy was working, the manager came out of blue and said, “It was going to be a busy night. we really need you to work very late.”
“Again? Oh, no. I’m so tired recently. I need to go home for some sleep. Or you will see a zombie tomorrow.” Jessica refused.
“How about you? Lucy, can you work late tonight? I can pay you double.” the manager knew how to persuade her.
Lucy signed deeply. It seemed like all people knew she needed money. But she did. She was also very tired. But she thought twice and answered, “You said double. Deal.”
Seeing the manager leaving, Jessica looked at Lucy with a worried face, “I think you should take some rest. Besides, it’s not safe for you to work overnight.”
Lucy knew Jessica was just caring about her. She smiled and said, “It’s OK. I’m a big girl and know how to take care of myself.”
As the manager said, it was truly a busy night. After Jessica left, Lucy was even working nonstop. But suddenly she felt someone was touching her. She got nervous instantly. What happened? She looked back and saw the manager. His hand was still on her butt and he wasn’t even going to stop? Lucy got irritated at once and asked, “What are you doing? Go away.”
“Come on. Let’s have some fun. Do you know you are a real beauty? ” he started to touch her hair.
That was so gross. Lucy pushed him away. “You stay away from me.”
The bar was so noisy that few people could hear them. And if they did, this kind of thing happened every day. No one would take it seriously.
“Alright, let’s do it your way. What’s the price?” asked the manager.
“what?” Lucy was completely confused.
“Stop and be honest. How much do you charge for having s*x?”
Who did he think she was?! A w***e? Lucy was so angry and ashamed somehow at the same time. She shouted, “Go f**k yourself. You bastard.”
“What? Do you still want this job or not?” the manager got angry and tried to threaten her.
“I said go f**k yourself. I quit!” she threw the uniform at the table and tried to leave.
But her hand was pulled by the manager. She used all her strength trying to push him away and somehow got stumbled and lost her balance. When she was about to fall on the floor, luckily, she was saved by a man.
Or should she say, the man. He was that silent man sitting at the corner.
He looked at her with his deep brown eyes and saved her from falling. She could feel his hands on her waist, and she liked his smell, like fresh air.
“So did you just fall for me?” he made a joke.
Lucy blushed and stood on her feet. “Thank you.” said she quickly.
The manager seemed to know him and stopped yelling at once. “What can I do for you, sir?” asked the manager politely.
That man looked at Lucy and said, “Can you offer a drink for me ?”
Lucy was a little embarrassed. After all, she just quit the job.
But the manager said, “Lucy, you heard him. Please do as he said.”
“What would you like to drink?”
“A glass of brandy will be nice.”
Without hesitation, Lucy gave him what he ordered.
“So your name is Lucy?” asked he.
She didn’t expect him to remember her name and she felt a little strange when he said her name. But in a good way. She smiled, “yes.”
“You look more beautiful when you are smiling. You should smile more often.” he finished his drink and left.
“Wait.” Lucy called him before he left.
He stopped and looked back, a little confused.
“Thank you.”
He seemed to understand what she meant. He saved her from the manager, but he just shook his head. “I just came for a drink.”
