When Elizabeth opened her eyes the next night, she was on the same sofa. However, there was a blanket on top of her body. As she rubbed her sleepy eyes, the door opened. Ben stood in the doorway and said, "Good to see you are up Elizabeth. There is someone who is waiting for you." As she stood up with shaky legs, Ben quickly supported her. He led her out to the central part of the warehouse where there was a group of people standing there. Soon the crowd moved enough for Elizabeth to catch sight of Alec, who was standing in the middle of the crowd looking around angrily. His eyes met hers, and before she could whisper his name, Alec had he wrapped up into a tight hug.
"My angel I was so worried about you. When I learned of your kidnapping, my heart stopped. Missing you is something that I never want to go through again." Alec whispered into her ear, hugging her even closer. Right as Elizabeth was about to reply a sudden new voice rang out. "Hey, why is everyone gathered like this?" Ben looked behind him, "Adam, your back from your trip early." He said, walking up to the man known as Adam. "Yeah, I managed to set up a base in Europe which we can use if we travel while we are hunting. So what is Alec doing here?" Adam asked. "Adam, I hate to tell you this; however, it seems like Elizabeth is Alec's mate," Ben told him. "Oh no, no way that is happening over my cold dead body. She has remained out of this life for 20 years, and I am not about ready to risk her getting into this life. Do you realize how difficult it is to keep her out if this life?" Adam yelled at Ben. "Yes I do however you remember what mom and dad said about vampire mates and what happens if you try to separate them?" Ben asked
Elizabeth listened to the conversation between the men, and then she spoke up. "Um, can I ask who he is?" She asked. Ben sighed then said, "This is our older brother Adam. On record, when mom and dad died, he became your legal guardian." "And I didn't know about this because?" Elizabeth asked. "We thought it was best that you didn't know about this life; therefore, we also removed ourselves from your life this cutting your ties to this dangerous life off. "Ben explained. "Well, you know what? I'm in this world now. You two need to stop treating me like a little girl I am a grown woman and can make my own decisions." Elizabeth yelled as she stomped away.
Alec watched as Elizabeth stomped away. He turned his angry expression towards the two brothers. "You realize that because of your stupid mistakes, she doesn't trust anyone, right? It took her nearly a month before she could trust me, and now, you are treating a grown woman as a small troubled girl. I hope your happy for treating her like that, and adding more stress to her when she is pregnant." Alec growled as he quickly followed after Elizabeth.
Adam looked at Ben then asked, "did I hear him wrong, did he say she was pregnant?" "In my defense, I just found out today that she was pregnant." Ben answered, "WHAT?!?!? What do you mean she is pregnant? This is exactly why I put this trip off for so long. I leave for a month and come back to find my baby sister pregnant." Adam snarled as he walked away.
Elizabeth stood on a hill, looking at the moon above her. Alec appears behind her and gently wrapped his arm around her into a hug. "Do not worry angel he will come back around. The family will not stay mad at you forever. Being a baby sister means that the older siblings are more protective than anyone else; their husband included." Alec told her. "Besides right now everyone has to keep a closer eye on you; after all, you're pregnant with our first child. Since you arrived, you have been the hope of all the enforcers, and this baby is even greater hope for us and our allies." He added.
"I know that I'm pregnant you don't have to keep reminding me. You always are saying how important the baby is, and that is what everyone is also saying. However, no one knows about how stressed I am about this. My one brother is happy about it, and now my eldest brother is angry at me. Every male in the cave is saying how they are looking forward to the birth of the next prince. What is the baby is a girl? What if it doesn't survive the birth? What if I don't survive birth?" Elizabeth asked as she looked up at Alec her eyes freely letting the tears flow down her checks. "Elizabeth, I didn't know that you felt like this. Why didn't you tell me about this sooner angel?" Alec asked, wiping away her tears.
"I was trying to keep it that way. Yes, I am happy to be your mate; I was happy to learn about this baby. I cared for its safety when I was kidnapped, and I was worried about you. I was worried about my real family and my adopted family. I care for this child very much, but I have this feeling that the baby is a girl. I know everyone is looking forward to a male. How can I face everyone if it is a girl?" Elizabeth asked. "Don't worry about that angel; the only thing I care about is that you and the baby are healthy. I could care less if the baby is a bit or a girl. If you feel like this, then we can leave everything behind. Go to a remote wilderness area where no one can bother us. You won't have to worry about anything." Alec promised and pulled her closer so she could try and dry her tears.
"Do you promise Alec? Just me, and you? No enforcers stuff just me you and the baby?" Elizabeth asked. "Just me and you. No one else we can stay there until after the baby is born and it is strong enough to travel. For the next eight months, I am yours and yours alone. We can take this time to get to know each other even better." He answered with a smile. "I would enjoy that greatly Alec," Elizabeth said as she started to giggle. It was contagious because soon, Alec was laughing with her.
He carefully wrapped his arms around her waist and was about to take off when a voice stopped him. "Wait a minute." Both turned around and saw two men running up to them.
