“Yet another common dream like all of the kids your age. I wouldn’t want to rely on that if I were you. You don’t have any powers to begin with.” His teacher reminds him of reality. Though, it is not something that he should discourage kids about their dream, Jonathan even in his young age knows that his teacher is only looking out for him and he fully understands that his teacher is speaking the truth. This side of their teacher is the only thing that the some of the parents hate about him. They did everything to kick him out of the school but because of the support of the other parents that likes his realistic mind, he still remains and continues teaching the students. “Even so. Without any powers. I will be the greatest hero ever.” Jonathan insisted and his teacher accepted it as it is. “Well, it is not bad to have a dream kid. There is still chances that you will change your aspirations in the future so look forward to it. By that time, make sure to tell me about your new found dream.” He looks at the enthusiastic Jonathan and smiles. “That is enough talking! The future is not set and will not wait. The most important thing is the present and the student that will not be able to do simple mathematical solutions like 1+1 will be punished! I know your parents don’t want a cruel teacher but I am doing this for all of you! So you better show some results today!” They resumed their class and just as his teacher declared, the students that were not able to answer the simple math questions that he write on the board had to stand on top of their chairs as punishment. Out of the twenty students, fifteen are being punished. “I warned you all about a punishment right? Now then, lets go back and let me teach you all about how to answer this questions again. Now that I think about it, it is rather a coincidence that the punishment turned out like that. You will be able to see everything that is on the board. I really am a genius!” he celebrated as his students continued to suffer from his punishment. A few hours later and his class is over. After all the students have left the room, he finish tidying and notice that Jonathan is still there sitting on his desk writing something. “This kid.” “What are you doing Jonathan?” he asked after walking up to him and takes a look at what Jonathan is doing. “A sketch o f my costume. I heard from the people that the heroes made their own costumes so I try to make some sketches. That way, I have many options in the future.” Even though he had already told Jonathan off about being a hero as his dream, the teacher could not help but smile at the little kid before him. Being his teacher for more than two years, his teacher is already aware of how Jonathan likes heroes, to the point that his room is filled with figurines and posters of the heroes that he like. “You kid. You really do like heroes huh? Well, I can’t help and agree but not all heroes have capes Jonathan. There are those that stays outside the limelight and are not even acknowledged by most people and take them for granted.” His words made Jonathan stop what he is doing and looks up to his teacher. “Who are those heroes teacher?” He smiles and pat Jonathan’s head carefully as he would with a baby. “Anyone. Being a hero doesn’t mean that they need to have powers. Take your mother as an example. Did you know that our mothers do everything they can to help us? That goes for or fathers as well. They are the first heroes that you will ever see in your life. They might not be as gallant and powerful as the ones with super powers but they are just as amazing in your eyes.” Jonathan’s eyes sparkles after realizing what his teacher is talking about and added. “It is just as you said teacher! There is someone that helped me a few months ago and he looked really heroic in my eyes. Teacher is a genius!” the teacher could not help but smile at his student admires his thoughts and when he sees that it is getting late, he tells Jonathan to tidy his things and go home. “I will be taking you home okay? It has gotten dark and I don’t want a student of mine to be going home alone.” The teacher then walk Jonathan home and thank the teacher for bringing their son home. “Thank you very much teacher Gali, we are truly sorry for the trouble that Jonathan have caused you.” Teacher Gali disperses her thoughts and tells her that he enjoys the kid’s company and then went on his way home. “Well then, I should be on my way madam. It is nice seeing you. Please remind Jonathan that he needs to pass the test tomorrow or else he will suffer a punishment.” Jonathan waves his hand good bye to his teacher. Little did he know that it was the last time that he will get to see the smiling face of his teacher. On his way home, the teacher died when a car runs him over in the middle of the road as he cross the street to get to his home.
