“You are staring, get up from the floor, Aurora.” Dominic stated, and I looked away, he had a thousand scars on his body, I felt my heart tightened against my chest when my eyes burned with the thought of who did this to him.
Dominic Ricci, the strongest man to every exist, stories about him was terrifying, the man who once controlled the city, he was the strongest mafia king to be known, the terrifying stories of how he killed those people, how he didn’t care that he did that, how he destroyed lives and how he was the king, until it was all over, the one story that changed everything, the story of how he was killed, at least that’s what everyone thought it was.
How he died and let his empire crumble but it was all a lie.
“What happened to you.” I breathed out, the tears that I tried to push back a tear that slipped out of my eyes, his scars imprinted on my mind when he turned to look at me.
Why did he make everyone think he was dead, why did he stop being the leader he is, and now he is back, I had so many questions and most of all, I had one question that lingered on my mind, how did he get these scars?
Dominic stared at me when he moved closer to me, he softly touched my hand when he led it toward his chest, the most prominent scar on his body, and my hand shook for a moment before I freed my hand and I touched him again.
“You are crying for me.” He said, his eyes filled with confusion, his face twisted with so many questions. “You fear me, I imprisoned you, I forced you to stay here, and yet you shed tears for me, Aurora.”
“I am no monster.” I breathed out, I hesitated a bit before my hand touched his chest again, his eyes closed for a second, these wounds were deep, it has been on his body for a long time, and it felt horrible even thinking about it.
Was he really the monster that everyone claimed he was, or was someone else, someone that felt pain so much, now he is used to it?
“I have been through worse.” He stated, and my eyes widened in shock, what could be worse than this, when I wanted to kill my hand away, he stopped me.
He moved closer to me, his eyes were on mine for a second before he fell upon my lips, I felt a jolt of electricity fill my body when I felt him breathe out.
“Dominic.”
“You are precious, Aurora.” He whispered. “You are scared of me yet in some ways, you believe I should not have these scars, you have heard the stories and yet, your heart wants to disagree with them and I have killed in your presence and yet, you feel like that does not amount to the fact that I should have these scars.” He said, his tone smoothing and calm, when I looked away from him.
I have a bleeding heart, like Candice would always say.
He moved even closer to me when I felt his finger lingered against my waist and I closed my eyes for a second before I pulled away from him.
“Good night Dominic.” I breathed out, my legs felt wobbly and weak as I rushed out of the room and into my room, soon I laid on the bed and a deep slumber came on to me.
Breakfast was the same as usual, but this time his men were not like, which made me wonder if he didn’t want them here because of me, he hasn’t said a word to me since we started eating and neither have I.
“Uhm…..can I have my phone.” I finally asked. “It’s just Candice would be worried sick about me, and she would have to talk to the cops, I am sure she already has.”
“Your friend has been taken care of.” He resorted, and my eyes widened in shock, my jaw dropped ajar as I stared at him.
“What-she is fine, she thinks you had to leave for a work trip.” He said, and I felt a wave of relief wash over me; I was worried he had done something to her, I was worried maybe he would hurt her.
After breakfast, I didn’t waste any time rushing into my room; I marked an X on the calendar, when my mind wandered off to Dominic, I felt the urge to agree to the feeling that I had, but I didn’t, I don’t care for him, I am not meant to.
I was pulled out of my thoughts when I heard a noise coming from the downstairs, it was like someone was yelling, I felt my heart drop when I heard a gunshot, my feet wobbled against the ground when I picked up myself and I headed out of the room.
“You want to throw all of this away for some woman you just met.” I heard an unfamiliar voice yell, I stopped in my tracks and I hid behind one of the pillar against the stairs.
“Say it again, I dare you.” Dominic mumbled, even though the man was yelling; he didn’t yell, I didn’t understand how someone could be so calm; his tone was harsh yet calmer than the other man.
“You worked hard to get here, f**k for five f*****g years we have worked hard and-“ he was about saying when his gaze met mine, it’s too late.
“Come out of hiding, sweetheart.” Dominic whispered, and I nodded, as much as I didn’t want to, there was no place to hide, I headed out further into the living room, my heart nearly in my throat as I settled beside Dominic.
“She is beautiful, I won’t mind having a round with her.” The man smirked, his distasteful eyes were on mine.
“Go in right now.” Dominic said calmly, I may have awaken the monster in him.
“Come on, Dominic, she wants to be here. I am Damon, little one.” The man introduced himself and I looked away, my feet felt heavy against the floor and Dominic’s eyes met mine, it was dark and filled with anger, I wasted no time in heading back into my room.
Damon, he looked deadly, the way he licked his lips when he saw me, it scared me, my heart was still pounding against my chest as I had thought about it.
My second fear was Dominic, he is not going to good and calm this time, he is not going to want to understand why I came out, even I didn’t know why I did what I did.
I was deep in my thoughts, I had no idea how long it has been until I heard a knock on the door and I instantly mumbled a come in, thinking it was one of the maids but it was not.
“You.” I breathed out, he walked in with a smile on his face,
“Don’t run, I am not going to hurt you, actually I have something else in mind I have in store for you.” Damon smiled. His ways lingered with lust, and I held on to the sheets.
My heart skipped a beat, his perfume filled my nostrils when a tear slipped out of my eyes, I tried to run away, but he got my feet and dragged me toward the end of the bed.
“Now I see why he keeps you hidden, why he wants to risk everything for you, you are a princess.” He smiled, he leaned in when I pushed the pillow against him and I let out a scream, and he covered my mouth.
“Help.” I whispered against his hands.
“He won’t come for you, he is busy.” He breathed out and I shake my head. He can’t be.
Not only that, but he placed his lips against my neck when I bit his hand, and he lets out a curse, in a second his hand was on my cheek and more tears streamed down my cheek.
He shoved me hard, pinning me by the scream still muffled when I heard a noise, the softest creak of a door, Damon froze, and he stared at me.
A presence filed the room like a storm, Damon knew he has made the biggest mistake of his life when my teary met Dominic, a wave of relief washed over me.
“Let her go.”
