The Odd Mate

Chapter 3

    "Whose there?" I called out as I turned towards the woods.

    Ronnie quickly moved in case it was dangerous. We both waited and watched who I am smelling. I gasped and covered my mouth when I saw Leigh walk out of the woods with just shorts on.

    "H-how did you find this place. Only two people know about this spot. One is with me and the o.." I stopped mid-sentence knowing who it was.

    "Sorry Ivy. He wouldn't stop asking me." Aster said as he exited the woods in just shorts.

    "Why are you here?" Ronnie asked Leigh with concern look on his face. 

    "I wanted to talk to Ivy.l I didn't get the chance to before she ran off." Leigh said softly and looking right at me.

    As he spoke I felt Lulu perk up and purr softly. She stopped her pacing quickly then lay down to listen to Leigh.

    Lulu. I called out to her.

    M-Mate, Lulu stuttered out slowly and nervously.

    You sure?, I asked perking up.

    She nods her head as she watched Leigh carefully. I looked to Ronnie and he nodded his head in approval. I smiled widely and hugged him tightly.

    "Message me as soon as you are free." Ronnie said in my ear before letting me go.

    I nodded at him before letting him go and climbing down the rocks. As I got to the ground I walked to Aster and playfully smacked his arm. He just rolled his eyes at me chuckling. I smiled at him before walking over to Leigh. He put his hand out to me for me to take. Lulu felt a bit unsure for a moment  appoved. I lightly place my hand into his and instally felt the sparks start on my hand then quickly move up my arm. Feeling the sparks so suddenly made me jump, gasp and squeeze on to Leigh's hand. Leigh seemed to have about the same reaction as i did. I softly smiled at him as I looked at him.

    "Shall we take a stroll back to your house?" Leigh asked smiling.

    "Sure." I said starting to feel shy.

    We started to slowly make our way towards my house. We walked in comforable silence for while as we just listen to the birds chirping and other animals in the distance.

    "So um why are your eyes silver?" I asked softly as I turned my head towards him.

    "It runs in my family." Leigh said with a sheepish smile.

    "On interesting. So why couldn't I smell your scent on just you but your brothers well?" I asked curiously.

    "Umm. That will have to wait for another time I promise. Just hard to explain without my parents to help. They know more and can explain it better than I can." he said as he looked away from me.

    "Oh that makes sense I guess." I said looking away and biting my lip.

    "Ivy I promise you will know." Leigh said softly.

    I sighed giving up on getting any  more inforamtion out of him. Leigh suddenly stopped which made me stop as we are holding hands. I turned to look at him. As my eyes met with his broad well built chest which caused me to hold my breathe. I looked him over slowly for the first time. I noticed how muscluar he is. My eyes started to work their way up to his face. His jaw line is strong and well shaped. His nose looks like the Moon Goddess herself chissled it. When my gaze got to his silver eyes my heart skipped a few beats. Lulu started to purr and move around excitedly.

    "Ivy I know you want to know the reason behind the silver eyes but I want you to know the real me before you know why. Not many know but my family the betas of my pack. Its a secret that must not get out or well just say who knows what would happen to me. Lets hurry back alright?" Leigh said as he put his hands on my cheek which I leaned into.

    "Alright Leigh lets go." I said softly to him.

    Leigh smiled at me before he lightly places a kiss on my forehead. I smiled widely at him as he took my hand into his. We started back on our stroll to my house to hopefully dinner as I am starting feel hungry.
