— The Cells —
The drive was not long from the village, it took them minutes actually. Judy took the time to observe the background very well, they were going deeper and deeper into the forest and soon, a mountain foot appeared but they passed it and went straight. A couple of miles away from the mountain foot lied a gigantic gate, in which they entered after waiting a few minutes.
They longed a few miles again in a corridor of trees then reached a fountain. Calev turned around the fountain and stopped his car right in front of big stairs.
“get off” he said at Judy who was so amazed at such beauty. She opened the door to get out but was soon greeted by built men running toward her, panicked she turned towards Calev but he just waved her and addressed himself to the guards “throw her in the prison cells” after saying that he drove off somewhere.
The men dragged Judy all the way across the pack house down to the underground and really threw her into a cell. She was powerless all the way there, she just wasted her energy as they were too strong for her. Right after being thrown on the cold ground she bounced back up, holding the bars “let me go! “ she screamed
“no can do” one of the guards who just brought her said while sitting on a chair right next to the door.
“why! What did I ever do to you?” she slowly crumble on the ground again.
She couldn’t understand why this was happening to her.
“I want to talk to Calev! Call him please! It’s important”
The guard didn’t mind her and just closed his eyes.
Judy refused to cry but the place was so horrible and she didn’t even bath for the last 3 days, she felt so uncomfortable.
Crawling in a corner, holding tight her backpack she told herself everything was going to be alright.
After what seemed like forever, the prison door made some noise, which alerted Judy and made her run to the bars to see who it was.
“Thomas told me you wanted to see me” Calev just said, as he was in front of her. She could not see him though, but she recognised the voice, his deep calm voice.
“I thought you believed me! Why did you lock me up?”
“I do believe you saw my brother, but how you did to come all this way... Just you being here threatens our entire species. Also, I don’t know what my brother told you, but I guess he forgot to mention in which condition he left” “so don’t expect to be free so soon” he added with a smirk.
Hearing him, Judy became livid. What did he mean by “the condition in which he left” did he do something bad? No... Clay couldn’t... Was he pretending all this time?
Seeing the confusion all over her face, Calev could not help but enjoy the show, it would be more easier to break her down than he thought. He would use her to find that traitor of a brother of his and would make him pay for everything his done.
Turning to the guard he ordered “Thomas! Make sure she does not receive any food or drink of the sort. I will be back when father will return”
“but Sir—” Thomas wanted to say something but he stopped him. “ah ah ah ! I gave out an order” on that note, he exited the prison cell.
“he can’t be serious” Judy wondered desperately.
“trust me, there’s nothing as serious as him around here when it’s related to his brother” Thomas the guard told Judy.
“so... You’re Thomas” the man just nodded his head and went back to his chair.
Judy, not knowing what to do went back to her previous position and closed her eyes thinking of a way to get out of her. She still didn’t say her last word!
Calev on the other hand was so happy he was smiling ear to ear. He had never been so close to finding Clay since the day he left.
“Calev, are you sure it’s safe to starve that girl? She won’t survive you know. She’s just a human and nobody knows when Alpha Calian will be back” it was Jordan, his beta to be who said that as he approached him. Of course he would say that, he was the only one not afraid of Calev and nice enough to think about others.
“and have I not already told you that compassion of yours will be the death of you one day” Calev replied, turning to face him.
“but Cal she’s just a human, plus she said she had an important message from your brother” Jordan countered, falling in the sofa behind him.
“man did you see her? She crossed the forest! That stubborn forest always playing tricks on people! I am sure she is not just your average human girl”
“well she is far from average” Jordan laughed followed by Calev.
“what are you boys laughing at”
It was Jo, she was back from her shift at the bar.
“Jo talk to your boyfriend, he wants to free the human girl”
“wow wow wow! How many times do I have to tell you Cal, I cannot date a weakling like that. And also, you did what!” the girl said, joining them in the sofa.
“when I mind linked you a human was asking about the pack house, I wasn’t asking to lock her up Cal” she scolded Calev
“she is so cute, she wouldn’t even hurt a fly” she added.
“that’s what I’ve been telling him” Jordan agreed.
“wait you said she was cute?” Jo turned to Jordan “uhm...”
“both of you! You do realize you are doubting your future alpha’s decisions right?” Calev asked them, crossing his arms and waiting for their answer but they both just ignored him and continued their discussion. Soon Jo was chasing after Jordan all around the pack for something he had said.
“ tell me he’s not your boyfriend again” Calev whispered.
