Alpha Dax - My mate has a son!

Chapter 8

Becca’s POV:

Considering there was nothing to do, I decided to walk around the house. I saw a garden and decided to check it out and I saw a small bench and decided to stay there for a while and enjoy the view. It was getting late so I went inside then I saw Alpha Dax talking to someone that looked like one of the pack members.

I tried to sneak up on them to get a closer view of them. Then I was about to fall when someone caught me just in time and it was none other than Alpha Dax and he looked a bit confused.

“ What are you doing here,” he said then I realized I was still in his arms and composed myself

“I was taking a walk then I tripped,” I said trying to make it as believable as possible,

“okay, where’s Kade?” He asked,

"he’s asleep.” I replied,

“oh okay,” he said.

Then there was that silence that wasn't all that uncomfortable but you would rather not have it. I thought of something sensible to say other than gawking at him like a lunatic

“are you done with what you said you had to attend to?” I asked,

“Yeah, just a minor issue,” he said and I nodded. For f**k sakes, why was he looking at me like that and why does my throat suddenly feels parched?

"You know Kade really likes you” I said and he looked at me with a grin

“I’m happy he does, I’m really trying to make up for lost time” he said looking so sincere.

We talked for a while and I enjoyed our conversation which was majorly about Kade but at least we talked before I left to check up on Kade. I went back to our room then I remembered I

had to go to check for job offers but I couldn’t leave Kade alone, I’ll have to go tomorrow.

Some few hours later, Kade had woken up and i was tending to him but someone knocked on the door, so went to open it, “ Miss, Alpha Dax said I should inform you and Kade to join him for dinner. He also said to let you know that you and master Kade will be having dinner in the dining hall with him every night” she said politely, curtsied then left. I was dumbfounded, he is quite thoughtful, I thought to myself before grabbing Kade's hand then we left the room to the dining hall which wasn't all that difficult to locate.

“Good evening dad,” Kade said with a bow, Alpha Dax walked over to him,

“Evening son,” Alpha Dax said with a grin then he ruffled his hair

“Evening, Alpha Dax,” I said with courtesy, “Evening Becca” he replied and then we all sat down on the chairs closet to Dax to eat. With me at his right hand side and Kade at his left. I was floating from the sheer look of happiness on Kade's face. He might not fully understand our situation or rather mine, but he was happy. And that's what I'd ever wanted

Shortly after, the maids brought in the food and we all had a hearty meal before going to the living room.

“Do you want to watch TV?” Alpha Dax asked Me and Kade. Kade nodded then I gave my approval with a small smile. Dax turned on the TV then put it on the kid's channel and Kade looked quite glad.

After a while, I started dozing off while watching the cartoon. I opened my eyes some minutes later to find Alpha Dax staring at me, “you’re already sleeping” he said as his deep voice echoed in the living room,

“I guess so” I said timidly before I looked at the clock and oh my it was already late, “Kade it’s past your bedtime, time to go to bed” I said and Kade turned to Alpha Dax and stood up,

“Dad can I continue watching the cartoon tomorrow” he said with a pleasing voice,

“Sure son” he said and we said goodnight then went upstairs.

When we got to our room, I bathed Kade then wore him his pajamas and tucked him in.

“Mommy, can you read me a bedtime story please,” he said,

“of course” I replied and he smiled. I grabbed a book from my bag titled the ‘big red dog’ and started reading it to him.

“The dog took the ball back to the rightful owner and went back home at the end,” I said, completing the story only to find Kade asleep, then I chuckled, kissed his forehead, and went to have a bath. I wore my pajamas and laid down next to Kade and slept.

I woke up to find Kade still sleeping which took me by surprise, he would wake up before me on a normal day. I guess the cartoon he watched yesterday really tired him out. I took my bath and remembered I had to go to the hospital today. I came out of the bathroom to see Kade awake then he gave me a hug, “Good morning mommy” he said, “Good morning darling” I replied and I bathed, brushed, and dressed him up. Then someone knocked on the door which I assumed was the maid.

I opened the door to see Alpha Dax in front of me, “Can I come in?, I would like to join you and Kade for breakfast, good morning by the way” he said, “Good morning, come in” I replied still shocked that he came to our room to join us for breakfast. I locked the door and turned to see Kade and Alpha Dax already talking, but before I walked toward them someone else knocked, I opened the door to see the maid with a tray of food, “ morning Miss, breakfast for you, Alpha Dax, and master Kade” she said and I gestured for her to come in “good morning” I said, then she dropped the food on the center table and left.

Alpha Dax gestured for me to sit and we all started eating, we finished, and then we started talking, “We’re going to the hospital today to check for job offers” I said, I just felt there was a need to tell him where we’re going to, “Okay, so what post are you applying for” he asked, “ a doctor, I have my credentials and resume with me” I replied and he nodded and gave me an approving and impressed look which made me blush and Kade was just looking at the both of us talking which made me and Alpha Dax chuckle.

“We’ll be going now,” I said and he nodded, a maid came to take all the plates and we all left the room. I and Kade went to the car and told the driver where we are headed to and we drove off. When we got there I asked the receptionist about the job offers and she told me there was a vacancy for doctors to apply and she gave me a form to fill, I filled it and she directed me to the manager’s office, on the way I decided to leave Kade with grandma and I went to the manager’s office with my credentials.

I found his office and I knocked on the door, “come in” he said and I opened the door and went in, I hadn’t seen him around before, I thought to myself then he gestured for me to sit and I told him about the job offer and he asked for any work experience and told him I worked as an intern at ‘Life hospitals’ in another city. He asked for my documents and I looked through them, “you’ve got the job” he said and shook my hand. “ Come by tomorrow to get your ID card and a formal introduction to the team,” he said, “Okay sir, thank you,” I said then I left the office.

I went to pick up Kade then I talked to my mom, “dear, Kade told me he has seen his dad” she said and I sighed, “a long story mama, I’ll tell you another day” I said and I told her about the job offer and how I got the job, “that’s great dear, congrats” she said and then coughed a

little before a doctor came in to check on her. We said our goodbyes and then left to go back home.

‘Home’ I guess it was our home now.

We encountered traffic on our way back home but we later made it home. We went to the living room since no one was there, “Kade I want you to start school” I said, “okay mommy” he replied but now I have to tell Alpha Dax about it. I wonder if he’s at home.

I asked a butler if he knew how to turn in the tv and he nodded and then turned it on. “There you go miss,” he said and gave a small bow, and left. Kade looked around and I’m sure he was looking for his dad he didn’t even notice the tv was on. “Kade” I called and he turned to me then he noticed the tv was on and he smiled. It was already on the kid's channel so I didn’t have to look for any button on the remote. He lay down on the couch while watching the tv.

Sometime later, I went to the kitchen to get some water and when I returned I didn’t see Kade, my world froze, “Kade” I called out, “Yes mommy” he answered as he came out of the toilet and breathed a sigh of relief. I sat down and he laid down next to me and continued watching tv. I closed my eyes and I slept.

When I woke up I found myself in the room but Kade wasn’t there. I stood up immediately and went downstairs to see Alpha Dax teaching Kade how to play with another toy he bought. He saw “how was your nap,” he asked and I blushed, “it was fine but how did I get upstairs, I clearly remember sleeping on the couch,” I asked, “Daddy carried you with his super strong arms,” Kade said and I turned bright red, how did he carry me from all the way here to upstairs and I didn’t even wake up.

“You looked so tired and I didn’t want to wake you up, so I just carried you,” he said innocently, “okay,” I said and I felt my face get hot, “your face is red, are you okay?” He asked with a look of concern. “Mommy is blushing,” Kade said as he giggled and Alpha Dax looked away. “Thank you by the way,” I said timidly and just sat on a chair watching the father and son duo playing and they looked cute, I hope things will remain like this.
