chapter 13

It took an hour to get to Damien’s pack lands. We pulled up to a large white plantation house with a bay window and a large wrap around porch and a very pissed off Cole pacing the deck.

Once he saw us pull up, he hopped down and stalked to Damian.

“your mutt brigade won’t let me in the house!” Cole yelled standing chest to chest with Damian.

“That’s because its not their house its mine.” Damian answered matter of factly.

“Need I remind you BOY, that your so called ‘pack lands’ are on my property? Every building here should be mine!” he said sturnly threw his teeth

“Actually you yourself had everything in blackhawk sighned over to my great great grandfather just incase something like this exact situation happens. Where you-“ Damian poked Cole in the chest” need a place to run and hide if things ever gone south. You own the dirt not the buldings, homes, or businesses” Cole glared at Damian

“so. Let. Me. In.” Cole hissed

Damian stepped arround him and walked up to the porch to open the door then stepped inside and waited for Cole with a smug smile. Cole stomped up to the door and tried to go in but got pushed back right away. He glared at Damian

“Let me in” he said annoyed

“Ask nicely” Damian mused

Cole huffed “May I please come in? “

“Why yes Lord Cole, you may” Damian stepped aside to let Cole into the house

“Geez what was that about?” Lilly asked

“Oh Aya’s got her own boy harem going” Nick teased Lilly looked at me completely offended

“Why haven’t I heard any steamy boy stories? How the hell does four eyes know more about your love life then I do?” Lilly exclamed.

“There’s nothing to tell! I don’t have a boy harem this isn’t some stupid anime Nick!” I pointed the words to him and grabbed Amethyst from his arms and started to the door but halfway there Amethyst pointed up and said “woooow” full of amazement. I followed her little finger to the sky full of dazzling stars. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that many stars in my life. I staired up in amazement with my toddler in my arms parroting her words.

“woah” I looked straight to see Cole watching me with a. smirk on his face

“What?”

“Nothing. your cute when your stargazing”

I looked up again and smiled

“I’ve always loved looking at the stars they’re so beautiful and mysterious”

“Hmm” he nodded thoughtfully and hopped off the porch. Nick came up and took Amethyst from my arms giving me a wink and a wiggle of his eyebrows taking her inside. Cole looked back to make sure everyone was inside before a strutted over to me. I rolled my eyes and looked back up at the stars.

“you know, back when I was human, I tried to make a point to name every star in the sky. That was of course before we knew there where millions.” Cole stated when he was finally shoulder  to shoulder with me

“So how many did you get to name?” I asked

“somewhere around 3,000” he stated casually.

I looked at him in awe and he chuckled.

“When your out on the sea especially in the year 1121 you see the stars a lot more clearly and on top of that we used them to navigate the open waters so naming them was necessary.” the put an icy hand on my shoulder

“Huh. You know you don’t talk about your human life that much. Why is that?”

Cole gave a nonchalant shrug of his pointed shoulders “its not much different then the life I have now. I move I pillage I take what I want and kill whomever is In my way.”

I scoffed discussed at his comment I removed his hand from my shoulder. “Your discussing” I spat and stomped away from him inside the house.

Damian was waiting for me inside sitting on the stairs untill I opened the door. He stood up to his feet excidedly.

“I wanted to show you your room myself” he said explained when I gave him a curious look. I turned around to find cole behind me at the door way glarining at Damian. I rolled my eyes and took Damian by the hand alowing him to lead me up the stairs. Leaving a steaming cole behind.

On the second floor of the house was six bedrooms all with cajoining bathrooms. Damian led me to the end of the hall to the last room before the second set of stairs. The room was huge painted in a soft lilac and gold trim. There was a queen size bed in the middle of the room with pink rose bedding and a black lace canopy around it the twins had one big crib in the corner of the room also with a anopy around it.

“ wow it’s the biggest room ive ever seen!” I exclamed.

“wait theres more.” Damian smiled

He led me to the french doors painted in a pale gold on the wenst side of the wall. Inside there was a small walk in closet and a full bathroom complete with a large white spa tub.

“this is co cool iove never been in a tub like this before!” I sighed dreamaly imagining all the bubble baths I was going to take while im here.

I looked back at Damian who had a big smile on his face

“what?” I asked

“nothing your just cute when you day dream” I fround Cole said something simmaler just a few minutes ago.

He noticed my change in mood so he changed the subject

“this room is conjoined with mine so if anything happens or if you need anything ill be here in a flash. Theres a lock on it not that it would stop me if the twins or you where in danger but im hoping itll at least give you peace of mind.”

I nodded at him and gave a small smile.

he gently put his hands on either sides of my geeks and stroked my cheekbones

“I’m going to protect you now and for the rest of time you may not belive me but you are my mate. And I don’t care how long it takes ill win you over.” He spoke softly and leaned in to give me a tender kiss. Sparks fluttered across my lips at his touch and on instinct I grabed his shirt as he pulled away and kissed him deeper than he kissed me. He didn’t hesitate to kiss back with more force. His hands left my face and snaked arround my waist pulling me closer to him. I felt so safe and warm in his arms. it felt right. Maybe there was a thing to this mate ordeal after all.
