Phil was trying to dial Amy’s number and he was shaking.
“Look, I'm so happy I can’t even dial” he said smiling.
Nora smiled as well.
“Tell me about it! It’s so great! Not only I got the job but we also had the chance to see him. That’s really great.”
“Yes it is, a week’s job, is done in one day” he said.
He put his phone on speaker and held it between them. Amy answered.
“We’re listening” she said immediately
“Well, she got the job!” Phil said full of excitement.
“Oh my God that is awesome!! Congratulations Nora, you made it!”
Nora smiled.
“Thank you, but I wouldn’t have made it without you guys. So huge thanks to all of you!”
“Nonsense” said Amy.
“Amy, are we on speaker?” Phil asked.
“Yes you are.” Kate said. “We can all hear you.”
“OK great. Guys we do have some news and we need to get together to plan everything. We should get organized. As I have informed Amy, I met him, he is here. And Nora also met him.”
“Did he see Nora?” Tony asked.
“Yes, he saw me. We took the same elevator, spoke a bit, nothing else. We didn’t have the chance to talk more.”
“I bet he flirted with you” said Kevin.
Nora laughed.
“That’s hard to say, I think he tried to flirt and then he was just polite. But you know how he is.”
“Unfortunately, we know him too well” Kevin replied and everyone laughed.
“OK, we are on our way to the underground and we will be in the hotel in 30 minutes. I think is better to have a video call so that we can discuss a few things.”
“Yes” Amy replied. ”We will be waiting.”
“Great, we will give you a call once we reach the hotel” Phil said, and hung up the phone.
Nora looked at him.
“I should move here. We have to find an apartment” she said looking at him. “I just realized that.”
“Don’t worry. I own an apartment in the city and you will stay there. We are not able to stay there at the moment, because I am currently renovating. It will be over more or less in a month.”
“Are you sure? Can I stay there?” Nora asked.
“Definitely” Phil replied. “Come on, let’s go to the hotel, it seems is about to rain today.”
They looked at each other and laughed.
At Mark’s place later in the day.
“So, before the ladies arrive, would you like to tell me what happened at work and you yelled at Anna?” Niko asked him.
Mark looked at him surprised.
“What you mean?” He said.
“Come on Mark, I know you were not feeling well. I saw you and I have to say that I am worried.”
“You get worried very easily” said Mark laughing.
“Maaaark?” Niko said.
Mark smiled.
“OK, he said, you got me. I met this lady…”
“Wait, you did what?” Niko interrupted him
“Please let me finish.”
“Yes, sorry, continue.”
“As I was saying, I met this lady and ever since I have this weird feeling. I think I know her but I cannot recall seeing her before. You know, she gave me this feeling that she knew me or I knew her? I don’t know how to explain this. There was something about her.”
“OK, where did you meet her?”
“On the elevator at work.”
“Hm, she is a colleague then.”
“No, not yet at least, she had her interview today.”
“Oh OK, I see. For which position?”
“I don’t know I haven’t asked her.”
“OK, and what happened after?”
“There is nothing more to say. She was going to the reception, I took the same elevator as her and we talked a bit.”
“Beautiful one?”
“Yes.”
“And you can’t stop thinking of her, right?”
“Yes, is really weird isn’t it?! I probably will not see her again” Mark said and smiled at Niko.
Niko wanted to say something but at the same time, they heard keys at the door. Mark gestured at Niko not to say anything else as the ladies were coming in.
“Oh here you are” said Anna smiling. “It took us a while but we made it, she said and left the bags in the kitchen.”
“It’s raining cats and dogs outside” JJ said smiling at them and put the umbrella on the floor.
