Elizabeth couldn't believe her ears. "It can't be true; my parents were just normal farmers. We lived a simple life, and they never did anything dangerous." She denied his claim adamantly. The room suddenly seemed more prominent than it already was. She started to hyperventilate, and before anyone could prevent her from doing so, she began to fall forward, all her strength was gone. Alec saw Elizabeth fall forward and immediately rushed forward and caught her. He picked her up in his arms. "Damien can you please come with us and explain this a little better." He said. Alec walked toward his room, and when he got there, he gently laid Elizabeth on the bed. After he had done that he sat down next to her as Damien sat in a chair across the room. "I guess I should start at the beginning," Damien said. He sighed, then began the story. "22 years ago, I still was a lower member of the enforcers because I did not see why we needed to protect something so weak. The one night, I left training because I felt like I didn't need it. When I was in a town known as Marysville, I discovered a newly killed dark one. There was also a blood trail leading away from the area. I followed it and found a couple with their son. The female had been injured very badly. When I arrived, the younger male saw me first and immediately drew his weapon towards me. When the older male saw his son, he immediately told the younger man to put it away when he looked at me and said, 'Please you have to help my wife. I know you are not a dark one and I know that you can save her. Please save her.' He then bowed to me. I looked at him and asked, 'Why not just let her die. She isn't anything special, just another boring human.' He looked back at me and growled 'She is important. She is my wife, and I love her so much.' I couldn't help but look at him in surprise. He was protecting this weak female who was close to death. Finally, I sighed and said, 'fine, but to save her, I am going to have to give her my blood.' I stepped closer to the female and took her in my arms. I quickly sliced my wrist and forced her to drink. Soon she opened her eyes and when I looked at her. I noticed something immediately that I should have seen before I gave her my blood. In her womb, there was a small feminine life there. I looked at her and asked, 'are you pregnant?' She looked at me and denied it, but then I said 'there is a small feminine life in your womb growing. I would say that she is about three months along.' All three looked shocked, and then the men looked at the female surprised. She stood up and said, 'Michael, we have to retire now. We agreed that if it happened again that we would quit this business.' 'I know Terry we will give this life up, but Adam, you must continue this life. We will not allow this baby to know this life. We can support you as best as we can, if something happens to us, then promise that you will not get her into this life. Support her from the shadows never invite her into this life.' Michael said. While they were discussing this, I decided to leave not telling them that there was a possibility that the baby would be half Vampire because of the blood that I gave. I had gotten word that she gave birth safely, but nothing after that. It turns out that after I became a leader, I contacted Adam, and we stay in contact. His house is a rest area, as well as the fact he lets us use him as bait. When she wakes up, I would recommend marking her and then asking if she wants to meet her brother." Damien said He stood up and exited the room. Alec had listened to the story and was quiet up until the time that Damien left. He looked down and immediately noticed the tear-stained cheeks of Elizabeth. "Sweetheart, were you listening to that whole story?" He asked. She nodded, "I always thought my parents were too clingy, but now that I know why I am sorry that I never told them how much I love them." She said. "It is alright honey. They won't blame you. They were your parents and no matter what they loved you till their last breath. They may not have wanted you to get into the hunting life, but you are in this life because it was meant to be this way. I wouldn't change a moment of your life at all. It is this life that was cherished so much that has allowed my soul to be brightened." Alec said Elizabeth looked at him with tears in her eyes. "If I have a brother, why didn't he at least come to find me? Why didn't he help me at all?" She asked. Alec looked down at her and answered, "He probably thought that if he took you into his home that you would get sucked into this world without actually wanting to be. He probably wanted to give you a choice in your life; therefore, didn't contact you. You can ask him tomorrow when we go to see him. Tonight though, you are all mine." He then gently picked Elizabeth up and put her on his lap. "Tonight at least I am going to leave my mark on you. That way, everyone will know whom you belong to. With my mark as well, I will always be able to find you." He said as he started to kiss her shoulder. She shuddered in delight as he kissed her shoulder. "This will hurt a little." He muttered as his fangs scrapped the skin on her neck. He quickly bit her throat, and she moaned. He carefully extracted his teeth and licked the wound. As soon as Alec finished biting Elizabeth, she suddenly turned around and bit his neck. She removed her fangs as well and licked the injury which caused it to heal quickly. Ever so gently, Alec cupped her chin in one hand. He turned her face toward his own "Just like I said it would hurt a little bit, but now this mark signifies that you will forever be mine." He whispered as he smiled at her. Elizabeth looked up at him, her tears drying. "I will be yours forever?" She asked, almost whispered. "Of course, forever. Even if someone tries to pay me to abandon you, I will never do that. For as long as I live, I will always care for you no matter what." He promised. Alec wrapped his arms around her. "Go ahead and sleep, tomorrow night we will go to your brother and finally introduce you to him. He will more than likely be mad at me, but I never regret anything I do." He told her slowly laying down so that she was laying on his chest. "Can you tell me what my brother is like?" Elizabeth asked. Alec smiled and said, "Your brother is a nice man. I have stayed at his house several times, and whenever I was there, he always made sure that we were protected. Adam is strong and smart, and he also keeps our secret. Of course, he is also a good hunter. He has killed several dark ones..." He was about to continue until he noticed that Elizabeth was fast asleep curled up right next to him. He smiled then whispered, "Sleep well, my angel. Tomorrow your brother will get to see his beautiful little sister all grown up." Alec gently stroked her head as she slept. Alec too closed his eyes and fell asleep quickly. An hour later, Alec was awoken by the ringing of his phone. He groaned then reached his arm over Elizabeth to grab it. He answered it and brought it to his ear and said, "Hello?" "Alec sweetie it has been too long." A female voice came from the other end of the phone. "Mother now is not the best time to talk," Alec said, trying not to wake Elizabeth. "Now is a perfect time, I know that I woke you up, anyways your father and I were discussing it, and we are going to hold a party. Being next in line to be the leader of all enforcers you have to attend, besides maybe you will find your mate. I want grandchildren soon." His mother said. "I told you, mother, I will find her when I do. You need to stop pressuring me about it. I am not traveling halfway across the world to go to some party I mean come on mother. I am second in command here and therefore am needed here." Alec said a little louder than he intended to. Next, to him, Elizabeth began to stir. "Alec, who are you talking to?" She asked sleepily. "Who is that with you? Do not tell me that you slept with a human. You promised us you would wait for your mate, and I swear to god if you broke your promise I am so going to kick your ass." "Got to go. Bye." Alec said quickly, hanging to phone up and sighing. "Is something wrong, Alec?" Elizabeth asked sleepily. "No, everything is fine, my angel. Go back to sleep; you need to get enough sleep to have enough energy." Alec said to Elizabeth, stroking her head. Elizabeth smiled, and under his gentle touch, she quickly fell asleep again.
