Chapter 2
The mood in the office is grim. Everyone’s seen the news and many of our scientists are involved in validating the data just now. There are scenarios that were drawn up for something like this happening, but not so soon, not so quickly.
My calendar alert pops up like every day. We’ve decided not to tell the colonists for now. We don’t want them to worry about their friends and families on Earth. They need to concentrate on their own survival on Mars.
I log on and sip on my tea. It’s a day like any other and yet it feels like we’ve stumbled into a new world overnight.
