Chapter 7

Becca’s POV:

That conversation went better than I expected, I guess he really wants to be a good dad” I thought to myself as I went back to my room. I looked at sleeping kade and sighed ‘I don’t know how I’m going to break the news to him tomorrow morning since he didn’t have a father for five years and was doing quite well, I don’t know how he will react’ I thought to myself and it worried me a bit but I stayed positive. A few minutes passed before I decided to call and quit the night.

The next morning, Kade woke me up by jumping on the bed which was annoying and cute then I bathed for him as he played with bubbles, “Kade, I have something important to tell you after breakfast” I said with a calm and soft tone,

“Okay mommy” he replied and I wore his clothes for him and I had my bath and wore a simple white shirt and blue jeans, we were about to go outside when someone knocked on the door, I opened it and saw the same maid that brought us dinner yesterday with a tray of food again

“Yours and master kade’s breakfast miss, sent by Alpha Dax,” she said

“Thank you,” I said, she curtsied and left. I placed the food on the small dining table in the middle of the room and signaled kade to sit down and I ate and fed him a little then he insisted on eating himself. We finished and a maid came in to take the plates to the kitchen, “Mommy” Kade called me,

“ Yes, darling”,

“ You said you wanted to tell me something after breakfast,” he said, the moment finally came and I took a deep breath

“Yes, sit down,” I said and he did. “Kade, I found your dad,” I said and he looked at me in shock then he stood up and hugged me which confused me,

“I’m so happy mommy, when do I get to meet him?” He asked,

“Soon” I replied,

“Okay mommy,” he said then I hugged him,

“Let’s go visit grandma,” I said, “Yay,” he said with a wide smile and I took his hand and we walked downstairs together hand in hand then I told the driver to take us to the pack’s hospital. When we got there I went to my mom’s ward to check on her.

We visited my mom and talked for a while then we had to leave “Bye grandma” Kade said and she waved at him “Bye honey” she said and I we said our goodbyes and she blew kisses to us and we left the room. As we were walking out I bumped into someone and looked up and saw Shawn “ oh my gosh, Shawn!?” I said,

“Becca?!, it’s been so long” I hugged him and he hugged me back. Kade tugged my shirt

“Mom, is this my dad?” He asked

“No darling, this is my friend”

“Hey there little guy,” Shawn said and Kade waved his hands. We all sat down on a small bench and started talking

“What are you doing here,” I asked and he said he took his daughter for a check-up since she’s been coughing lately.

“Where is she?” I asked,

“ she’s still inside I was about to get some water and I bumped into you,” he said

“So how are you and your mate?” I asked and he looked sad and almost torn up, “ she died a few years ago,” he said with a broken voice

“ I’m so sorry for your loss,” I said and he stood up

“I better go check on my daughter,” he said and I nodded

“say hello to her from me and it was good meeting again after a long time “

he nodded and forced a small smile then he left, my heart broke for him. “Let’s go home Kade,” I said and we both stood up and got into the car, I hope I still bump into him and we could talk more. We got home and at the door, I saw Alpha Dax talking to someone, and then the person left. He turned to us and saw Kade.

He looked at me then shifted his gaze to Kade and he walked towards us, I felt like I couldn’t move in anticipation of what was going to happen. He kept walking until he squatted and reached his hand out to touch Kade.

Kade immediately flinched and hid behind me while clutching my jeans, “Kade” I called out, and he peeked from behind me,” This is your father” I said and Kade looked at me wide eyed then I gave him a little push to stop hiding then Alpha Dax hugged him and Kade hugged him back.

“Daddy,” he said,

“yes, son it’s me,” Alpha Dax said with a soft tone and I was a bit teary-eyed, it was indeed a beautiful moment.

Then they held each other’s hand and Alpha Dax said “Let’s all go inside” with a soft tone. The look in Kade’s eyes made me happy, he finally met his father after all this time and he was extremely happy. We went in and Alpha Dax led us to the dining hall which was quite big and had a long dining table with two chairs opposite each other and one chair at the center which was probably for him. He pulled out a chair for me to sit and I blushed a bit at his gesture,

“Thank you,” I said, he carried Kade and put him on the chair right next to him. He signaled the maid standing beside him to bring in the food and oh my they all looked so delicious even Kade’s eyes twinkled and I let out a small chuckle.

“Let’s eat,” Alpha Dax said and we all ate, Alpha Dax noticed everywhere was silent so he tried to create small talk “So Kade, have you had any formal education?” He asked and Kade nodded

“I’m in the first grade,” Kade said,

“That’s great, are you ready to start school again?” Alpha Dax said and Kade nodded enthusiastically. “Becca” he called out my name and I looked up and met his eyes, “Are you going to work at the pack’s hospital since you have a medical degree,” he asked,

“ That’s what I intend to do,” I said,

“ I could just call the manager to interview you?, are you with your resume and credentials?” He asked,

“Could we talk about this after we’re all done eating?” I suggested and he nodded .

“Chew slowly, son, it’s not a race” Alpha Dax said with a small grin when he noticed Kade rushing to finish the food,

“Okay dad,” Kade said.

After we ended lunch we went to the living area for some chit-chat, and all of a sudden a man came in which I assumed was a butler with a big box, dropped it and waited for orders, “You can go” Alpha Dax said, he opened the box “Kade all these toys are for you, you can play with them after school and during the day I hope you like them” he said and Kade’s eyes twinkled like stars and he ran and gave Alpha Dax a tight hug, “Thank you, Dad you’re the best” he said happily, “You’re welcome son” Alpha Dax said with a smile on his face and it made me my heart warm that he was really putting effort into being a good dad for Kade. I excused myself to go upstairs and left Alpha Dax and Kade downstairs while Alpha Dax was teaching Kade how to play with some of the toys. I went to my room and used the bathroom and when I came back down I saw Alpha Dax holding Kade in the air while Kade spread his hands out like a bird while smiling and laughing heartily I was speechless, my mouth hung open he looked breathtaking as he was laughing. He must have caught me staring and I closed my mouth and my face turned bright red “Are you okay?” He asked, “Your face is bright red” he looked worried, did he really not know I was blushing, “ I’m fine,” I said with a cheeky smile and he put Kade down.

“Mommy, see what Dad gave me, it’s an airplane,” Kade said, “Yes it is and it’s very beautiful,” I said as Kade nodded his head and smiled widely I could tell he was the happiest boy on earth right now which made me and Alpha Dax laugh, we realized we laughed at the same time and we both looked away. “Kade, it’s getting late you’ll play with the toys tomorrow,” Alpha Dax said and Kade packed the toys back into the box, “Good boy,” Alpha Dax said and he patted his head. “I’m going out now and I’ll be back soon, be a good boy okay?” Alpha Dax said and Kade nodded his head Alpha Dax looked at me and gave me a nod and I understood, “Daddy is going out now let’s go upstairs Kade” I said and Alpha Dax smiled at me which gave me this warm feeling inside and I smiled back then we went upstairs. When we got to our room Kade lay down on the bed and just smiled “Dad is the best, right mom?” He said,

“ Yes darling, your dad is amazing,” I said.

“i like him alot” he said,

“I'm sure he likes you too, baby. Your dad is surprised and he probably prepared ahead just in case he meets you” I answered, “Mom I’m tired can I take a nap?” He asked, “ of course, let me just tuck you in,” I said and sang him a little song then he adjusted himself to a more comfortable sleeping position and drifted off to sleep while I just thought about the time Alpha Dax and Kade spent today, he was really a good dad at least from today, I think Kade will really love him.

I eventually lay down next to Kafe then duh through my bag and took my favorite book to read whenever I was bored to keep myself busy.
