Chapter 22

CHAPTER 22 The next morning Jason woke with the meanest hangover he ever had in his life. It wasn’t so much as the alcohol, but the added heartbreak he never felt. “Jason!” His eyes fluttered open as he heard the voice of a familiar soul. “Janet?” He sat up quickly to be tackled by her. “f**k sis what the hell you doing here?” he asked once she released him enough so he can sit up. He held his head once he sat completely up. “Who let you in?” Wilson walked in then. “I did. I tried calling your cell. Where is it?” Jason sighed, closing his eyes tightly. “I lost it in the parking garage. I will go get a new one later. What’s the emergency? What I miss?” “Dan is having the board meeting today about the expansion,” Wilson explained. Jason rolled his eyes and fell back on his bed. “Fuck.” As if his day couldn’t get any worse already. “Daddy called me about it and I flew in last night. He filled me in on what’s been happening around here.” Janet didn’t sound too pleased with the events. “Get dressed, we have a couple of hours before they arrive.” Jason placed a pillow over his face. “What am I getting myself into?” Wilson chuckled. “You really want to know?” Jason removed the pillow, staring at Wilson. “We need more investors since Abagail Hawthorne has gone M.I.A. He had a couple of investors in mind, but can’t seal the deal with them yet so he’s hoping to get you to win them over at the infamous Christmas party.” Jason sighed, aggravated, but got out of the bed grabbing a shirt to cover himself since his sister was in the room. “What are we going to do about Dan, Jason? I for one am sick of him f*****g up our lives and controlling us.” She said, standing up from the bed. He could see her clearer now. His sister was just as fit as him, just more feminine and thin, with long black hair fit into a ponytail. She was shorter, taking more from their mother’s height and looking more like Cheryl every time she became upset. “I agree. Dan is actually the reason why I’m in this mess I’m in. I will meet you guys in the living room in about an hour. I need to clear my mind for this damn meeting.” Wilson and Janet exited the room while Jason prepared himself for the meeting. Jason and Janet stared into the conference room that had a glass window around the outside as the board members walked in and took their seats. “f*****g scumbags all voting to pimp me out,” Janet complained angrily. “We won’t let that happen, Janet.” Wilson held her cheeks like a loving father would. Jason turned to see Dan walking in, giving them a death glare as he took his seat. “The devil himself just walked in,” Jason announced, standing up straight from leaning against the wall. “So how are we going to play this? Dan won’t give up on Janet easily.” He continued looking to Wilson for the answers. Wilson remained quiet, unable to think of how to approach the situation. “Why can’t I go in there? I can speak for myself.” Janet said as she began walking to the conference room. Jason and Wilson held her back. “As much I know you want to go in there and just curse out everyone, you can’t,” Jason explained. “Let Wilson and I handle this the only way Dan understands, and that’s money. We can pitch the expansion as risk considering Abagail isn’t investing since she is missing. We can use that to our advantage, maybe buy us some time.” Wilson liked the idea but knew it to be flawed. “Let’s just go in. We will keep you posted.” Wilson said grabbing Jason to walk around to the entrance. “Why did you bring her now of all times? This is really the worst time to have her around Dan.” Jason whispered now that they were alone. “I know, but with everything happening, I thought it best that she come stay with me for a while. That way we can keep a close eye on her.” Wilson explained, keeping his voice low. “But now you have her closer than ever to Dan. That’s the mother fucker you need to be protecting her from.” They opened the door to complete chatter until they walked in. “Good morning! It’s hump day everyone and as you know I have made a proposal for expansion with my daughter taking over the second Sanders building on the outskirts of town. The building fee and investors’ money is all in the folders I have laid out for you on the table.” Dan spoke, grabbing the folders once Wilson and Jason were seated. Jason glanced at his twin sister as she watched from the window in pure anger, unable to hear the conversation. Understandably so, her whole future was based on these sleazebags, who undressed her with their eyes and fantasized about being in bed with her. Jason opened the folder, indulging in Dan’s proposal while trying to come up with a plan in his mind. He glanced across at Wilson who was amazed at the documents. “Dan, how did you put all this together so fast?” Wilson asked, looking up at him. “I have my ways, Mr. Fitzpatrick. After all, my name is Dan Sanders.” The board members chuckled, all ten of them. “The only problem is you made plans without making sure you have a second person to take over. Janet Sanders isn’t going to be sleeping with men for money like the little w***e you want her to be.” Jason spoke up, staring right at his father who glanced up to Janet. “This is a family business, Jason. It’s only fitting she becomes an active partner in her family’s fortune.” Dan replied with a slick comeback and a smile, winning over the board. Jason cursed in his mind. “Has anyone performed a survey to see how many men or women would be willing to even go to a woman s*x doctor? I mean I believe men will f**k anything for free and not for the price of one thousand dollars for an hour. We will never see revenue?” Wilson explained with much conviction. Jason smiled as Wilson came through with the numbers and the sense. “One look at my beautiful daughter I predict we can make twice if not three times the amount my son makes here. Men are less complicated to deal with than women in some cases.” Dan retorted, having all the answers put together, frustrating Jason and Wilson. “What about the building prices and the furniture costs?” One board member asked, flipping through the proposal. “It’s all there. Page thirteen.” Jason rolled his eyes, standing up abruptly. “Janet can refuse to do this. I can allow you to hurt me and use me, but not her Dan for f**k’s sake she is your daughter.” He said with his voice rasped with anger, still much left over from last night. Dan pulled out a sheet of paper from his folder, handing it to Jason. Jason looked confused, but then stared at the paper in horror. Wilson stood, grabbing the paper from his hands. “You son of a b***h!” Jason screamed. Wilson placed his hands on his nose in disbelief. “Dan I can’t believe you made your kids sign a contract when they were fourteen. They didn’t know what the f**k they were doing.” Dan folded his arms. “I knew one day they would want to gain a conscience. It’s just a reminder I have full responsibility for their funds and any profit. They didn’t complain when they spent the money so now, by law she is obligated to help this family business. It’s a win-win.” Jason backed away disgusted at the man and almost admiring his evilness. He thought of everything and left nothing to chance. Such a slick bastard. Janet opened the door wide. “If you think I will ever sell my body for you, you have another thing coming!” She screamed in Dan’s face. Wilson held her back from hitting him. “I f*****g hate you! All of you can go to hell and suck on the devil’s d**k. You all are sick bastards for even listening to this evil son of a bitch.” Wilson glanced at Jason as he pulled Janet out with much effort. Jason walked around the table staring at Dan as intensely as he could before walking out the room. Janet paced back and forth in the lobby holding her head as she did so. “I can’t believe that son of a…” “Everyone let’s calm down.” Wilson grabbed her shoulders, but she jerked away. “Calm down? Did you not see that s**t Dan pulled in there?” Jason pointed back into the conference room. “He has some contract on us that we signed when we were teenagers how the f**k is that even legal?” Jason replied with the most pissed off look Wilson had ever seen. “I will look into this. In the meantime, keep your heads held up. We still have time. Dan needs the investors no matter what the f**k those board members say. You’ve got to have the money before any plan can fall through. I need you both with a clear head on this so we can work together to stop this.” Janet shook her head. “There is no stopping him. That man is ruthless. I don’t see how my mother fell for him.” She said as tears began to fall down her eyes. Jason wrapped his arms around her in a hug as she cried on his chest. “You better fix this Wilson. How could you not know what that man was planning when you are the co-owner?” “Dan and I have been on strange terms. I try not to get in the way of this business stuff. I’m only here for your kids. I’m sorry this happened, but like we always do, we will make it right.” Jason nodded believing the man would try, but knowing there was no hope. “You come back with me, Janet? I can drop you off on my way.” “No. I need some time with Jason.” Wilson nodded walking off. Jason looked down at his sister. “Hungry?” “Starving.” She replied. He nodded as they walked out the door.
