Chapter 18

1721 Words
Time went by like it always did and Ophelia needed to get something to eat by the protest of her stomach. She left the desk and went up to the cafeteria. She got her tray of food and saw the girls already waiting for her. "Finally." Aurora said as she sat down. "I can finally tell you two about what happened." She looked at both of them before she kept talking. "The lion called." "No!" Meri said, shocked. "Who's the lion?" Ophelia asked, unsure of what was going on. "The boss's enemy." Meri said, then got closer to her. "The one who is trying to undo everything that the boss has been doing throughout the Galaxy." "Oh?" Ophelia still confused and unsure. "What did he say this time?" Meri asked. "Wait, I thought he didn't send out signals. How is the lion able to send one in?" Ophelia was even more confused.  "That's the thing I'm not even sure how the lion is able to send one in. But all I know is that he told the boss that he took what was his in a personal way this time and he was going to get her back." "Oh tell me a name if he said one." Meri was way too excited for this. "Ophelia." Aurora said. "We don't have an Ophelia, right?" Ophelia asked, trying to hide that she was the one the lion was after.  "No we don't." Meri said as she looked around at the crowd. "Princess, eating with the commoners. Trying to act like they are not less than you are? " Ulyssa came up from behind. Ophelia turned to look at her. That was when Ulyssa spilled her drink all over Ophelia. "Sorry princess." She said with a smile then walked away. "Lia are you okay?" Meri asked. "I will be. I'm just going to go change out of these and into something less wet before going back to the paperwork." She got up and took her tray with her to place it with the others. She got into the shift to the room. She felt the liquid drip off her. The doors opened and she went into the hall towards her room. She got to her door and opened it.  "Why are you all wet? Is it because of me?" Griffin's voice said from behind. "I'll be back to work when I can get some dryer clothes on." She ignored his comment. "Better hurry we need to get down to the docking station." She turned around and looked at him. "We are leaving right now?" "He moved up his plans we should have left like yesterday." He put his elbow against the wall and leaned on it. "Ugh." She moved into her room and quickly grabbed a new uniform and put it on quickly. She opened the door and Griffin was still leaning on the wall. "Let's go then." She moved to get back to the shaft. Griffin followed her. They stopped on the floor right above the one that held all the ships. She followed across a bridge to a ship with an open door. She looked down at the floor below and saw Tabnam walking. She saw the way his cape flowed behind him as me moved. He looked up at her. She smiled and moved her head away. She felt her cheeks get hot.  She walked through the door of the ship and saw others, mostly guards sitting around. Griffin pushed something at her. She looked down and saw different clothes. Ones that were more medical looking than the outfit she normally wore. "Wait, why didn't you tell me I'd have to put on something else?" She looked at him. "Didn't want you to get in here wet. Plus I'm sure the guys would love the show." He winked at her. All the guys whistled at her. She sneered at them and moved away. "I'd get that on now before we leave." He went to an empty seat and buckled himself in. She went to a door and thankfully was in a small room. She quickly changed out of the clothes and into the new ones. She stepped out and the men were booing her. She ignored them and found an empty seat to sit down and buckle herself in.  "One minute warning before take off." She could tell that was Tabnam over the ship intercom. Within the minute the ship started to move. She sat there unsure of how long they would be sitting there. Everyone around her talked to each other but not one talked to her. She sat there in her thoughts. Every thought she had was about Tabnam. She really did start to fall for him. All the guys stopped talking and she realized that Tabnam was now in the room with them. "You all know the drill like every other one we have done before. Find the girl and get her out." Tabnam said. He turned to Ophelia. "Pet, I will need you to be close at all times. I don't need something happening to you." He moved his hand out towards her to take a hold. She took it and he led her off the ship onto rooftops.  They moved across the different rooftops. Ophelia could see that this place was not like a place she had ever seen before. It was dirty. The creatures of the planet did things that were not tolerated. The drugs all over the place and the things that they did while they were high on the drugs.  "This place is supported by the creatures on your planet like your friend." Tabnam said into her ear in a hushed voice. "Why?" She couldn't see why wealthy people would want a planet to be like this. "Easier to get what they want out of them." His tone scared her.  "We found her." A call came in. Everyone moved quickly to the location given. Ophelia tried to keep up the best she could. They all got to the spot. She looked down from the roof and saw a man dressed in all red with a lion's shaped helmet. He had the girl pinned against the wall. Tabnam dropped down towards him. "Let her go." He ordered. "Did you bring what I wanted from you?" He looked up and scanned the rooftops. He saw her and stopped looking. He stared at her. He let go of the girl and moved away. The guards went to be with Tabnam down below them. She stayed up on the rooftop, but moved towards the ship.  A red blur moved in front of her. "Hello, my little Ophelia. I'm glad that I finally get to take you home." He said through his mask. Ophelia stepped back. She didn't know who he was and why he wanted her. She didn't have a voice to tell him to leave her be or ask who he was. She was just scared. "Do not be hesitant little one. I am a friend. I know your parents miss you very much." Those words made her not feel safe with him. "My parents are glad I am gone. Just like when they had sent me away." She felt more confident in him not being a friend and needed to get away. "I know your parents quite well. I will take you back with me." He went to grab her and she ran, but she couldn't run him. He was able to get a hold of her. "I will not go with you!" She yelled and struggled. He picked her up. She kicked and struggled harder. He got her a few rooftops away before she fell hard against the roof. She looked up to see Tabnam with the red lion in his grasp. "You really think I would let you get away this time and with something of value to me." He said then punched him. "Is that what they are to you valuable? These are people, not something you can own because you deem it so." The red lion spoke. Then punched Tabnam. He lost his hold on the red lion and he was able to get some space between them. Ophelia got up but fell back to the roof in pain. "I don't own them. They are free with me." Tabnam said. The red lion came for Ophelia again. Tabanm ran towards and pushed the red lion to the edge of the roof. He fell but was able to grab the edge of the roof side.  Tabnam went to Ophelia and picked her up in a bridal style. He took her across the roofs. They were close to the ship when Tabnam fell to the ground and kept Ophelia close to him to keep her from getting more injured. "She is mine. She was always mine and you took her from me. Give her back." The red lion said.  Tabnam set Ophelia one the roof gently. He turned towards the red lion keeping Ophelia behind him in a protective manner. "My pet is only mine. Get your own." A few of the guards came and surrounded him. "She cannot be yours when I had her first." He said, one of the guards came at him, but he moved out of the way towards Tabnam and Ophelia. Tabnam didn't move, he stood there waiting.  Ophelia closed her eyes. She heard the men clashing together. Tabnam had stopped Lion from getting closer and pushed him back. One of the guards picked up Ophelia and took her back to the ship. "That's mine!" Lion yelled. Ophelia was placed on the floor where everyone sat before. She saw Griffin come towards her and sit on the floor. "Don't touch me." She tried to move but the pain was too much. She knew it had to do with her ribs.  Tabnam came on board and looked down at her. "Take off her necklace and check her out." He said to Griffin. "You," He pointed to the girl he brought on board, "Follow me."  Ophelia moved her head to watch them leave. She felt Griffin's hands on the necklace removing it. Once it was off her skin she felt a wave of relaxation go through her as she looked into his eyes. Then the darkness of sleep took over.
