"Wait, how did you know how to get me out of there?" Sakiya questioned. Sylis looked at her for a moment to study her, not blaming her for being suspicious. "I tried for hours, Sakiya. I finally figured out the code. The code being something I should have expected from the get go, considering my sister's change in persona." Sylis iterated. Sakiya was a little confused. "If it's something we should have known all along, how were you able to put it together?" Sakiya asked. "Well, quite easy. The man in question's date of birth, you see." Sylis smirked. Sakiya smiled along with him, but that smile quickly turned into a frown. "It seems Sadie is obsessed. That can't be good for any of us." Sakiya told him. he was readily able to agree with her, seeing that he also noticed the same thing. His sister being obsessed with Mr. Black would mean that she would do anything to get close to him, even if that meant putting others beneath her.
"You're right. This is something we're gonna have to plan into whatever we decide to do. However, I want you to know that I'm coming with you either way." Sylis strewed. Sakiya wasn't very fond of this, as she knew Sadie would know what was going on and that we had found her out, well at least some what. "But Sylis, if you come with me and Maranda, that could mean bad things for you. Your sister would declare you an enemy and so would your parents. If that was to happen, they would be after you too. You could lose a lot by helping me." Sakiya said sadly. She didn't want to see Sylis ruin his life or put himself in harms way because of her. She would love to have his help, she just didn't want him to risk his own wellbeing doing so. "I'm going to help, even if that means losing my whole family." Sylis said seriously, looking at Sakiya with direct eye contact. Sakiya looked at him, wondering what she could've done to deserve someone so selfless, even with the intention of going against their whole family. She was grateful for it though, as she hadn't had anyone since her family left her, and even then they weren't able to live a normal life because of them having to go into hiding. Sakiya didn't know the exact reasons, but now that she was getting older, she could sense that something wasn't right with their arrest. When her parents left her, she thought it was due to drugs or drug dealing, considering the condition of her mother, but now as she looks back, her mother was addicted because of issues she couldn't comprehend. She was learning, though.
"How do you want to do this? Like, what are you expecting to happen? Is there something you want from this specifically?' Sylis asked Sakiya, and she had to think about that for a moment. She wasn't sure what she wanted out of everything, short of being able to expose the real reasoning behind things and to find out the reason behind her parent's incarceration and why they were taken from her. She knew it wouldn't be easy, and considering the people involved in all of this, maybe even a death wish. She didn't care though. If she died knowing the truth, at least she would be happy with that. "I honestly have no idea, Sylis. I think I'm just going to go with the flow, and let whatever there is watching us guide me to what's supposed to happen. I've always been taught that fate has its way, and I'm sure this situation is no different. The things we're learning and apart from, have their reasons. I'd like to think that anyway, of course," Sakiya replied. She wasn't sure about anything at that moment. The only thing she was sure of, was that she didn't want to live this life anymore.
Sakiya was starting to get over talking about things, as she knew they didn't have much time to get away from here. It was nearing 7 p.m, and she knew Maranda would be waiting for her at the library. They couldn't hide much longer if they wanted to reach their time limit on Maranda expecting them to arrive. "Sylis, we need to go. We can't stay in one spot too long, anyone would know this. Even in the movies, that's how people get caught. We aren't gonna be those crazy white people who check everything out, we are NOT dying today!" Sakiya sequestered, moving her hands in front of her in a dramatic motion. Sylis laughed at her analogy. "White people are white people for a reason. How dare you make fun of our willingness to be idiots in tough situations?" Sylis laughed. He knew Sakiya was right, and they needed to move on. They may have been joking, but even he knew that they had to make it somewhere far away from here if they wanted to continue their plan. Sakiya looked up at him as he looked around the stone wall from the small hidden area they had isolated themselves in, waiting for anyone to make themselves known. They weren't able to spot or hear anyone, so Sylis decided to move on, waving Sakiya to follow behind him. Sylis made his way down the rope ladder of the tree house, reaching the bottom. He grabbed Sakiya's hand, helping her climb down until she was next to him. Once they cleared the area again, they started moving to their next destination.
"I have a small getaway house. No one has known about it except for me and one of my most trusted friends. He's actually supposed to be visiting the mansion soon, and I don't know how he's going to react to find out I've run away. I'm hoping I will have a way to reach him and explain." Sylis told Sakiya. Sakiya was a little nervous about that. "If someone knew that we could be here, you aren't nervous about them giving away our location?" Sakiya asked with worry. She was nervous of anyone that could possibly know where they were, as they could tell the others within the family circle where they were located. Sakiya didn't want that, she wanted to get far away before anyone found out they were even gone, but that was already a fail as they came across one of Sadie's servants, who they were sure had informed her as soon as they got the chance. They didn't have much time to get away, so they had to think ahead and clearly. "What if we leave town? No one would even think to realize we skipped town, they would think we're still here somewhere in hiding. They know I've never been away from here since the day I was taken in by your parents. That being the case, they wouldn't think to look for us outside of here, let alone farther than they would expect." Sakiya said to Sylis. He thought on it in front of her, even though he had planned to leave town. Sylis had a friend willing to help them, but he didn't want to reveal that to Sakiya right away. Now that she had brought it up, he felt like he owed it to her to be honest. "Sakiya, I actually have a friend willing to help. He's about three towns over, and is expecting our arrival. I may have arranged for us earlier than you may have expected." Sylis told her, clenching his teeth to wait for her reaction as he was squeemish. She punched him in the arm immediately, irritated at his response. "Why couldn't you tell me this ahead of time, instead of making me nervous not knowing where we're going to end up next. You're a jackass, you know that?" Sakiya rendered. Sylis laughed it off in an awkward manner. They just knew they had to get to the library, grab Maranda, and make their next move. Sakiya refused to go to a different household, and she would die before she did.
