Chapter 13

Currently watching tv in her brothers ginormous man cave, Ryan checked her phone for any notifications. Chris and Sulem were out to get her some more things and her mother was out doing church business. Which left Ryan in the huge house by herself. To into her phone she didn't even hear the doorbell go off. She sighed and placed her phone on the arm of the couch before getting up and exiting out the room. Making her way to the front door, she heard another knock. She opened the door and instantly wished she hadn't. "What are you doing on this doorstep?" Ryan snapped as she leaned on the door. "It's nice to see you too, Ryan" Tasha smirked. Ryan rolled her eyes, "Do you not know the meaning of no?" Tasha ignored her and peeked into the house which caused Ryan to hold the door closer in case of having to slam it in her face. "Is Chris here? I didn't see his car in the driveway." "Well you just answered your own question." Tasha sighed and crossed her arms over her chest. "I didn't come to fight, Ryan. I just—" "Save the bullshit, Tasha. Let me tell you something. My brother, the one you keep following around like a lost puppy does not want you. He's moved on to something better and he does not need to have a psychopath everywhere he goes. So this is my only and final warning. Leave him be!" Ryan said in a serious tone before slamming the door in her face. She made it her business to tell her brother. This girl was getting out of control and needs to be felt with before someone seriously gets hurt. On the other side, Tasha glared at the door long and hard before finally walking away. That b***h really slammed the door in my face. She made her way back to her car and got in. She pulled out her phone and went to her contacts. Once finding the number she needed to find she clicked on it. "Hello" "Hello Joel." Tasha spoke cheerfully into the phone. "What do you want, Tasha?" A deep frown covered Tasha's lips, "Is that a way to talk to your sister?" She heard him click his tongue. "What do you want, man." Rolling her eyes, "I need your help." "What?" "You remember Chris, right?" "Yeah, what about him?" "I'm trying to get back with him but he has to many distractions and I also heard that he is transferred to HEAT meaning he will be on the same team as you." She said causing more confusion to him. "What does that have to do with me helping you?" Tasha smirked before looking back towards the house. "You will be getting a lot of attention from a young friend of mine." Sighing came on the other end, "Look Tasha, I'm not about to get caught in some s**t of yours just so you can have a man." Tasha's frown deepened, "Don't forget who your talking to, Joel. I'm the one who got you on that wack ass team your on so it wouldn't hurt for you to return the favor." "Fvck you, Tasha." "That's what I thought. I call you and let you know my plans." She said before hanging up the phone. She looked at the house once again. That will be her living in that house one day. A evil smirk appeared on her face at the thought of Chris thinking it was really over. She was back and everyone better prepare because heat was coming every single way. This was a new beginning Sulem walked into the building of her work place. She couldn't help but wonder what was so urgent that she had to be up at her job this late. She knocked twice before entering Reynolds office. He sat nicely in the chair with his arm crossed and his computer opened. He looked to be stressing. "Hey Rey, is everything okay?" Sulem questioned as she took a seat in one of the chairs. "Yes, it is. I called you here for a reason, Sulem." Confusion washing down her face, "Is it serious?" Exhaling Reynolds, spoke with a serious tone, "Very." He took a minute typing before turning the computer in her direction. Her heart shattered at the sight of her and Chris actually kissing in public. And that's not the worse part. Below, it revealed her name and a say that he let them released the pictures. Gasping lowly, Sulem looked up at a serious Reynolds. "Rey—" "No need for explanation, Sulem. I put you with Chris because he was a challenge and as I said before, could take your career to the next level. But instead your out there having an intimate relationship with your patient." Reynolds sighed and closed the computer. This was exactly what Sulem was worried about. She had a deep gut feeling that this would come out. As the old tale says, what's done in the dark comes to the light. She never would have thought, throughout their entire time together would Chris pull this. "I'm sorry, Reynolds. It was just—" "A mistake?" He questioned lifting a brow. Sulem looked down as she played with her fingers. "Sulem, you are truly a miracle worker. That's why I put you with a professional basketball player because I seen something in you but clearly you couldn't keep the therapist and the patient professional." Sulem sighed as she felt her eyes sting. She felt so betrayed and at that moment she didn't want anything to do with Chris. "I'm sorry, Rey." Reynolds stared at Sulem for a moment longer before letting out a loud exhale. "I'm not going to fire you." He said which put some warmth in her heart. "But you will be going back down. Your going to take Bryant's hours and work as a yoga instructor. Calm the mind of women." Sulem met eyes with Reynolds and saw that same serious look in his eyes. "And you will no longer see Chris. If I find out that you are in public with him than I will have no choice but to let you go." "I understand." "Great. You may go home now. I'll see you in the morning." He dismissed her as he went back to work. Sulem walked out and made it to her car. Once she got in she couldn't even start her car. Tears cascaded down her face as she let out subtle cries. She couldn't do it anymore. Just then her phone went off and it just had to be him. "Sulem, I—" "Chris...." she trailed off. Her voice broken as she tried her hardest to not cry out loud. She really felt something deep for Chris and as always, it's a lead on. "What's wrong, baby?" "You...you leaked the photos of us at the club and at the movies. Why?" There was a silence on the other end. Sulem felt more tears come down her face. "Why would you do it?!" She sobbed as she wiped away her some of her tears. "Sulem, I just wanted....I just..." "You what, Chris?" Silence covered on the other end once again. "I thought we were really something Chris. After I risked my job and everything, all I asked of you was to not let us get out yet but you decided on that. I could've have lost my job and luckily I didn't." Sulem inhaled sharply. "I can't do this. Your to confusing and your making it really, really hard for me." She couldn't help but let out a cry. Chris felt his heart break hearing her cry. Especially knowing he was the cause. She was right. "Sulem, I'm sorry I did this but I didn't it for a reason. Just know I never meant to hurt you." Sulem scoffed. "I'm done, Chris." She ended the line and threw her phone in the passenger seat. Could it get any worse?
