(Eden's POV)
The air in the living room felt unbearably heavy, the walls of Alexander's grand estate pressing down on me like they wanted to suffocate the last shred of my patience.
He stood a step away, his sharp grey eyes fixated on me, but I wasn’t searching for his unreadable expression—I was searching for something else. A flicker of regret, acknowledgement, anything.
Instead, his face was set, calm as always, like we were merely discussing the weather.
