Cody awoke as he always did in Ezra’s bed, dressed, and greeted Miles.
“You look much better,” Miles said. Cody realized he was neither Adam nor Hayden when he gave him a soft kiss.
“Let’s eat,” Cody said.
Miles smiled at him and followed him downstairs to join Ezra’s family. For the first time, Cody decided to let Miles take him horseback riding. He was filled with trepidation to sit atop a horse, but what was the worst that could happen? He’d fall off, bash his skull in, and wake up safe and sound in Ezra’s bed waiting for a kiss from someone.
As it turned out, Ezra was only a novice, and Miles his patient teacher. Cody had feared he would be expected to ride like a pro, but the basic lesson proved not only easy, but fun.
