Sandra, who had already come out of the room and had taken the elevator to reach the first floor when she saw that he was back. Lily and Alex both turned their heads to the voice and saw that it was Sandra. “I got my information from a very reliable source”. He blankly said as he relaxed on the chair while facing his front. “I thought so too. You can’t have any evidence to prove your claim” she said feeling so hurt that he is not only breaking the marriage but he is also tarnishing her father’s good name. “You’re free to do whatever you want, Alex Williams but do not point accusing fingers against my father when you have nothing as evidence”. “Of course I am THE Alex Williams.” He said as he stood up in pride. “I sure don’t need permission to do whatever I like from a woman whose father murdered my parents”. He ended up yelling in anger. “You act like I didn’t tell you what I witnessed the night of the incident. I’m sure that my father was also a victim too”. She said yelling out as tears overflowed from her eyes. “You won’t believe my words, sure you need no approval from me, but you do from your “reliable source” right?” She chuckled in her tears. She turned her back on him and went into the elevator. It was transparent and so she gave him a glare as she was elevated. Alex looked at her with squinted eyes. He was angry. “How dare you talk to me like that?” He breathed out in anger as his breathing became uneven. After Sandra had left, Lily stood up and went to her brother. She already had thought of everything as they were talking. “I believe you have a very reliable source that you trust so much to be able to divorce your wife with just words, but I want you to think it through Alex.” “You can never be too…” She was cut short by Alex. “I’m definitely sure Lily. I’m done and that’s final. She is lucky that I’m letting her go free instead of having my men kill her.” He said as he stood up and picked up his suit. His words brought great fear to Lily but she acted like they were nothing. “Sara and Anna won’t be coming early tomorrow as the other workers will be so you’ll be making me breakfast and getting my fit ready for the day” he said not wanting to hear anymore word and left in the elevator. “I hope he doesn’t hurt Sandra. Now I’m faced with doing all the work for him” she said as she lazily walked to the fridge and started grumbling. She was chilling with her water and tv when her chest began to ache. “Ahh” she exclaimed softly as she dropped the water on the table. “I shouldn’t be drinking this” she said as she hit her chest and felt relieved. ‘I can’t waste it either,’ she murmured childishly and finished the water in the bottle. She wanted to see Sandra so she went to the third floor and knocked lightly. The door flew open on her thirdknock. “What do you want?” Alex asked as he was taking off his cufflinks. “I’m here to see Sandra” she said as she went into the room uninvited. He let her in without closing the door. “Sandra!” She called out as she walked into the big room. She walked for some seconds before getting to the main room. It has a chandelier in the middle of the room, then golden and yellow light shining bright. She walked across the big bed to the dressing room. It was located at the side of the huge television that was centred at the front of the bed. She knocked and then Alex then said “she is not here”. As he took his toe off and sat on the bouncing king sized bed. “Where..?” She trailed off and guessed where she might be so she left without saying a word to him. He just sat there looking unbothered. She got into the elevator and got to the second floor where her room and Sandra’s room was located. Sandra was seated on the bed crying. She was sad that her husband believes someone else other than her and he has now turned his back against her and wants to go back to Jenny. She felt stupid and wept bitterly. Then she heard a slight knock. She rushed to the bathroom to wipe her face. “Come in” Lily could hear Sandra permit her in. Lily went into the room looking for her. “One minute I’m in the bathroom” she yelled as she sniffed. “I’m so sorry that I can’t do anything about this, his mind is made up and once it’s made up, it’s hard to make him see through anything”. Lily said feeling sad for Sandra as she sat on the spring bed with her. “Something is wrong” Sandra said as she stared blankly at the wall. “I know. It’s definite” Lily concord. “I’ll have to return back to my father’s house by tomorrow. She said with a heavy heave. “I know that you’re a strong lady but please I want you to not give up on my brother”. Lily said as she was already sensing how things were going to end between them. “He has already given up on my Lily, I can’t give promises that I can’t keep but I’ll try. I need to know what he knows so that I can vindicate myself and my father too. It’s so much for me to want to leave this house and all the memories I shared”. She said as she started tearing up again. “I would really love to investigate and find out the reason why he feels my father killed your parents, but I don’t want to open past wounds and where will I even start, I have no money nor do I have a job Lily”. She said, wiping her tears. “I’m so useless that I can’t even help you but I’ll speak to someone on your behalf. He should be able to get you a well paying job” Lily said. “I’ll also give you his card just in case so you could tell him more about you and all. You’d have to wait here and let me go get the card” she said softly. “Thank you”. She smiled a bit and was feeling tired from all the crying and shocking revelations. Lily went to get the card for Sandra. She went in and saw Sandra was lost in thoughts. She tried pulling her out of her thinking cap “I am back” she announced as Sandra was still looking lost in thoughts”. “Sandy, I’m back” she said as she lightly tapped her shoulder. “Oh!!” She exclaimed in shock. “That was fast” she said as she took the card, looked at it and then put it in her bag. “I need some rest now or do you want to sleep here?” She asked calmly as she went to her bed. “I’ll head to my room now, I’m also exhausted” she said with tiredness on her face. “Goodnight Sandra”. She bid. “Goodnight Lily” Sandra also bid. She lay on her back with her eyes red. A tear rolled down her cheek when she closed her eyes. The Next Morning ‘To cherish and to hold, till death do us apart’ she remembered her wedding day. As she looked at herself in the mirror. She was dressed in a beautiful short gown that was a body hug. She never wore clothing like this because she felt Alex didn’t like them. But now she cared no more about what he thought of her. She swept her hair with the brush and tucked some behind her ear. She walked out of the room with her boxes as she was now called that everyone was waiting for her downstairs. As she walked towards the elevator, scenes of her wedding day came to her mind. Beautifully dressed in a thin strapped, lower back and pure white wedding down, she walked down the aisle without her biological father. Someone had to just stand in for her. With all smiles, she took her vows with the hope that her feelings for Alex would grow even more. “Ding!” She heard and the elevator door opened. She went out of the elevator to the second living room. “Good morning Mrs Sandra” Barrister Slater greeted as she walked forward elegantly. “Good morning barrister” she greeted back with a smile. She went to sit a bit far from Alex. She greeted him, but no response. All she got was his look of disdain. This didn’t go unnoticed by all in the room. Lily was present and saw this. She just managed to smile at her as they greeted each other when she went to call her from her room. “Without any further ado, here are the papers. Once you sign them, you will no longer be married and won’t be responsible for any responsibility between husband and wife.” The barrister brilliantly spoke about what it all entailed and gave Sandra the papers. “Please sign next to his signature”….
