Candy's POV
I signed the contract. I just can't believe how the rich can manipulate things and how complicated matters come so simple for them. I'm starting to believe that money can buy everything. Even life.
I am on my way to the airport. The procedure will be done in a country where surrogacy is legal. I will stay there until I give birth and as the contract states, I will no longer see the baby. They will take the child right away. I got a pocket money and they will give me the 5 million pesos right after the procedure is done.
I walked towards the check in counter and took one last look around. I took a deep breath and prayed. I pray that what I am doing is right. After a few minutes of waiting I saw the ground FA's opened the counter for boarding. I took my boarding pass and fell in line. I felt that I am walking towards a new dimension. What is out there?
Dave's POV
I sat at the business lounge waiting for my flight. My grandma was supposed to be with me in this trip but her passport has to be renewed. She will just be on the next flight tomorrow.
I see a lot of write ups in the lifestyle section of the broad sheets that bear Lisa's and my photos. Most of them are positive but there's one that caught my eyes, "A Sweet Escape" I read it and the writer seemed to know what's going on. It is against the Castro's. It says that the engagement is just an escape plan for the Castro's to cover up the drug syndicate issues.
I placed the newspaper back on the table and took out my smartphone. My face is circulating around the social networking sites as well. "Sweet Bachelor No More"... Before I could start reading, the FA approached me and told me that my flight's passengers have started boarding. I prefer to be the last to board considering that I am on First Class. I waited for a few minutes before I walked in the plane.
Candy's POV
I saw the that the flight is full. I am really sleepy because it is 11pm at the moment and the flight will take 18 hours. It's been many years since I last travelled outside the country. It was when I went to Japan with my mom 5 years ago. It was a memorable trip. I recalled as the two of use were so excited when we were boarding the plane. But now, I feel like I am dragging my feet to walk towards my seat.
Suddenly a lady stood up and the feeding bottle that she was holding went out of her hand and hit my head. It's lid was not yet closed so the milk spilled all over my shirt. I was totally a mess.
I stood speechless in the middle of the aisle.
"Oh, I'm sorry miss." She said as she held her baby in her arms. It seems like she was travelling alone with a baby who was crying in her arms. She looked helpless so I had no way to even complain.
The FA's came to me to apologize. Then I saw that my designated seat is beside the young mother who spilled the milk on me. There were so many baby stuffs on it. I wonder how I could sleep in this situation. The FA saw my worried face.
"Ma'am, would you like to transfer to another seat?"
"Yes, I'd love to." I said in a relieved tone.
I followed her as we walked along the aisle but it seemed like the flight was really full.
"This is the captain speaking, we will be leaving in a few minutes. Please fasten your seat belts and we will have a safe travel to Moscow."
The engine started and we still could not find an empty seat.
"I'm sorry, ma'am. It seemed like there is no longer any available seat."
"It's okay. I will just go back to my designated seat. Thank you for your help."
But then the airplane started moving and my seat is at the far end of the plane. The FA pulled me.
"Ma'am, the only vacant seat is at the First Class. Please seat there first during the take off and I will help you go back to the economy class once the fasten seatbelt sign is no longer on."
"Oh, sure." I agreed.
We entered the First Class lounge and it was like a private plane. It looks amazing and the people there look rich and powerful. It separates the ordinary ones like me from "them". The scent is calming and the lights made the ambiance cozy. The FA guided me to a vacant seat near the window. Another person is sitting right next to it. I wish that I could stay here during the entire flight. The cushions are so comfortable and big. I can stretch my legs. There are fluffy pillow and blanket prepared for the flight. Really impressive.
I felt myself smiling as I admire the plane's interior. I was touching the surface with my hands then I sensed that someone is looking at me. I saw my seatmate stare at me with a surprised look. He looks as if he is seeing an i***t who just had a first time to be in a plane. I stared back at him in embarrassment. I noticed that he is...how do I describe him. Good-looking? No...He is drop-dead gorgeous. His eyes are brown and the thick and long lashes that surround them make his eyes sparkle. His nose and jaw are perfect as if sculptured with a perfect profile and his lips are small and red. His smell is irresistible. He wears designer clothes as if he just came from a photo shoot. I was speechless...as I slowly looked at myself all messed up with a shirt wet with baby formula.
"Oops." I said stupidly and slowly faced the window while I buckled myself. I felt like wanting to run back to the economy class. "I certainly don't belong here." I told myself.
Then the lights turned dim and the plane took off. I held the arm rest feeling a bit nervous and uneasy. I heard the captain speak as he reminds everyone to remain seated and buckled up until the seatbelt sign is off. Everything here seems comfortable. I closed my eyes and tried to relax...i guess I relaxed too much...and fell asleep.
