Disappointment

It is Saturday morning. I cook breakfast and set a lunch box for Papa. I clean up everything and do the laundry. Mom seems like having a hang over because she got home late last night and as usual she was drunk. She called me and ask to make her coffee. I make coffee for Mama and go back to finish my laundry. I left my phone at the table where Mama eat her breakfast. I heard that my phone beep so I go back to where I left my phone. I saw Mama already holding my phone and read the message. I am positive that it’s John who texted me. I am scared on how Mama looked at me. “You b***h! You already got a boyfriend? You are only 16 and you already have a boyfriend? She slaps me and said. You are too young for it. You want to be a young Mother? This man will only hurt you and get you pregnant. You better stay away from him while it is early.” She said. She give me my phone and walk out. I read the message and it is John who texted me “Good Morning Babe! I did not sleep well last night thinking of you. I hope to see you tonight. I love you”

I finish my laundry while crying. Seems like I don’t have the right to be happy. I was devastated and wanted to pack my things and leave this house. I am just thinking of Papa ang my small siblings. And that holds me from doing that. I just pray to God to enlightened me so that I won’t put grudge on my Mom. After done with the laundry I rest at my room and saw a text from Kiven. “Hey Lyn! I hope that you can hang out with us tonight. Take care! I did not response to his text. After a few minutes I heard my phone is ringing. John is calling… Oh no! I pick up the phone and answered it. “Babe I missed you!” He said. I hope to meet you tonight. I will see John if Papa will let me. “Alright Babe! I just called you so that I can hear your voice.” He is so sweet. Seems like I will fall easily to him. Goodbye Babe! See you soon. “John said” Goodbye John! I decided not to go and see John tonight instead I will go and meet my friends tonight. I wear a jeans and a black shirt. I tied my long hair and just wear flats. Papa let me hang out with friends until 10.

I take a ride going to the Park which is our hang out area. When I reach the park I saw my friends from afar. When I am already near to them I saw my ex beside Kiven. They are currently drinking and seems like tipsy. They are all happy to see me. Noel offered a sit beside him it is in front of Kiven and Michael my ex. I saw sadness in Michael’s eyes when our eyes meet. I broke up with him 5 months ago because things will not work for the both of us however he don’t want to broke up with me. He still assume that we both still in a relationship. Even if I hate to see him in this situation but I already decided and I am still on the process of moving on. I don’t drink so they just bought me a soda and we just talk. It is already 8 in the evening and I receive a lot of messages. It is from John, Jam and Dianne. John said “ Babe I am waiting here are you still coming tonight?” Jam texted “Where are you?” Dianne texted me” Don’t tell me your not coming? Jenny saw you riding a trysikad she thought you are on your way here” I did not response to their messages. I know for sure John knows that I am not at home. After a few minutes my phone rings. Everybody is looking at me now. They are looking at me like there’s a big question mark on their face. I see that it is John calling so I answered his call. I got nervous when I answered it. Park is so noisy because it is Saturday night and a lot of people hang out in here. I said” Yes John?” The other line is silent and my friends are looking at me so as Michael. It takes a few minutes for John to answer. “Where are you? I am still waiting you here” John seems like a bit drunk. I am sorry John I cannot go there tonight. I am with my friends now at the Park because they really wanted to see me. No worries I will try to see you tomorrow. He suddenly hang up.

Jam’s POV

When Dianne and me arrive to our hang out place the boys are already there with drinks and chips. I sit beside Clark and he kiss me in the cheeks. We drink and having fun. I noticed John is so handsome tonight. Seems like he is so happy and already tipsy. After an hour Jenny arrived and sit beside Justine. John is looking at the tricycle that pass by maybe he expected Lyn to come. Jenny asked “Hey Jam where is Lyn?” Oh she is not here. I answered. “ I saw her riding trysikad I thought she is on her way here. I saw her about an hour ago when I got home from work.” I don’t know where she is now. I said. I saw John is looking at us and drinks beer from his glass. She looks sad now. His happy mode turns into sadness. So I get my phone in my pocket and texted Lyn. She did not response to my messages I think she hang out with her other set of friends. Me and Dianne look at each other and worried about John. We saw John get his phone and calling someone. We heard John said” Where are you? I am still waiting you here.” Seems like he is calling Lyn. After that he hang up and drink a lot. We are just having fun even without Lyn and we are now tipsy. Boys are drunk so we decided to go home.

After John hang up the call seems like I am not comfortable. Michael look at me and ask “who called you earlier? Is he the new one?” Kiven is laughing like a jerk. Everybody is now teasing because Michael is jealous. They are all laughing so Michael got irritated. He ask if we can talk in private so I let him. He begs me that he wanted me back. Please Lyn we will fix this” he said. I replied to him “ Mike we already tried but seems like things did not work. I wanted to save our friendship. If we cannot be a boyfriend and girlfriend at least we remain friends.” Mike walk out and go back to his sit. I bid goodbye to my friends because it is almost 10. As usual I got home on time.
