Episode 18: Sneaking In

Matteo's POV

We immediately stopped when we heard the new rumors! Hours ago, there were rumors that Juliana is not able to enter our world before the portals were out of reach!

But now, it is said that she was able to enter the Paradise. Our senior was rushing to our training ground!

“Thankfully, she had entered the portal before the given due.” narinig kong ipinagpaalam ng isang senior sa iba pang mga naroon!

Maluwag na nakahinga ako, Thankfully. When I turned to see Misty I did not expect her reaction! Lumapit ako sa kaniya ang asked if what's wrong.

“Somethings not right, Matteo. Someone's.. someone's here.” hindi ko siya maintindihan, I mean, yes!

Of course there is really something wrong, a battle will began any time the dark peculiars want! It isn't a big deal anymore. Especially when we were asked to prepare for a battle.

“Something is really not right. But what do you mean someone's here, babe?” Jack asked, confused.

Oh I haven't heard that word.

“Someone who doesn't belong here, I can smell her.. I know this scent, but I can't— it's not clear.” Misty's brows were almost knitted!

It is clear that she's confused and somewhat problematic too! It took me a while to understand what she was talking about!

“You mean a mortal?” I raised a finger on the air! If she means ‘someone that doesn't belong here,” it could only be one different creature that has similar features to us!

“E-exactly! I wonder where this smell came from..” I noticed that it's not just Misty who recognized the different smell!

Also those peculiars who has the same ability as Misty immediately noticed that! There were numbers of them who obviously was searching for the different scent!

“Babe, let others do that.” pakiusap ni Jack sa nobya, but she wasn't listening.

“I am the top rank of my ability, babe. It has to be me who's doing this, not my comrades.” nasapo ni Jack ang noo matapos marinig ang dahilan ni Misty!

She was right, she's absolutely right. Top ranks should be the one leading his or her comrades. We three are both top ranks of our own abilities so we have different quest, but at the same time, we both need each others back to build a stronger squad.

“Fine. But be careful.” walang nagawa si Jack at hinayaan na si Misty sa paghahanap kasama ang mga may kakayahan kagaya niya.

Misty just noded and withdraws her hands from Jack. In a sudden, all of Misty's comrades are out of sight. They were searching for the scent, while all of us who's left continued our trainings.

“She'll be okay, Jack.” I comforted him after I saw his worried look!

“I know. It's just that, it's really dangerous now, you know?” I tapped his shoulders,

“Yeah, but she can handle it. And besides, there were at least hundreds of them following the scent. They can help each other, especially their top rank.” after having a small talk, I jumped into someone for a training.

He has different ability, he was one of the royal bloods race. I couldn't beat him easily, he was stronger than me, but of course, I was wiser, so I took him down!

Even I was shocked! Almost everyone who set their gazes at us before we started was shocked of what they've seen!

The man bowed down at me! Still I was shocked and let him do what I should've done! “I'm impressed.” he said!

“No, you don't get it, bro. I'm sorry for beating you up.”

“Nah, it was nothing to me. I was trained like this. Don't give me special treatment because I have their blood. I personally wanted to be sent here to train.” how down to earth this royal blood man is?!

“If that's the case, it was a nice match with you, bro.” after then I trained with another person.

It was past eight o'clock in the evening. Jack and me are still waiting for Misty to comeback. All trainings are done but they aren't back yet. Almost everyone is worried.

You can see some of other peculiars are obviously waiting for them to come back. Some even used their ability to communicate with Misty's comrades to track if they are well and where they are located.

“Oh, they're coming back!” after waiting for how many minutes, someone shouted!

“Oh thank god!”

“I was worried sick!”

“I knew everything will be fine!” narinig ko ang bawat opinyon ng isa't-isa!

Nagkatinginan kami ni Jack at parehong nakahinga ng maluwag! We know that she can really well handle herself, but still she was a girl, it is dangerous.

“Here you are!” Jack almost jumped out of joy!

I was about to laugh but Misty went to me with her still worried face! “It was Alliyah! I'm sure!” she whispered, still worried!

When we heard her words, my spine turned cold! How could she?! It's impossible!

“Are you freaking serious, babe?!” Hindi makapaniwalang bulalas ni Jack!

“Lower your voice! They might hear us!” Misty hissed!

“How, Misty?  I mean, we safely drove here, without her behind us, right?” I asked, worried!

“Yes. and the worst thing? She's under the hands of the Zenith!” my mouth parted after hearing those words from Misty's mouth!

This can't be! She might be executed! I can't let that happen! But first of all, why would she come here?!

“I don't know who might brought her here. But I doubt that Juliana did. She was at Zenith's place, they were talking, privately.” dagdag pa ni Misty!

I was alerted by this kind of news! This couldn't be happening right now! Not yet! I can't handle two problem at once, or maybe three freaking problems!

“We should get her.” I dumbfoundedly suggested!

“No way, idiot! She shouldn't know that we are here too! It would be a mess!” Jack opposed me!

“She can't know our identities with this battle coming, Matteo. These two problems should be dealt separately.” nasapo ko nalang ang noo nang kontrahin rin ako ni Misty at hindi malaman ang gagawin!

“You know what? We should head home. Just, let this happen, let's not stress ourselves, okay?” Misty nodded.

I was anxious, but I agreed to what Jack just said. I know how important Alliyah is to me, and I don't want something bad happen to her. I could sacrifice my own life for her, but I couldn't just do that here. There would be too much consequences.

Days passed, I was still worried. I haven't met Alliyah, but Misty told me that she is still here and it seems like she was under investigation by the Zenith.

At first, I thought she will be punished by death, I was so nervous because it can possibly happen especially when she's under the Zenith's order. But thankfully, we have known that she was safe and protected by the Zenith herself.

“We should sneak in, I badly wanna see her.” one time I tried to convince both Jack and Misty.

“It's too dangerous, Clare. Guards are everywhere, you know that.” obviously, Jack stated a no.

So I turned to Misty, “I agree with Jack.” matunog na napabuntong-hininga ako!

“Of course you'll go for him, now I hate couples!” I hissed!

I think I should go there myself?

I have no choice, too. I really wanna see her. Knowing that she's here and I can just actually drive or walk to her, why wouldn't I? I mean, I've been longing for her at least one week already!

Even when she was depressed, I was secretly watching for her and getting jealous of that Alex she was with!

I know something is wrong with that man, but he really cares about Alliyah too. I can see it the way he takes care of her, especially when that incident happened that I got to face him.

I know he feels something for Alliyah.

While waiting 'til the clock strikes at exactly eleven in the evening, I was thinking a way on how to sneak in the Zenith's place. I know the danger and consequences I might get, but I want to keep her safe.

“Clare, be very careful. You know their abilities, I suggest don't get caught, then you might be back here with Alliyah with no scar.” I nodded at Misty, she's helping me, but she will stay here to make sure my mom won't know where I am at.

Jack was already waiting for me outside the house, he will come with me. Aside from communicating through his mind, he can easily know the owner of foot steps and hand prints and some others than can be easily traced, except the scent, because it belongs to others abilities.

But having the ability to track down scents has the same ability with Jacks, except from communicating through the mind.

“The walls are clean, Clare. No tracks of Alliyah.. But the floor..” he examined it carefully.

We are already inside the Zenith's place, secretly sneaking in! “What is it?” I frowned!

“It's positive she's here. But her shoe prints aren't clear.” I'm sure it was covered by anyone's prints.

Peculiars reports daily in this place so I won't be surprised if Jack said so. What is important now is to know where Alliyah exactly is! This place is big, and I haven't really explored the whole place.

I heard footsteps coming towards us so I immediately hid myself as well as Jack! I can be easily seen is the guard was powerful enough to smell my scent, but luckily, his abilities were just combats and nothing more!

After walking in so many hallways, Jack stopped at the basements door. We stared to each other. Knowing it will be the basement we're going, it could be risky, there will be no escape if we have to.

There are plenty of guards down there because it is where they put the dark peculiars that are caught and under investigation. And maybe, so is Alliyah.

But knowing she's a mortal, Zenith could have kept her in a safe and close place where guards are surrounding the room. That means, there is only one place to look for down the basement.

“That room you're talking about is too risky, Clare. Maybe we'll wait fot Zenith to release her?”

“Jack, we are not sure if they will. What if the Zenith will decide to execute her? I won't let that happen.”

“Look, if you are caught taking her away, it'll be so f*****g complicated! You could die, too! Think about your mom!” he hissed! I stopped and stared at him!

Jack is right, he was absolutely right! But I can't stand doing nothing for the person I love. “What if you were in my situation, Jack? Don't you wanna try to save your girl?” I asked!

He released a bitter breath! “Sad to say, but I am not, Clare. We are in your situation now! And I am just saying this for you to think wisely!”

“You know that I am so confused right now, Jack, you can't even talk to me through your ability because my mind is so busy and you can't get in! I am honestly not thinking straight right now!” I tapped his shoulder!

“You really don't have to do this, bro. Let's just let it be, okay? But I know that she'll gonna be okay. Remember, she conquered depression, and we know that is really tough.” at one blink, I was already back at my house!

And because of that, all my effort for sneaking in was useless! “Oh, you moron! You just wasted what we've accomplished!” I cursed him many times that makes Misty came out from one of the guest rooms!

“Shush! You guys are too noisy!” she commented and sat down the couch! “So tell me, what happened?” she crossed her legs and raised her eyebrows! Obviously, she was looking for Alliyah!

“We didn't got her. It was too dangerous.” Jack has the confidence to answer Misty for what he freaking did!

“Told you, Clare! Thank god you realized it early!” she snapped!

I lamely stood up at left them just like that. Seconds of walking away, they started flirting with each other!
