My Second Chance

Chapter - 14

Finally, it's Saturday. I have been working in my office with the stupid papers and after working my ass off, Jenny drives me to school. Then, after studying and making sure my notes are in order, she drives me to the trainer. Every time I get back home, I see Aldea waiting, but today is the last day I get to see him. Since his house or was it an apartment? Either way, it's done renovating and the furniture was put together yesterday. So that means he's moving out. Thank god!

I got out of bed and went straight to the bathroom. I then changed into a white crop-top, ripped black shorts, and I put on white socks. I then went downstairs and started cooking myself breakfast. When I was done, I poured myself a cup of coffee and went to the living room. I set everything down on the coffee table and turned on the news channel. As I watched, I was about to grab a piece of bacon, but someone took it. I turned to my side to see my brother eating my piece of bacon! I sent him a glare, but he just ignored me, focused on the TV. I turned my attention back to the news and then I noticed.

"-It's truly amazing what you did, Mr.Smith. But you always keep a low profile and never help anyone, always focus on your business. What made you change your mind?"

"Well, a little bird told me that it would be profitable for me, so I decided to help. If it's profitable for me, why wouldn't I join?"

"That's amazing. I heard that you already recommended a few people to Mr. Fredrick. And a few of them were accepted. Are there any more people that you might recommend?"

"Actually, there is one woman that I might recommend, but I'm hesitating since her name is the same as his deceased girlfriend. But she is an amazing and hard-working woman. I have known her parents for a long time and thought about finding a good job for her. Since she's kinda shy, she can also be very impressive. So I'll think about it."

"You truly are an amazing person sir. Well, I hope it goes well. Thank you for your time." She said as he nodded and walked away. " As you can see Mr. Fredrick is truly impressive. Even other businesses help him with everything and even recommend people to him. This has been Kayla, your news reporter signing out!" As she said that, an ad started playing. I smiled to myself. Looks like they are working fast.

I finished up my coffee and picked up the plate with the cup. I went back to the kitchen and put them in the dishwasher. I might need to speed up everything. I went back upstairs and sat back on my laptop. Messaging him a job well done. I then got off the laptop and scrolled through my phone. The news truly got out quickly. Questioning who the woman was, Mr. Smith, recommending?

I threw my phone on the bed and tied my hair in a ponytail. I checked the homework and saw that I had already finished it, so I just went over the notes. By the time I finished, it was already 6 pm. I quickly changed into my job uniform, which consisted of a hooded black robe, a black crop top, and black pants combined with combat boots. To put everything together, I added black gloves, and after I got everything, I locked my bedroom door and jumped out of the window. Jenny was already waiting for me, so I got into her car and we drove off. I got my mask out of the glove compartment and put it on.

When we got to HQ, we went through the garage as always and straight to my office. I sat down and went through the papers Jenny had already provided for me. When I was done, I sat on the couch and Jenny poured some wine in for me. When I took a sip, there was a knock. She went to open it and two teenagers with a man walked in. They sat down with the man in the middle across from me.

One of the girls was completely white, while the other was utterly black. The man was wearing both white and black. He is the father of twins. A few years ago, he begged me to save his family. In exchange, he will train his children to be a big help to me. So I agreed. Saved their business and he trained the children. I remember meeting them and they were very impressed with what I could do and wanted to be just like me. So here we are.

"It's good to see you again, fox. When I heard the news, I was very concerned, but thank god you are alright." He said. I could see the twin's excited smiles through the masks. I nodded at him and flicked my fingers. Jenny quickly stood beside me and started talking.

"Due to what happened, Fox cannot talk, but she will recover soon and will have a normal conversation then. But she is glad to see you in good condition."

"That's truly sad. I wish you the best of health. As we agreed a few years ago, the children have been trained by me, but they are still not as good as you. But I hope they can help you as much as possible." He said, pulling a box out of his suit."This is a small gift of appreciation. The children can't wait to be by your side." I nodded and looked at my assistant, she bowed to me and went to her desk. She grabbed an envelope and handed it to the man.

"This is the contract since more people are a lot of use to Miss Fox. They will be taken care of and will be allowed to visit, but will not be allowed to reveal anything that they find out here. If the contract is broken, then your entire family will be massacred, including the twins. They will not be able to visit for a few months, but after then, they will be allowed. You can read the contract and then sign it if you agree."

As he was reading it, I finished my glass and looked at the twins. They were so excited and impatient that they would need to learn to hide it, they are so predictable. After he was done, he signed it and handed it to me. I signed it and put my stamp on it. I then handed Jenny the contract.

"I will lead you to the door, sir, and then I'll show the twins where they will be staying. If you follow me," She said, and they all left. I poured myself another glass of wine, then I poured another glass for Jenny, then I waited for her to return. When she returned, she put away the contract and we waited for the other person as we both took a sip of our wine.

So far so good.
