“Welcome back, Saraiah.” Natatawang sambit ni Noah.
“I’m glad to be back.” Nakangiting tugon ni Saraiah.
“Masama nanaman timpla mo.” Puna ni Noah kay Annaya.
“Nakita nanaman kasi kita.” Taas kilay kong sambit habang naka halukipkip.
“Ako nanaman.” Reklamo niya.
“Hindi pa rin kayo tapos hanggang ngayon? May trabaho na kayo’t lahat?”
“Tánginang tropa talaga ‘to.”
Mayabang kong sambit.
“Oo na. daming satsat.” Reklamo ni Saraiah kaya napangisi ako.
“Paldo ka ngayon, bagong uwi, bagong basal.” Biro ni Ryen kaya sabay kaming napatawa.
“Gisado.” Biro naman ni Davian.
“Ay wag, tigil niyo yan.” Reklamo ni Saraiah.
“Tara nalang manood movie.” Sambit ko.
“Pero dapat hindi kasama si Noah.” Taas kilay kong sambit.
“Amats mo, ako nga mag babayad ng ticket mo tapos hindi mo ako isasama?” Mayabang na sambit ni Noah.
“I can buy on my own.” Reklamo ko habang nakangisi.
“I insist.”
Bati kami niyan, nag hahanap lang talaga ako ng away at gulo as my normal routine.
“Ginusto mo diba?” Biro ni Noah.
“Ay hindi, hindi ko ginusto. At never ko magugustuhan.” Nakanguso niyang sambit kaya napatawa ako lalo.
“Hala taylor swift!”
“Mine by Taylor Swift.” Sabay naming bigkas.
“Mine” is a song by Taylor Swift, released in 2010 as the lead single from her album “Speak Now.” It belongs to the country-pop genre, which means may halong acoustic sound at mainstream pop style. During this time, Taylor was known for writing songs about young love and personal experiences, and “Mine” is one of those songs na maraming nakakarelate.
The lyrics tell a full love story—from meeting someone, falling in love, having conflicts, hanggang sa happy ending. Very detailed ang pagkakakwento. The line, “You made a rebel of a careless man's careful daughter” means na yung guy changed her. She was once afraid of love, but he made her feel safe.
Ang kanta ay tungkol sa unexpected love, na kahit takot ka or hindi mo inaasahan, love can come to you in a surprising way. Taylor expresses that kahit may past trauma or fear, someone can make you feel like you’re worthy of love. The line, “Do you remember, we were sitting there by the water?” shows the beginning of the relationship, a peaceful, simple, and romantic. Overall, the message is that love isn’t perfect, pero kung totoo, it’s worth fighting for.
The melody is soft, sweet, and very Taylor Swift style. The verses are light and calm, then the chorus becomes more emotional and powerful. Yung harmony sa background supports her voice without overpowering it. The song is catchy but not loud, which suits the theme of a gentle love story.
The beat is steady and soft. It’s the kind of rhythm na parang bumabalik ka sa memories mo habang pinapakinggan mo. The tempo is moderate, kaya madali siyang sabayan and sing along to.
“Nandito na tayo.” Sambit ni Noah kaya napahinto kami ni Saraiah sap ag kanta.
“Anong movie gusto niyo?” Tanong ni Ryen.
“Anything basta romcom.”
“Damay mo pa ako sayong malas manood oy.” Reklamo ko habang nakanguso.
“What do you want?”
“Oo, ganon talaga kapag alipin.” Nakangisi kong sambit at hindi na sila pinansin pa.
“He’s All That.”
The title of the movie we watched is "He’s All That", a teen romantic comedy film that was released in 2021. It’s actually a modern remake of the old movie “She’s All That.” This time, the roles are reversed,
yung babae ang sikat, at yung lalaki ang outsider or outcast. I got curious about this movie kasi trending siya noon, and also because the main actress is Addison Rae, a t****k star. I wanted to see if she could really act beyond social media.
The film was directed by Mark Waters, the same director behind Mean Girls, so I expected a fun and youthful vibe. The main cast includes Addison Rae as Padgett Sawyer, Tanner Buchanan as Cameron Kweller, Madison Pettis as Alden, and Peyton Meyer as Jordan, who plays Padgett’s ex. While some of the acting felt medyo pilit at times, I appreciated how the actors gave effort to fit their roles.
The plot is pretty simple and classic high school rom-com. Si Padgett is a famous influencer in school and online. She has lots of followers, and she lives a “perfect” life online, pero in reality, hindi naman siya rich and she hides her true life from everyone. One day, after a humiliating breakup with her popular boyfriend, Jordan, she takes on a bet: to transform Cameron, the most anti-social and mysterious guy in school, into a prom king. At first, gusto lang talaga niya patunayan na kaya niya kahit sino gawing sikat. But along the way, she discovers Cameron’s real personality, and slowly, she starts to fall in love.
The main characters are very different, pero bagay sila in an unexpected way. Padgett is used to pretending and living through filters, both online and in real life. Cameron, on the other hand, is honest, quiet, and doesn’t care about what other people think. He loves photography and spending time with his little sister. Their interactions started awkwardly, pero habang tumatagal, you can really feel the chemistry building between them.
The setting of the movie is a modern high school in California, full of trendy outfits, parties, and social media culture. It feels very current, lalo na para sa Gen Z audience. The movie reflects what a lot of teens are going through now, pressure to be perfect online, to go viral, or to be someone they’re not
.
For me, the main lesson of the story is simple but important: "Don’t judge a person by their appearance or popularity." Minsan yung mga taong tahimik, sila pa yung pinaka-totoo. And also, social media isn’t everything. We shouldn't base our worth sa number of likes or followers. Padgett learned that it’s okay to be real, to make mistakes, and to choose honesty over fame. Cameron showed her that love and connection are more important than image.
One of my favorite scenes was when Cameron took Padgett horseback riding. It was such a calm and beautiful moment. You can really see that Cameron was starting to open up, and Padgett felt at peace. Walang camera, walang pressure—just two people enjoying each other's company. That scene showed that sometimes, the best moments in life are the ones not shared online.
