Chapter 8

After a few minutes of hot drying, "We're done...beautiful hair..you didn't tell me your name," she said, running the comb back through my hair.

"Thank you very much, madam," she said, "and now I have to leave." I said as I put my hair behind my ear, and stood up.

"Mileen," I said hurriedly

She furrowed her eyebrows in annoyance as she looked at me, "But..." she said

"I'm sorry, but I have to go. My fiancé Nate and the others must be worried about me," I said, though I'm not sure if Nate was really worried for me.

"At least can you wait for Andreas to come back? He wanted to talk to you," said his mother

"About what?" I said

I thought that Andreas had helped me and saved me from death twice, and I owed him my life. It was worth staying to hear what he had to say and I should thank him before I left.

"I really don't know, but he'll be back before sunset," she said

"Okay, I'll wait for him to come back," I said

His mother nodded to me and left the room. I tried to drink the strange-tasting herbal tea, and I felt nauseous. It tasted awful.

---Andreas---

I had completed many of my office work for this day, at the headquarters of my father's Dot-Wolf company, and despite being a homeless wolf in the past, my return to my family made me gain many skills in record time, as soon as I integrated into the company's business and projects.

"The study of the project is ready, it remains to enter the data" I told him as I put the file in front of him on the desk

"Well done Andreas... You know? Marcus is also trying to present his competitive project to the authorities of the city of Cologne, as well as to the Black Wolves group," said my father.

"Why this fevered competition for our field of work?" said my brother Mars, who was sitting at my father's desk.

"An ancient conflict between the ancestors passed down through the generations. Marcus and the Black Wolves group have always been among our most dangerous competitors and they wanted to monopolize the projects of the entire city of Cologne" said my father

While they were like this I was still thinking about the rest of the chores, "Excuse me, I have to leave, I've got some work at the butcher, I must have been screaming from exhaustion alone there," I said.

"You need some rest Andreas, you can't stress yourself like that" said my father

"And don't forget to also prepare for your next match with that arrogant," said Mars

"It's okay, I'll be fine," I said

I walked towards the door to leave, my father's voice behind me interrupted me, "Andreas, I forgot to tell you that your mother called me a while ago and told me that girl...was awake, I think she's cured." He said

I nodded, my heart pounding to hear it, I didn't add a word when I left the office, I was thinking how to tell her to leave Kolog, I'll work on it even if I move her myself.

I walked toward the butcher, where Caden had finished work alone, and was getting ready to leave. "Hey man, you're late," he said nervously.

"Excuse me, I can promise you that I will make up for my work tomorrow," I said

"It's okay, I think you're working too hard, I think you're coming to the club tonight, your friend Claudia will be there too," he said, removing his white robe.

"Claudia! I don't know anyone with that name," I said

"That girl you abandoned earlier is starting to drink too much because of you," he said

"I don't know what you're talking about, I don't promise anyone, but maybe I'll try to come check it out," I said

The sun was about to set, when I left for the house, I found my mother talking on her phone and walked towards that girl's room

I knocked quietly on the door and when I heard her voice letting me in I felt a little scared

I saw her standing there by the window, and it seemed that she knew I was coming, I contemplated her long golden hair which she had pushed back with her hand. As I filled the room with its beautiful smell

She turned towards me and then looked down silently as I stared at her for a long time and seemed frightened and nervous, so I decided to break the silence.

"Are you feeling better?" I said

She nodded, "Yeah, I'm better now." She said

"Have you come... to scold me?" she said, passing her hand over her injured arm

"And what would I do?" I said strangely

"Because we simply intruded on your areas and disturbed you," she said

Her hands were trembling because of me, and it really bothered me

I moved closer to her, as she leaned back and pressed against the wall behind her. I grabbed her chin and lifted it towards me.

"You, like all humans, now think that I'm a wild beast that will pounce on you, don't you?" I said

She remained silent and did not answer as panic filled her wide hazel eyes

"What is your name?" I said

"Mileen," she said

I can no longer stand those puppy looks, though spontaneous, but they affect me in some way. So I walked away from her

"You must get ready to leave town at once, you are in danger," I said

"Why? You mean the vampire? I think we're the ones who caused the danger to the area, I...I know how involved Nate was when he brought his men to hunt you," she said.

"Our hunting!?" I said and couldn"t stop myself from smiling

"Yes, Nate is determined to make his dream come true here to hunt a mythical creature," she said

"Huh, can you believe that i***t, do you really feel safe with him, he was a big donkey when he took you to the most dangerous place on earth" I said.

"I know... I never really relied on Nate to protect me, but that doesn't give you the right to talk about him like that in front of me because he's my fiancé," she said angrily, then sat on the bed.

Her fiance! I can't believe how she agreed to be in a relationship with a psychopath like him who would never have known the extent of his responsibilities.

"I don't care about him, and he must have learned a lesson in the woods by now. He's definitely not going back there again," I said.

She looked at me, "You don't know Nate... he won't come back to our home, especially after he found out that there are vampires in the woods," she said.

And she continued, "...But I want to thank you for what you've done for me. You hardly know me, but you risked your life to save me. I've never seen a man of your courage."

Her words struck my heart like magic as it beat in a strange way, but I kept my steady appearance before her.

"I have to leave now," she said standing up

I walked two miles towards the door of the room and I don't know what happened to me I was stiff in my place staring at her, something inside me refused to leave her to that called Nate.

She turned to me with a smile, when I was silent I looked at her to leave the room ... I got up from my stuttering and followed her.

I let Andreas stand there, and I couldn't tell what he was thinking. I nodded at him with a shy smile. The atmosphere here had so many strange charges that I wanted to leave quickly.

When I turned the knob on the outside door, I was surprised to see two men entering the house, I think they are related to Andreas because of the slight similarity between them

"Oh, I see you're fine," said the blond-haired boy, while the other stared at me, scanning my body with his eyes.

I saw Andreas follow me to stand by my side "My brother Mars and Frederic" said Andreas hurriedly

"That's two miles," he said, pointing at me

That named Frederick came towards me and extended his hand to shake my hand, I felt him press my hand warmly, "Nice to meet you," he said and his green eyes sparkled.

I was frightened by his looks that did not leave my bare neck and shoulders, and Andreas quickly pushed me gently towards the door.

"Mars, can you accompany the girl to her house?" he said

"Andreas, why are you firing our guest now?" Mars said with a smile

"It"s okay, I asked to leave," I said

Frederick was still standing with his hands in his pocket, and I didn't understand what he was doing with those predatory looks.

I turned to leave and found my shoes by the door, I put them on and was happy after I thought I would come back barefoot.

I walked with Mars and took one last look at Andreas, who seemed angry without understanding why he was so angry, and then went back inside and shut the door.

"Are you leaving for your city?" said Mars

"Yes, my work and my private life are there in Delphi," I said

"What is your job?" he said

"I work in business administration and programming for a fashion design company," I said

"Your work is great... Koloj City lacks such things," he said

I watched the place around me as we walked on the highway in the dark, there were only a few small cafes where many men had gathered.

"Why don't I see women here, I mean there are a lot of men in this place" I said

"Indeed, we have been suffering from a lack of females here since many years ago. We don't know the reason for that, winning a female werewolf here is the dream of every male to mate since the age of eighteen or so my father told me" he said.

I felt strange talking to him as if we were in a documentary about the animal world, he turned towards him and was looking forward

"Do you mean your females or human females?" I said

"Of course I mean our females, we don't mate with humans except in rare cases," he said

I was ashamed to talk like that with a man I don't know and decided to change the course of our conversation

"Do you live with people?" I said

"No, this district belongs to my father"s group, while you and your comrades are now staying in a neutral area," he said

"You mean everyone in this area are wolves?" I said surprised

"Yes, but we don't show who we really are to the guests," he said with a smile

I thought if Nate found out, he'd at least hunt two people out of here, we should get out of here as soon as possible.

We were now standing in front of my house, and I said goodbye to Mars and had so much fun talking to him along the way, at least I got to know some things about this area that Nate shouldn't have known from him.

I knocked on the door several times, and the door opened to reveal Nate in front of me

"Russell, you're alive," he said with astonishment, and suddenly he hugged me as he passed his hand over my head.

Stepping back, "I can't believe you're out of the woods for the second time fine." He said with a wide smile

"Shall we go in?" I said coldly

"Yes, my love," he said, making way for me to come in.

I went straight into the room to get my bag, and immediately put on another shirt with a jacket. Andreas' mother's shirt was a little revealing.
