The Odd Mate

Chapter 6

    As I neared the pack house I saw my folks and Leigh's folks but no Leigh. I stopped at the bottom of the steps. I noticed Faith crying and Lulu started to howl in anger. I looked at my parents and my dad looked at me with concern. I covered my mouth as I felt like screaming.

    "W-wheres Leigh?" I asked uncovering my mouth slowly.

    "His been taken." Faith said between sobs.

    As I heard Faith's response I quickly turned on my heels and ran to the woods. I quickly shifted and ripped the shirt I had on. I quickly ran as fast and hard as Lulu would push. I reached my spot in about five minutes. As I reached the water I let out a loud howl before shifting and crying. I heard movement behind me but didn't bother to move. Then I felt a blanket wrap around me I looked and see Ronnie then weakly smile at him. then looked at my feet just letting the tears fall silently. I felt Ronnie hug me from the side. He kept quiet as I cried.

    "Let's head back. Want me to stay with you tonight." Ronnie asked breaking the silence and pointing out its getting late.

    "Please." I said weakly and wrapping the blanket tighter around me.

    Ronnie helped me up. We quietly walked back to my house. I enjoyed the quiet walk to my house.As we exited the forest near my house I noticed the lights are still on. We entered the house and noticed everything was crazy. I was confused as I walked over to my dad's office. The door is closed and I knock on the door.

    "Come in." my dad said.

    I opened the door and walked in with Ronnie behind me. As I got into the office and saw my dad and John looking over a map and something in John's hand.

    "Hey princess." my dad said as he looked up from the map.

    "Whats going on?" I asked looking to him wrapped in the blanket still.

    "A note was left on the door after you ran off. We might know who it is but not for sure yet." my dad said as he sat down in his chair looking at me.

    "What was said in the letter?" I asked looking to John.

    John handed me the letter for me to read.

        Dear John and Faith,

            As I am sure you are aware that Leigh has been taken. I'm sure you are wondering how to get him. Then come to the border of Will's pack alone just the two of you by sun down tomorrow.

        "Who is this Master person?" I asked tossing the paper on my dad's desk anger.

    "Go change Ivy and we will talk more." my dad said noticing I'm wrapped in a blanket.

    "Yes dad. Ronnie stay here and help John and dad out please." I said as I walked out of the room.

    I quickly ran up to my room. I grabbed a sundress with skulls on it and put my hair up in a bun. I walk into my bathroom to do my business then freshen up. As i finish I make my way back to my dad's office. Oh yes I have a spare room in the pack house just for moments like this.

    "Oh dad. Aster and I put young boy who knows of the Master in the dungeon. He was scared and seemed like he is forced to follow the Master." I said after walking back into his office.

    "Then lets go talk with him." my dad said standing up from his chair.

    I nodded as my dad made his way around the desk and out the door. John, Ronnie and I followed behind my dad. We walked out of the house and towards the dungeon doors. Ass we passed through the doors I shudder. No matter how many times I come here I will always shudder. We descended down the stairs I could hear crying. We got to the cells and I could see the boy in the corner crying and shaking. I grab my dad's shoulder to stop him. when he stopped and looked to me confused.

    "Let me talk to him alone." I said with a smile.

    "Alright." my dad said nodding in approval and proud look on his face.

    I slowly approached the cell and cleared my throat. The boy jumped and whimpered.

    "Hey. Its ok. I'm not here to hurt you.' I said to him softly.

    "I need to get back to the Master or else." he said between sobs.

    "What will happen if you don't?" I asked as I opened the cell door and walked towards then sitting across him.

    "He will hurt my baby sisters. They are only four years old. I'm all they got." he said crying harder.

    I gasped and hugged him tight. "What if we rescue you them and join our pack?" I said softly.

    "You really do that?" he asked as he hugged me back.

    "Of course but you will need to help us because the Master took my mate. If we want to save them we will need your help." I said wiping way his tears.

    "The one with silver eyes?" he asked curiously.

    "Yes. His name is Leigh." I said.

    "I'm Andre. I'm sorry for attacking you. I'll help rescue Leigh and my sisters." Andrew said smiling.

    "Thank you Andrew." I heard John say as he entered the cell room.

    "That's Leigh's dad. My dad is out there also." I said softly standing up and offering a hand to Andrew.

    "You're welcome sir." Andrew said taking my hand and walking out of the cell.

    "Dad are you ok if Andrew and his sisters join our pack? Once saved of course." I asked as I looked to my dad.

    "I don't see why not." he said with a smile.
