I didn’t leave the woods. At least not just yet anyways. Wanting a private call with the doctor herself. Just the one trusting doctor when it comes down to Elizabeth.

“Hello Alpha?”

“Hi doctor Sirona. I have a problem. No I mean a concern with Luna. With her, no! Her behavior yes. Well, not so much in a bad way but more in how.” I stutter my words out idiotically.

“I will need you to explain to me what is going on with Luna.”

I take a deep breath. And just blurted it all out to her. I explain every little arousal differences. Our desire for each other. I think hard before answering her many questions. Needing her to tell me if I am right. “No Dr. Everything been normal besides this drive. It didn’t matter what was going on. It would just hit her and then we just.. You know. It’ll be hours before she seem back to herself.”

Clearing her throat. She pause for a moment. “Well it seems clear to me what’s going on Alpha.”

“So, I’m right? Aren’t I?” My sweaty palms tick as I wait for her answer.

“Yes sir. Luna has begun her heat.”

That was the answer I needed. In so many ways I needed to hear it. I was over joyce with this. It means so much for us. To our growing bond and relationship. This was everything. Yet the aspect of this still wonders in my head.

“But how? Elizabeth isn’t a werewolf. Being mated to one shouldn’t change. And I never heard of vampires having heats.” I asked her.

“Well it seems that after you two have marked. It brought you two closer. Your bond is fully connected as mates. And yes Luna is a hybrid minus our trade. It’s the bond that effects on you both. So yes, you are correct Alpha. It shouldn’t change but Luna isn’t just anyone. The impossible is possible when it comes to her. I had wonder if this could happen now that you marked. And bless by Moon Goddess has given Luna a painless heat drive for her first time. This is a blessing sir. Congrats.” I hear the gratitude in her voice.

“Dr. Sirona? What do I do? Can this mean we can have pups? Do we only have one chance? Is Elizabeth gonna have to be lock away during her heat like the others? What if this is different than our kind of heat?” My mind trail out the line.

“It will have to be a test. It’s risky but I say treat it as any other heat from a she wolf. Don’t leave her alone Alpha. Do what’s needed until realization hits. And as you had told me. There’s not much days left. And for the pups question. Let’s hope it’s a sign.”

“Yes doctor. Thank you so much.”

Malcolm dance around in my head. His tail wiggling in so much excitement. Happy for the news itself. Knowing he got to experience a heat with our mate. It’s beyond magical. I share the same feeling. I sigh. Knowing I have to tell her now than later.

I lock the bedroom door behind me. Removing all my clothes. I make my way to the bathroom. Walking up to a bubble filled tub. Elizabeth plays with the bubbles. Coating her skin all over. I walk to one end. Leaning in to kiss her shoulder. She was so soft and so calling in this image.

Right when I open my mouth to talk the door flies open. Both our heads turn quick. I pull Elizabeth to me in a defense mode. I loosen my grip after Meredith walks into the bathroom like she had the right to.

“Excuse you! Don’t you knock!” Elizabeth shouts but not in an angry voice.

“Oh please. I seen you naked Livy. It’s not a surprise to me. Nor is it you two being cute and gross all at once.” Meredith says.

I lean back with my hand over the tub. Elizabeth sit up right to talk. “We’re saving water.”

“Sure. Whatever.” Meredith rolling her eyes.

Elizabeth hides a giggle before turning serious. “Can we help you?”

“Oh yeah. You have a call at the office. It’s urgent.” Meredith’s face went long.

Both Elizabeth and I knew what it could be so we nod our heads. “Fine. We’ll be there in five minutes.”

Meredith just stood there. Weirdly, like she needed something.

Elizabeth leans her body in mine and I rub my hand up her arm. I lock eyes to Meredith. Feeling a bit awkwardness.

After a minute of belly laughing we got out the tub and hurry to get dress. I kept telling myself once the call with whom over it is. I’ll talk to Elizabeth about her being in heat. Walking into Meredith’s office. I explain to Travis how different this hall is now. How it used to be empty and drawn away from the house. This used to be Sage’s office. But since then Mery has change a lot of stuff. The space was quite larger too. She out grew its original space.

Walking in Meredith stands with her leg bouncing. She seems to be anxious. And I wonder what this guy has said to her. I can hear her jaw sliding side to side.

“And I had told you before Alpha Xion. I’m not agreeing to that now!” She shouts into the phone.

She turns around as she hears us walk in. Sensing her irritated from this Alpha. I walk over to the machine and press the speaker on. Making his male voice loud and clear for us all to hear.

“..I can start up a round dear. Don’t keep me waiting on..”

“You may want to watch your tone there Alpha. Threatening a family member of a Luna is still disrespecting a Luna.” I say as calming as I can to the arrogant Alpha.

You hear him pause before he spoke again. My ears work better than my mates so I can hear Alpha Xion laugh to himself as soon as he heard my voice. I hold in any annoyance. Wanting to see his purpose for calling.

“Miss Luna Marshall. How great to hear from you. I can’t tell you how long I waited to hear your voice. Months my dear. Months.” He says way too cheery.

“It’s Luna Armani. But you will call me just Luna. And that’s it. One more outburst and this call ends now.”

“My mistake. Please forgive me my dear Luna.” Even though we spoke on the phone. I can hear him smirk through the damn thing.

“I see you and my sister have been in contact. So why ask for me? Why now?” I wondered.

“That’s not totally true.” I look up at my sister who hid her eyes away from me. “I have been asking the lovely twin Meredith of you for months. But it always seems to be something. I am aware you must be a busy woman Luna. But I can’t help but feel disrespected by you witches. And having your wolf guests. I feel so hurt by you ladies. I thought you knew of our agreement.”

I try to act like I didn’t just now heard of his request. Travis grew suspicion by the call. Taking a seat right on the table with his arms cross over. I can feel his eyes lock on me.

“So you think acting like a prey was the way to go? I’m sure the agreement doesn’t call for that. Alpha.” Mocking him.

He laugh at my tone. “Well maybe you are free to talk now. Aren’t you dear?”

“Caught your tongue Alpha. I am not the man to play with. Your body will be the next to bleed out in that river if you speak to her in such way again.” Travis growls at the Alpha. Annoyed from his flirting.

“Cute. Wise of you to bring your Alpha lover.” He said it as if it was a joke. Making Travis growl more in anger.

“Mate Alpha. I warn you. This call is done. Do not let me see any of you pass the water unless you want it return back without a heart.”

And as I put my finger on the end call button. He makes an offer.

“I have a deal to oppose to you and Alpha.” I pause. Making a look at my mate who thought just the same. Mery’s jaw clench in worry. “Meet with me and we shall talk. Put everything aside.”

“I don’t want to see your wolves on this side of the water.” I claim.

“I’ll tame them if you agree to meet with me tomorrow Luna.”

I close my eyes and breathe out. “Fine. Agree.”

“Great. Great. I am just over the river, up the stream and into the bayou. See you soon dear.” His voice sends a nerve to Travis. With his flirty talk. Alpha Xion hangs up before Travis had a chance to say a word. But something says when we meet in person it’ll be a whole macho vs macho thing.

I take a step back and brought my gaze to my sister. Her eyes said it all without a single syllable to leave her lips. My lips tighten with rage. A small shake before I turn on my heel. She calls my name over and over again. Pleading to explain but I couldn’t handle her lies right now. My mind was fixed on Alpha Xion. I need to come up with something before tomorrow. So I had no time to waste.

“At least let me go with you tomorrow.” I pause at the door. Holding it half way close. I don’t turn to face her. Waiting for more. She says nothing.

“No.” I whispered.

“But Xion is a head in the ass Alpha. I know how he..”

“I said no Mery!” I yelled. “He called for me. Travis will accompany me. That is it. Our talk is over.” I said before storming out of her office and headed to my room.

I would of stayed to read over their agreement. Most likely it’s Sage’s old agreement she had made. But regardless of what she had promised. I need to get away and think. I needed something of my own to show up with before meeting Alpha Xion.

After some time have pass. And I was able to call up aunt Mable about the old agreement. She went ahead and search through old files of Sage’s and an email from Mery’s computer. She had explain how Mery change one thing in their agreement for the coven’s safety. But other than that. She kept it the same as Sage has.

When I had ask her why. She said it was her first act. She was afraid to change too much. She didn’t want to cause a war so early on. She thought the wolves will retaliate if so. But now they see their mistake. She believes Mery is trying to fix it. That’s why she has been dealing with Alpha Xion on her own. And when I go on to ask other details. She said those are answers only Mery has.

And just like that my guard is up again. Knowing there’s just something big they’re hiding. Something so big that my own twin sister couldn’t confined in me. She just couldn’t trust me enough. And it hurts to be push away now by the one person I did anything and all thing for. The one person I’ve loved more than myself was now ashamed by me. So now she’s the one shoving me away as if I’m a strange. And I can’t help but think if she right.

I headed to the large study hall at the coven’s den. I felt as if I needed to get out the house and be in a more open quiet space. The study hall was huge with just one floor. At lots of teens are here to study and newbie witches whom sworn in take time here.

It’s not normally busy since the coven’s number has went down from the move. Besides covens aren’t too large in numbers. Luminis was once held with about 134 witches including kids. After the attack the number went down to about 109. And now the coven is kept with just over 61 members. Making the study hall more empty these days.

I sat down at the computer space. I was the only one here besides the other five witches I saw on my walk in. I had written out an agenda and plan for tomorrow. I type up a few things but nothing seems right. I tried to find some guidelines with wolf and witches but most says to stay away from each other. Which means I have to find a way to kept the bayou wolves at the bayou.

Reading the clock I see it’s 6 after. And I grew tired by the time. As I give up. The amazing smell of cinnamon took over my brain cells. Calming me down as my head rested on an open space I had. His heavy feet got louder and louder until they stop right behind me. Placing two hands on either shoulder. Squeezing them lightly. And his hot breath against my ears had my body going hay wire.

“I see you have been working hard. Your head fell over.” He breath was hot in my ear.

I pick up my head just a bit to face his grin. “Funny. Ha ha ha.”

He takes a seat next to me. Bringing my chair close to his. Not caring the loud sound the chair made crossing over the wooden floor.

He rans his hands up the side of my leg and over my knee. Making my eyes lock on his. “Can we talk baby. It’s important.”

My head tilted to sense he means business. I nod and move in more to him. “Just kiss me first.” I requested.

He gladly does before telling me some shocking news. I didn’t even believe him when he said it. I mean its not even possible.

“I had spoken to the doctor about your over willing behavior these last few days.” My head tilted more. “And from what I expected it to be. She did too. And I did not think it could happen. But it did. And now we know that you are in heat.” He says quickly as he continues to rub my knee to calm down my spiral nerves.

I thought out his words for a minute. Thinking it straight.

“Are you serious right now.” I chuckle with an amuse look.

“This is serious baby. Your first heat or heats before your first child isn’t to be taken lightly. But it does explain why your s*x drive has been higher.”

He tries to lean in for a kiss but I move my head. He growls but I do not care.

“Well first thing first. This is your first and it’s gonna last a week. You’re normally at a weak state as the pain and the need is unbearable when I am not around you. Which can mean you’ll be smelled out by other male wolves. Unmated wolves to say really. As your need to mate is high.” He explains.

“Wait wait wait!” Holding my hand up. “A week!”

“Just the first time. After that it’ll only be four days. But still an intense desire. And that will go away after you give birth to our first pup.” He adds on.

“That’s when it gets very intense and your smell will increase. It can be dangerous if another male smells you.” He swallows a lump before continuing to talk. “A lot of wolves has been r***d during these states. Unable to fight off the males.”

My eyes widen. Now I know why Gamma asked for her days off. She kept telling me she had to be with Kan. She just never explained to extend of it.

“Fine. Whatever you say I have to do, I’ll do it.” I say in a snarl. I know there’s no fighting in this topic. At some point I was gonna have to face it. Why not now.

“At least we know and are together now. We take precaution during your next heat.” Kissing my cheek.

“Yeah the next one.” And when will that one hit. As I’m still in this one. And it has only been half a week.

I grab my phone to answer. “Hello?”

“Dinner is ready. Mason and Sarah are joining. Find Travis and come please.” Mable’s sweet motherly tone breaks through my mood.

“He’s with me.” Travis makes a look. “We’re on our way.” I hang up the phone.

“And?” He asked.

“Dinner is ready. Let’s go.”

Grabbing my stuff. Travis grabs my lower back to swing me towards him. Leaning both our bodies over the edge. He says nothing as he stares me down. And I couldn’t help but fight the urge to melt in his arms.

Out of the moment he pokes my nose. I wiggle away as he laughs at me. “Stupid wolf.”

“Stubborn witch.” He say as he yanks my stuff from my hand to hold. I say nothing as the urge to smack him fights over me now.
