Chapter 1
Harrison Dalton loved attention, maybe even more than money. He loved it when people shouted his name, or when the paparazzi would flash camera at his face. He would walk away like nothing happened, yet he knew, he knew, they still would follow him like a lost puppy. And he loved it.
At an age of 35, he became highly successful, with now owning one of the top company in the world - H.D Enterprise. Not many could say they graduate high school at 16 or graduate at a prestige collage, such as Yale, at age 20. No, it was only him and his smartness. And now here he is, a successful businessman to a rising company.
That seems like a miracle...
Harrison was stuck in a meeting, upstate in New York at his headquarters. He sat at the end of the table to watch others around him trying to fill him in on how things were being taken care of. However, he seemed like he didn't care. It was a meeting that he had to endure every week based on the same thing. When to expand, or what's new for the company, the stock market, or much others, that now he knew what to come.
"Mr. Dalton, did you here me?" He snapped out of daze and look over to an older man, close to the 50's as he blankly looked at him. "Do you think it's wise to jump head on the plan to expand so quickly?" The man asked.
Harrison frowned. He hated how people asked him if he made the right choice - why couldn't they trust him, and not question his ability. God, he basically hired all the people for the company, so they could question him? He thought. "I heard, Mr -" He looked at the tag on the man suit. "Mr. Elton, I know what I'm doing. But if you or anyone ask me if it's a good idea to expand, I will get pissed off, shout "hell yeah!" in your face, and fire you myself. Is that clear?" He slammed his hand on the table, scaring everyone for a moment before they nodded. Now, after his snap, all became silent, not daring to ask much more.
"Now, I think we discussed enough, so I must go." Harrison stood up and not bothering to shake any of their hands and left slamming the door behind him. Others who were outside, heard the commotion in the meeting room, and could only glance at Mr. Dalton as he walked away into the elevator and up to his office.
Quiet was all he wanted when he step foot in his office. He sat down in his chair and leaned back his head letting out a frustrated groan. He spun around in his chair, and closed his eyes, now thinking what to do. Suddenly, a knock on his office door made him open his eyes and sat up. "Come in." Was all he said in a gruff voice.
A young petite women, with light blonde hair peaked her head in before walking in showing her full self. She was wearing a black high waisted pencil skirt with a black shirt, showing small part of cleavage.
Harrison looked at the nervous young lady, and thought that he never seen her before. Was she new? "Who are you?" He quickly demanded.
She rolled her eyes and answered him, "Olivia Welsh." With that, it clicked for him, she was his new personal assistant. "I'm your new -" Cutting her off.
"Personal Assistant." He finished for her. "I remember now." He looked at her once more and soon his eyes lingered on her breast area.
She seems to sense the silence between them and his lingering eyes, so she stepped up next to his desk and flicked him on the forehead. "What the hell!" He shouted as he abruptly stood up and faced her with anger in his eyes.
"You know, I could report you for s****l harassment." She deadpanned as she sat down at the empty seat across from him as she crossed her legs.
"That wasn't even harassment." He argued back.
"It is, in the regulation book, if someone feel uncomfortable cause someone eyes keep looking at your breast…" She looked at him for a second. "Could definitely be harassment."
He scowled and sat back down. "Fine, you win this time, but never do that again."
"Could tell you the same." She said back. "Now I have a job to do, so what need to be helped with, Mr. Dalton."
"Harrison." He told her as he sat up straight and handed her a document. "I need you to make some copies of this for me."
She looked up at him as if he was crazy. "I'll stick with Mr. Dalton." She stood up, grabbed the sheet out of his hand and walked out his office. As she was leaving, Harrison couldn't help but give her a few more glances from behind, before she finally left.
He somehow was intrigue by her, yet he still didn't like her...
