The Odd Mate

Chapter 2

    Hey I at least got here in time and wasn't." I said smirking at him.

    My dad laughed knowing this is true. I set my things down and walk to the kitchen and grabbed bottle of water out of the fridge. I hear through the mind link Alpha John and his family are headed this way. I set my water on the counter before heading to the front porch to wait by my father.

    "Ivy your hair." Aster says as he walks pass me.

    I look at him confused then reaching for my hair. As my hand touches the bun I gasp before quickly pulling the hair tie out. My hair flows down and frames my face. I quickly stand next to my dad as three black SUVS pulled up.

    My dad quickly looks at me and nods his head in approval. I smile to him then turn my attention back to the SUVs. We watched as the door opens and Alpha John exits the care first then his wife, three sons and two daughters who looked like twins.

    "Welcome Alpha John and Luna faith." My dad said as he walked down the steps to greet them.

    "Alpha Will thank yo. SO glad to see you again old friend." Alpha John said embracing my dad in a hug.

    "Its been too long." my mom said as she followed behind dad.

    "Yes way too long." Luna Faith said hugging my mom.

    "Ivy. Aster. Met Alpha John and Luna Faith of the Blue Winter Pack." my dad said as he stepped aside.

    "Hello Alpha John and Luna Faith." I said walking to them and shake their hand.

    "Please just call us John and Faith." Faith said as she in golfed me into a hug.

    I giggled hugging her back. "Alright Faith."

    "Oh Will meet my kids. Jeff the oldest, Leigh, Andre and the twins Rose and Lily." John said with a smile.

    As John introduced each of his kids I started to smell a mint and fresh rain scent. I couldn't pin point who it was coming from. It seemed to be coming from all three of the boys. I carefully looked to Jeff. As I looked to him I noticed he was about foot taller than me. When I looked into his eyes they are blue with emerald specks. I felt Lulu whimper and howl in confusion. I turn my gaze to Leigh. He was about the same height as Jeff though his eyes were silver which was unusual and interesting. Lulu jumped around in excitement but she felt a bit off about it.  Finally I looked to Andre and he looks to be the same height as Faith.Andre's eyes are light brown and Lulu was calm and confused looking at him.

    I smiled to each kid introduced before I felt Lulu whimper and wanting to go for a run. I pushed her back of my mind to finish this welcoming.

    "Well John shall we head to my office to go over our treaty?" my dad said looking to John.

    "Yes lets go." John said guesting towards the front door.

    I watched John and my dad head instead the house and towards my dad's office.  My mom and Faith head in just chatting away with each other about who knows what. When turning back to John's kids I noticed Aster talking to the guys. The twins walked pass me to head inside the house to mostly likely to relax.

    I looked to Aster and mind linked him. "Aster I'm going to let Lulu out for a run. I'm needing to clear my mind."

    Aster nodded in my direction and not breaking the conversation with the guys. I turned towards the woods and quickly get myself behind a tree to undress. I fold my clothes then I took a deep breathe.  Then I let Lulu take control. I felt my bones being to crack and change into my wolf form. I felt my paws touching the forest floor. Lulu grabbed my clothes than dashed off. With every step I felt the dirt underneath my paws. I could feel the dirt getting kicked up. I enjoyed feeling the wind blow against my dark gray fur. I looked out and noticed Lulu taking me to my favorite place only Aster and Ronnie know about.

    As Lulu got closer to the rocks she slowed downed. She moved aside to take over. I stopped behind a tree and shift back into my human form. I quickly changed into my clothes leaving my boots off. I started to climb up the pile of rocks to here I usually look out. As I reached the top I see Ronnie.

    "Ronnie. What are you doing here?" I asked looking to him surprised.

    "Aster told me what happened." Ronnie said helping me a bit.

    "I guess he noticed my body language." I said with a heavy sigh as I sat down.

    "What happened?" he asked looking to me.

    "I think I found my mate but I can't figure out who it is. Lulu is even confused. She had a different reaction when I looked at each one. Its one of John's sons." I said quickly and staring out towards the lake on our territory.

    "Oh boy." he said as he looked worried at me.

    Lulu you alright?, I asked her with concern.

    I'm just confused about what happened earlier. she said sounding a bit sad and confused.

    I know. even I am confused. Should we just avoid them until the ball? I asked her.

    I think we should but I want to know which one is our mate. Though I feel Leigh is likely our mate but I wasn't sensing his wolf, she said as she started to pace.

    I'll talk to Ronnie. I'll give you space Lulu, I said to her as she went quiet.

    "Ivy." Ronnie said waving his hand in front of my face.

    "Sorry Ronnie was checking on Lulu." I said smiling sheepishly at him.

    "All good. So what else is bothering Lulu?" he asked watching me carefully.

    "With Jeff she whimpered and felt confused but his eyes are blue with emerald specks. Like wow you would lose your mind. Then Lulu was excited but felt off with Leigh but his eyes are silver which was different and mysterious. Andre she was calm and confused. His eyes are light brown." I said and confused even more. "Oh I scented mint and fresh rain from all three."

    "Wow now I see why your brother told me to get here." Ronnie said.

    I nodded as I rested my head on Ronnie's shoulder. He wrapped an arm around me and stayed quiet. We watched the water and clouds go about. I don't know how long we sat like this before I smelled mint and fresh rain again.
