Chapter4

Meanwhile, Sandra reached her destination safely. The driver helped her with her boxes and left.

She stood in front of the little gate that wasn’t much of a gate. She opened the lock on the gate and entered while rolling two boxes at once.

Sandra had already taken the boxes into the compound. The compound was not big. It will take her thirty seconds to walk from the gate to the house entrance.

She locked the gate after all her boxes were at the house corridor and went to the entrance of the house with her hand bag on her shoulder.

Luckily for her, Alex promised her that the house would be cleaned even if she wasn’t occupying it.

Then he stopped the cleaning of the house without her knowledge. The house wasn’t looking like a house that was abandoned for 11 years, but it sure looked like that which cleaning services were halted for.

After the stress of moving her boxes into the house, she then closed the door and locked it.

Then she turned around, and the first thing that welcomed her was the big portrait in the living room. No one will ever believe that the house would have such a big living room.

Everything was looking so new to her. The chairs, the tiles and even the frames on the wall.

She continued looking around the house. She walked a bit and then suddenly she heard giggles.

She saw her little self running from inside to the living room and her father pursuing her. Nine years old Sandra giggled so much when her father finally caught her.

Visualizing this, tears fell out of Sandra’s eyes uncontrollably. “Daddy, why did you leave me,” she murmured in her tears.

“You promised to not leave me, yet you did. Why??” She yelled out as she cried the more this time she cried in anguish and pain.

“Alex who I thought would protect me now has also finally left me. What did I ever do?” She asked as she wailed loudly.

Few minutes later, she pulled herself from the ground where she was seated. Walking into the living room further, she was now in the middle of the room.

Her gaze was set upon the portrait that was on the wall. It was a very big portrait. She moved closer. “I’m back to this house again, father. After 11 long years”…..

Jenny’s POV

“Urgh!” She exclaimed as she was just waking up. “Thank you Lord”she murmured as she sat upright on her bed. She picked up the intercom and dialled the kitchen.

After giving the cook instructions she went off to the bathroom. She came out of the bathroom after fifty minutes.

She heard a slight knock on the door. “Come in,” she said loudly. “Good morning mam” Angelica said with a smile.

“Good morning Angelica” Lily responded with the same vibe she was given. “You can drop it there, thank you.”

“Tell David to see me immediately’”Jenny said as she was setting her face with her setting powder.

“Yes ma” she responded and left the room sharply. “Oooh all done”she smiled at her beautiful self in the mirror.

She stood up from her stool and then went to her closet. “I want a free dress today.”She looked in the first closet, nothing, she looked at the second closet, then she brought one out.

Not too sure, she looked at her last closet. She brought one out from there too and said “which one should I wear among these”.

As she was busy contemplating, she heard a knock on her door. “Come in,” she yelled. David came right in. “Good morning Jenny” he greeted plainly.

“Someone is looking dull today” she mockingly said. “Come help me choose one, I need to go to the office today and then see Alex.” She said unaware of the anger that was brewing in David when he heard that name.

“The one at the left is finer,'' he said as the other one was looking exposed but since Jenny wanted to go see Alex, he chose the one he chose for her.

“You’re sure?” She asked, looking at the one he chose. “Yes I am” he said looking at her. “Ok I’ll wear it then” she finally said.

“I’ll get going,” he said while walking towards the door. “Have breakfast with me and you’re going to come with me today,” she said sitting on one of the two chairs and a middle table setting.

“Ok,” he blankly said but inwardly, he was elated. “So tell me, what did you do with your time yesterday,” she wanted to talk to him and also hear him talk.

They discussed heartily while eating and Jenny would laugh loudly sometimes when David says something.

“Ohh what a great way to start the morning,” she said with a huge smile. “You can go and get what you need for the day while I dress up.”

“Sure.” He said as he stood up and was about to leave the room. “Ohh yes before I forget, you look beautiful,” he said and then left.

*Giggles* she was very happy anytime he complimented her. She was even more than happy to wear the cloth he chose for her.

She came downstairs in a floral silky free gown. It has a v neck line but it was very deep. She wore a chain which sat at the middle of her chest.

A slippers heel along with the not too long gown was just a perfect combination. David was already waiting for her downstairs.

“What an angel” he said as his eyes sighted Jenny. Unawares that he was staring at her and was lost in thoughts.

Jenny pulled him out of his world by snapping her fingers at his face.“I thought I already lost you there” she said with a chuckle.

“Come on, the car won’t drive itself now can it” David who was still in a dumbfounded state started coming to reality.

As he saw that she was going, he rushed to the centre table to get the car key. He walked behind her and couldn’t just take his eyes off her behind.

He opened the car and they both got in. He has never in his life become this tense because of a woman.

He started driving with his eyes glued to the road. “Are you ok?” Jenny asked as he was sweating under AC.

“I am uhmm ehn, I am fine,” he said trying to concentrate. “You’re sweating David,” she said, even more worried as she turned her body to him….
