“So, it’s finally happening,” Nathan remarked.
I smiled, looking up at my friend, before I sent the colored pool ball into one of the holes in the corner of the pool table.
“It is,” I affirmed.
“Should I be prepared with a car?” he teased.
I chuckled and shook my head, moving around the table to take my shot, but unfortunately, the ball missed its mark, and it was Nathan's turn. I picked up my glass of scotch from the table and took a sip. Nathan and I hadn't opted for a crowded club scene tonight. Instead, it was just the two of us at a bar, playing some pool. It wasn't our usual hangout, but I preferred it this way. Just him and me, like it had always been.
