Lyra;
I could hear his voice coming towards my room, it lingered in my ears. The voice that I loved over the years was the same thing I dreaded right now. The thought of seeing him putting on a fake smile and acting all good made me shiver to my spines.
My mind was rumbled, should I just break up with him? Or just try and act as if nothing happened between us, while making him go through hell, just like Vanessa.
My mind wasn’t made up; but I wasn’t going to let anything slide. Since I was reborn, I knew everything that was going to happen, both bad and good, only if I had forgotten about it.
I could hear his voice from a distance, his loud and husky voice that always accompanied a fake smile that pulled me towards him, making me fall head over heels for me. Well, that was the past, the former Lyra.
My door was pushed open until his face came to my sight. The first thing I remembered was when he pushed me. The kind of hatred he had on his face and how he badly wanted to murder me. I dreaded his sight.
“I’m sorry, but I should have visited you earlier, but we had this urgent meeting at work today, don’t worry, Vanessa will fill you in on all the details. By the way…” he stopped talking and was quiet for a while; he probably noticed that I ever responded to everything he was saying. Besides, my face was sour and he probably knew that he wasn’t wanted here.
His scent lingered in my nose and around the room. It was awkward; he didn’t know what to say next given the fact that I wasn’t showing interest in what he was saying. Who would have known that this innocent looking man could have betrayed me years later, murdered me, made me work my butt off making it result in cancer. I couldn't attend my father’s funeral and the only family I had cut ties with me. My blood boiled in anger, I couldn’t keep up with the fact of staying with him anymore, and he disgusted me.
“I want to break up,” I suddenly blurted, not thinking twice. I have had enough of him. He seemed taken aback for a moment there. He couldn’t believe his ears especially since I acted all love struck whenever I was with him.
“What?” It took him a long time before he finally answered.
“You heard me, I’m done with whatsoever we have going on,”
He seemed angered; he always hated the idea of us breaking up. He always claimed to love me and wouldn’t be able to cope if we broke up.
“You are not breaking up with me,” he mumbled rashly and immediately grabbed my hand. He never changed one bit, he was still the same as the past life William.
I wasn’t caught by surprise, but he tightened his grip around my wrist, making me whine in pain. Io wasn’t going to show weakness anymore.
“Williams, let go of my wrist now!” I tried commanding but that only made it worse. His eyes darkened and he looked scary. He had the same look on when he pushed me towards the glass table which brought back past bad memories.
I didn’t think twice when I yelled, “Maddie, Father, help!”
They were the only two trustworthy people I have right now.
In a second, they all rushed to where I was but too bad, he already let go of my hand and put on a sweet, innocent smile that irked me out.
Before father could even say anything, he already blurted, “She wants to break up with me.”
Vanessa’s eyes flashed for a quick second, but she covered it up with a confused look. All eyes were on me before father finally scoffed before raising his hands up in the air like it was no big deal.
“She’s probably hallucinating; you know she isn’t feeling that well. Don’t fret Williams. She will eventually come back to her senses.”
I already knew that was going to be his answer, because everyone knows how much I loved William, so why would I suddenly break up with him on such short notice and for no valid reason?
I could feel that he was a little relieved, and then I smirked and faced Father.
“Father, I am not hallucinating. I want to break up with William.”
