The alliance
~You are the reason I believe in love~
‘I cannot tell you how thankful I am for our little infinity. I wouldn’t trade it for the world. You gave me a forever within numbered days and I’m grateful.’
Jisu was totally engrossed in her book, ‘The Fault in Our stars.’, her only solace after her brother.
“Jisu they have arrived and you still are engrossed in reading.” Her bhabhi, Mukti scolded her, taking the book from her hand.
“Bhabhi let’s go.” Jisu said, adjusting her shawl on her shoulder as she headed towards the door.
“Are you happy?” Mukti asked.
“This is bhai’s decision and if he is happy then how can’t I be?” Jisu smiled slightly.
“God this girl is a hard nut to crack. We want her to be happy and here she…” Mukti sighed.
Jisu descended down the stairs, along with Mukti, wearing a light green anarkali.
She looked like an angel descended direct from heaven but there was just one thing missing and that was her smile. Her face was devoid of any emotions. How could she be happy when she wasn’t ready for it but she couldn’t deny her brother as well.
She had gone through a lot in a very small age. She had seen fights, broken marriages, betrayal, break ups and faced harassment. She was deeply shaken and fully broken from inside and her only solace was her bhai, Abhimanyu. And how could she simply deny his wish of seeing her married?
“Bhai, Bhabhi is so beautiful.” Yoona, who was sitting beside Ian, whispered in Ian’s ear and Ian just smiled looking at Jisu.
Jisu, being the PA of Abhi, Ian had met her many times in business meetings and he was highly touched seeing her confidence and he was even more drawn towards her when he saw her caring nature towards everyone. He had tried carrying out conversation with her a lot of time but in return he only got a warm smile from her which never reached her eyes. And it never went unnoticed by him.
When Ian had mentioned about Jisu to her mother, Nyonika, she being the impatient soul, she immediately kept forward the marriage proposal of Ian and Jisu to Abhi, who seemed more than happy for their wedlock. Ian still didn’t admit that it was love but he couldn’t deny the fact that there was something in Jisu, which was pulling him towards her.
Jisu was made to sit beside Ian by Yoona. Jisu hesitated but gave in. Jisu was fidgeting with her finger and nervousness could easily be seen on her face. Ian was just watching her through the corner of his eyes, admiring her.
After a minutes of silence.
“I guess we should give them some personal time.” Abhi said, breaking the silence of the environment. “Jisu take Ian upstairs.”
Jisu nodded her head and lead him upstairs to her room.
“Jisu I see you have a huge collection of book.” Ian stood in front of her book shelf, looking at her book shelf while she just smiled in response. He just ran his eyes around her bookshelf and seeing it he could easily depict that she loved reading love novels.
“You love reading love novels?” It came out more like a question from his mouth.
“Umm..yess.” She said in an inaudible tone.
“Umm.. Are you happy with this alliance?” Ian asked, turning his head towards her.
“Bhai is happy and so am I.” She replied, fidgeting with her fingers.
“Are you sure? If you don’t want it, I can deny for the proposal.” Ian sat beside her on her bed.
“I am sure. Umm.. tell me something about you.” Jisu said, trying to change the topic.
“You know I love music. Although I have a big company to handle but I still manage some time for music. It has always been my solace. My friends Zylith, Dhruv, Alya and your bhabhi Mukti, they are my friends c*m family. We are the fab 5. Actually the other three too wanted to meet you but they couldn’t make it up…you know their hectic schedules.” Ian said all this in a go with a wide smile playing on his lips. Jisu had heard a lot about fab 5 from her bhabhi but she never did make any effort to meet them, not even at her bhai’s wedding. So she wasn’t familiar to them.
“Now it’s your turn.”
“There is nothing to know about me. I love reading and my bhai and bhabhi are my only family. My mom died in an accident.” Jisu’s voice was low and inaudible by the end.
‘There is so much to know about you. You are a mystery Jisu.’ Ian thought to himself, looking at her.
“Each and every being in this world have to die one day or the other. Don’t be sad. You know I lost my dad when I was 8 years. I understand how it feels. It feels so empty without him..still I miss him but you know since the time music came in my life and it has become my solace.” Ian tried cheering her up with his words and it did help a bit. She smiled and this time her smile was genuine and natural.
“I guess we should go down.” Jisu said. While moving downstairs Ian was lost in thinking about why Jisu didn’t even mention about her dad. But eventually he chucked the thought when he saw Abhi approaching him.
“So every things fine right.” Abhi asked.
“Yes absolutely.”
“Jisu, So are you ready for the marriage?” Ian’s mother, Nyonika asked.
Jisu glanced at her bhai, taking a deep breath, she replied, ”Yes aunty.”
