Chapter One
Chapter One……
I spotted Nicholas, he still looked as good as the first time I saw him when I realized he hadn’t come alone, there was a beautiful blonde beside him with her hand intertwined with his.
My heart ached and I could feel a wave of tears threatening to fall when I glanced across the whole room, not tonight, he does not get to see me break,
Nicholas eye’s met mine and he smirked when he held her hand tightly and was headed toward me, I started to panic, my eyes searched again until I saw a man and I pulled him toward me.
There was no time for an introduction, I needed to do this
The dark tall stranger glanced at me in shock, without giving him time to process, I placed my lips on his, it sent a wave of electric volts through my body, and the thrill of what I was doing filled my body when I softly pulled away.
“Kiss me,” I whispered against my breath, my voice shaky from what I had done and the stranger's eyes were on mine, he had a set of looks, one that I didn’t seem to understand. “Please,” I whispered and I placed my lips on his.
His rough hand suddenly wrapped around my waist and he pulled me closer to him in a second, his lips started to dance against mine, he was rough yet gentle at the same time, I could feel my heart pounding against my chest, and my fingers were shaky.
I have never done this before, only Nicholas could make me do something so reckless.
My attention goes back to the handsome stranger kissing me and his hand that rested against my back, when he deepened the kiss, I found myself melting at the moment, my eyelids resting when I softly bit his lips and permitted him.
“You have no idea what you have done.” The stranger said when he pulled away, his lips swollen as much as mine, and I was about to speak when from the corner of my eyes, I saw Nicholas.
I turned to look at him, I could see him blaring in anger and the blonde beside him, completely clueless of what was going on.
“Thank you for the save stranger.” I smiled, I slipped away from the man’s deadly gaze and I headed to the war.
My lips were swollen, my panties twisted to a knot because of a single kiss, my cheek puffed with redness due to the thought that filled my mind and suddenly I didn’t care about my ex-boyfriend Nicholas.
“What the fuck.” I heard someone grumble from beside me, I didn’t have to look up to know it was him, he was the only man that had the vanilla scent surrounding his body.
“What do you want Nicholas?.” I breathed out, I didn’t want to look at him, I always had a weakness for his golden eyes and he knew that. “Did your blonde friend make you bored already” I smiled.
“What was that?.” He asked.
If he wanted to play the game then I will.
“What was what, I am not yours remember, you can’t tell me what to do and not do, you can’t get upset while you walk into this party with some woman you met.”
“You are better with me than him, do you have any idea who he is and what he could do to you, you kissed the f*****g wrong guy just so that I would be mad.” He yelled and I scoffed.
“He is my date and we came together, do you think I will kiss a stranger because of you.” I gritted through my teeth, my emotions were heightened, I was upset and angry and I didn’t want to have any form of conversation with him.
“What’s going on?.” We both heard a voice booming from behind Nicholas, the stranger came into view, his tone was demanding and the moment Nicholas saw him, his demure changed, he glanced at him with anger and there was a hint of fear.
The stranger moved toward me and I placed my hand in his, the second time this man had come to any aid.
“He was just leaving.” I smiled and Nicholas glared at me, Nicholas didn’t say a word, it was unlike him not to do that when I turned to the stranger.
“Thank you for the save, that’s the second time tonight.” I smiled. “I am Aurora,” I said in the hopes of him informing me of his name.
“Would you like to dance Aurora?.” He asked, he was straightforward, he placed his hand out in the air and without thinking I took it.
The thought of making Nicholas burn made me smile. The stranger and I danced to the music, he was a better dancer than I am. He didn’t speak to me, neither did I.
I would never have to see him again after tonight, it was better that way.
By the time we were done dancing, I saw both Nicholas and his date leaving the place, that’s about it.
“Thank you but I have to leave.” I smiled, but he still didn’t speak, he gave me a nod and I headed out when I was reaching my car. I was stopped when someone called my name.
“Aurora.” The stranger yelled. I watched as all attention was on us when he headed toward me.
“What’s wrong,” I asked
Did he need money for his service, I thought.
“You can’t leave at least not right now.” He stated.
“Thank you for all you have done for me tonight, but I have to leave,” I said when he stopped me again.
“You placed your lips on mine and now they think you are mine.” He said and my eyes widened.
“What do you mean?.” I whispered, who are they? Why did he stare at me like that?
“You kissed the wrong person, sweetheart.” He leaned in close, his voice dark-like. “And now I don’t think I would let you go.”
My stomach dropped, what the hell did I get myself into?
