Chapter Three: Graduation and Love?

It was only two months before graduation, when Annalisa finally decided to approach the boy in her class she had been crushing on. His name was Daniel, he was quiet and a complete and total nerd. He wrote poetry and was always reading books. Anna had liked him since she had accidently run into him their first day of school together. He had been so shy he barely said sorry after handing her the books she had dropped.
Now Anna may have been a fierce, straight forward girl, but when it came to Daniel, she became unsure of herself around him. They had all their classes together and sat close to each other. Occasionally, Anna would think she saw him staring at her from behind a book. She was even friends with his sister and had spent many nights at their house during sleep overs.
His family was from America and so her father wanting her to get more comfortable allowed her to spend time with her female friend. Anna loved Daniel's sister Ashley. Not having any sisters of her owns, she loved being able to do girly things like hair, makeup, and shopping. But anytime she stayed the night at Daniel's he kept to himself for the most part.
So, Anna finally decided that the time had come. She would tell him how she felt and then go from there. School had just finished for the day and Anna was walking with Ashley to Ashley's house. They went into her room and about halfway through doing their homework Anna tossed her pencil down.
“Okay I can't take this anymore! This is driving me crazy!” Anna tells Ashley in a loud whisper.
Ashley lets out a giggle, “What's wrong Anna? Is the homework getting to you?”
Anna rolls her eyes, “No, it's not that I just want to tell him how I feel but I don’t know how.” Anna says.
Ashley smiled, “It's easy Anna just go up to him and say it.”
Anna shakes her head, “Right I’m just supposed to go up to him and be like Daniel hey, how are you? Oh, by the way I've liked you since that day we first met.” Just as she finished her sentence, there was a sound of a plate dropping they both turned to look and there was Daniel standing at the door his face bright red, the plate of sandwiches he was bringing now on the floor at his feet.
He couldn't speak all he could do was stare at the beautiful now bright red Anna. Ashley was laughing so hard she was in tears. “Well, that's one way to tell someone,” She says in between her giggling.
Daniel opened his mouth to say something, then stopped and it was obvious he was trying to figure out what to say. After a few moments Ashley finally stopped laughing, she got up picked up the plate gave her brother a nudge and smiled and went to put the plate away.
After she left Daniel finally spoke, “Why me? I mean you could have whoever you want. So why me?”
Anna looked at him, “Why not you? You're sweet and kind, we have a lot in common with each other, plus I think you’re cute.” She was really blushing then.
Daniel smiled at her, she really did like him, “I think you're beautiful I’ve always liked you to, but I was always too afraid to tell you. I knew that Bobby had his eye on you but I didn’t know if you were interested in him or not.”
Anna let out a laugh and said, “On no I can't stand Bobby, he’s such an arrogant prick. Thinking he's god’s gift to women and that we should all worship at his feet. I turned him down a long time ago.”
Daniel laughed, “I’m glad. Well now what do we do?”
Anna let out a sigh, “I’m not sure. I mean I would love to maybe go on a date with you. But I have no idea how my father is going to react.”
Daniel got a worried look on his face, “He's scary.”
Anna laughs, “He is not scary.” She says.
Daniel rolls his eyes, “Have you ever met your father?” He asks her laughing. “I mean I know from what I’ve hear he’s a special person. It’s not every day a member of the mafia well a leader moves into town.”
He gave her a cheesy grin. Not a lot of people knew what or who her father was, she was surprised that he did. The real question though, was how was she going to tell her father about this?...
