The next morning Ophelia woke up still in Tabnam's chest but she had a kink in her neck. She slowly moved to get out of bed and go to see the girls for breakfast. She had her body on top of his. His hand moved to her hips.
"Where are you going?" He asked her.
"To go eat." She started to move off him but he moved her back towards the bed with him on top of her.
"You were going to just sneak off?"
"Please sneaking off would be me waiting until you fell asleep to leave. It's time for everyone to be up so it is not sneaking off."she pushed him and got out of the bed. "I'll be in my office after I finish eating. Enjoy whatever you do." She left the room to head to the cafeteria.
She grabbed her food and went to go sit next to the group.
"Lia, you are finally here eating with us." Meri said with a smile and hug.
"We would have pulled you out but that hot nurse Griffin always gets me where I want it." Aurora said.
"How come you aren't affected by him?" Meri asked.
"I found out it's from this." She showed them her hidden necklace. "Adrik gave it to me and I guess it protects me from sirens."
"I need to get me one of those but more from the creeps I always seem to be around." Aurora said, looking at the necklace.
"It only works if the person who gives it to you cares a lot about you and you care about them. It's something like that." Ophelia ate some food.
"Well I gotta get going." Aurora said. She grabbed her tray and left the table.
"Will you be here for lunch?" Meri asked Ophelia.
"I plan to if I remember. I'm actually helping the doctor get through all of his paperwork." Ophelia said with pride.
"Wow, are you sure it's not because of the call? Aurora told me about how you broke down and that the boss didn't care much about it." Meri stabbed her in the wound she was letting heal.
"Well after some things with him I definitely know why he didn't care." Ophelia started to play with her food.
"Ooo you are the boss. I knew something would spark between you two." Meri nudged Ophelia.
"There isn't anything going on really. I'm sure he has concern for everyone here." Ophelia looked at her to defend herself.
"Okay? But there are signs he wants you." She smiled.
"What signs?" She looked at her.
"You know what signs don't play dumb. He wants you and I see how you are acting. You got it for him too."
"No. No I don't." Ophelia got up.
"You can't deny it." Meri called right before she got into the shaft to take it to the medical ward.
Ophelia took a deep breath and let it out. When the doors closed on the shaft. She couldn't think of herself feeling a way for Tabnam. She walked into the large waiting area where she saw the doctor talking to Mr. Hotpants.
"Go ahead and start working." He turned back and talked in hushed tones. It was odd for him to talk to Griffin in a hushed manner around her. She was shocked he wasn't yelling at him.
Ophelia got started on her work. She sat there a while longer than she thought she should. The door finally opened and the doctor walked in.
"Everything okay?" She asked.
"Yes, it's just a little thing I needed to discuss. And now I need to discuss something with you." He looked at her in a serious manner. "The boss came down to talk about you being gone for a few days to help him."
"He asked me." She started but stopped when she looked at his face.
"It's not something you will come back the same from."
"What do you-?" He put his hand up.
"I'll give you a few days off from working here after you come back. You will most likely need it."
"But I don't-." He looked at her again, moving his head down as he did.
"Do not question it." He moved his eyes from her to the never ending pile of paper. She did the same.
